It probably surprises people that most Europeans were Pagans until the last 2,000 years. In Eastern Europe almost all of our cultural practices are of pagan origin, just performed in a christian context. There are still shamans living in the Carpathian mountains.
@Samael Most of the world was pagan until about 2000 years ago. I'm Hungarian. Never would call myself a Turk. Hungarians never had shamans. We had "táltos" people that is somewhat similar to shamans. As I read Táltos people say is being a "táltos" is quiet different to the shamans in the other parts of the world. "Táltos" people learnt & gathered information & knowledge from other nations, cultures & religions as they traveled as well as they healed people, etc. Regarding where Hungarian people came from originally they still don't know the answer 100 %.

Let me clarify that: my grandfather on my mom's side was descended from the Seneca tribe War Chiefs. My grandmama was from the Ojibwa tribe. My dad was Hungarian and my mom was also raised by adoptive Jewish parents. So I have walked with many spiritual influences but I am like the old Taltos, so my cousin in Debrecen calls me. She is a prof in Environmental Studies. Anyhow I believe that our Magyar people had many spiritual ways to store knowledge and wisdom and be able to access it.

Magyars and Turks even some Mongols tribes lived in the same places, it's called yurt(tent). Because of being nomadic nation, they had to find better fertile lands which they could to feed their animals and people . The charm of adventure and conquering the West is also a plus. In classes students learning that Magyars went to Europe at first instead of other tribals, and they called " Avrupa Hun Devleti" the Europen Hun State. At that time Turks were living Asian Hun State, and immigrated to Anatolia later. That's the whole story why we claiming them as brothers and sisters.

Descendant...never been but there's always some sort of "home sick" feeling that I seem to carry and this music hits me to my core. I love it so much. Alaskan/inuit, Siberian, Hungarian ancestors (fairly recent). Would absolutely LOVE to visit!!!!!!

He could definitely improve upon his throat singing. He just needs to push himself a little harder. Its hard for someone to learn the art after a certain age without proper self sacrifice, but I believe Hungarians are naturally inclined towards its somehow.

We have contact only in Xiognu because this is our first country and from here we migranted west but after this we wasted contact... You killed many magyars because u we waste lands.. My father in Sárscentmiklos his father not sure but I guess inthat area as they were a family of millers in Sárbogárd, his don't know. This is a masterpiece and I can resonate deeply with it as a Kazakh (Argyn). I can hear the resemblance of this to the music of our various ancient tribes. Is one of the lead instruments related to Kobyz by any chance? It sounds like a bowed instrument. May the cultures and history be remembered... Also, have you heard of a band named "Hassak"? I recommend listening to their songs very much.

I came to Hungary in 1988 and as soon as I got to my cousin's house a big owl came down from the sky or the roof some how and touched me on the back of my head all the way down my back and off my butt in a criss cross sort of way.
