@Eldritch Tales they pioneered both genres really. Tech death doesn't have to be blast beats 24/7. Or you are interested implying tech death Bands only play 4/4.

they're still pretty tight, I heard the guitarist hitting wrong notes like fuck. But the drummer is probably the tightest member, back in the day though no band was as tight as they were that was the true atheist.
Kelly smokes A LOT, so that's probably why his voice kinda got wasted over the years. It's unfortunate that he got tendinitis. He kicked fucking ass at playing the old songs.

Dear Atheist, pls play your overly busy music in or close to the original tempo, so that the listener, especially new ones, can get more out of it. You're wasting your songs and your time on stage. This thing is collapsing at least 3 times per song. You pretty much had it in the last one. But anyways- the singer said, that they had a break, so hopefully you got your sh** together when you come to my place ;)
I apologize for my harsh comment about Atheist. I tried and tried to like them, just didn't happen. Hey to each their own.... I listen to ALL kinds of heavy shit and they just never resonated with me, sorry. Anyway, it was ignorant of me to voice what I did so I deleted it. My apologies Kelly, be well.
Funny because I'm almost only into much more melodic stuff (from Hendrix / Purple to Blind Guardian more or less) but Atheist is the only DM band I managed to realy get into, happened instantly at first listen ; tthey sound so much more "natural" than all the growling stuff.
Drummer is sloppy. His timing is literally all over the place. I would give the guitar players a lot of credit for being able to make everything still sound sort of tight.
@@randomxaos unfortunately it's the one thing that always prevented me from really getting into the first two albums, which is a shame because there's such great music on them. I respect him for the energy,, but it always sounds like a drummer playing just above what he's capable of. If that makes sense. I've always loved Elements though.
@@Romanus_Matthaeusthey were great back in the 90s, its likeley the guitarists haven't practiced much, and the singer's voice is fucked because he allways sung with bad technique
Are you an idiot? This has more talent in his little finger than you could ever hope for. They might not translate so well live but this music is far above most generic metal.
