The Atherton Twins performing their aerial straps number in the show Varekai by Cirque du Soleil. Written and Directed by Dominic Champagne. This video was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They premiered Varekai in Montreal on April 24th 2002 and they went on to perform a total of 3033 shows, never missing a single performance.

We saw Varekai in Portland, Oregon, twice. The second time we had seats second row center and were thrilled as they started their act, flying right over our heads. It was a beautiful show, made more beautiful by these talented brothers.

I was front row for your performance in the Eastern US, and although it’s been many years since this show, your segment has still remained one of the best of all time. Sheer perfection, exquisite execution and unforgettable.

These two are just so talented. I have seen this act performed in person 2 times and both times was totally enchanted by the grace, beauty of the ease they seemly perform each move. I also saw them in Volta and it is still amazing to watch them perform their magic. I too get nostalgic and tear up each time I see them perform as the beauty of each performance is unparalleled. I believe them to truly be the stars of ANY Cirque du Soleil production in which they perform. Great memories gentleman, just simply GREAT!!!

Thank you very much for your lovely words Admiral. It was an honor to fly for you and we hope you get the chance to see us perform again soon. We've been doing this for over 20 years now and can honestly say that we've not once been out there and not wanted to be. Flying and performing for others gives us so much joy. There was a video of this act in its last performance, I looked for it everywhere but it seems that it has been deleted. There the performance has so much more passion, rithm and intensity... is unforgettable, even if it was filmed so roughly. I'm not sayin this act is worst, but that last performance of this act was truly amazing and reflected the evolution of you as an artists. Congratulations to both of you, true legends of Cirque du Soleil.

When I hear this music and see the both of you flying it gives me chills. Brings back great memories of seeing you do this live in Sydney Australia many years ago 👍👏👏👏😍
