Ati Rage II playing the Ati Dawning Demo.
The ATI Dawning demo was made for Rage 128. After Rage II there was the Rage Pro [Turbo] and then Rage 128. So the demo runs on much earlier hardware as it was intended for.
This Rage II runs at 4 MB EDO RAM, 62 MHz, AGP (Powerstrip data).
It does not support Specular Gouraud.
Slot A Athlon 500 MHz, AMD Irongate

Ohhh. Nostalgia. This even has the color mesh, very noticeable in the glow of the sparkles, that was caused by the Rage trying to render stuff in 16-bit color. I remember it all so well.

Bonjour, Je me suis fait mon 1er pc en 1999. Et j'avais une carte graphique " Ati Rage Fury 32 Mb AGP avec sortie s-vhs et RCA video en sortie tv. Et j'avais adoréé cette demo sur mon pc, mais contrairement à toi, je n'avait aucune saccade sur ma machine d'époque. Et en carte mère j'avais une Asus P2B avec un Pentium II 450 MHZ. Une carte son Creative Sound Blaster Live qui était un peu noir et sortie arrière en plaqué or, le top en son !! Et en lecteur, j'avais mis un Pioneer DVD "Slot-in", car je savait que le dvd allais avoir du succès dont mon premier DVD " Un tueur pour cible " avec Chow Yun-Fat que j'ai toujours aujourd'hui !! ;-) J'aimerais retrouvé aujourd'hui cette ati rage fury et cette carte son.... Pour la demo, tu pourrais pas la sortie en 720P s'il te plait ? J'aimerais l'avoir en top qualité d'image... Merci !!!

+neo voyager Normal que c'était plus fluide pour toi, il fait tourner sa démo sur une ATI rage 2, qui date de 1996 ^^. Cette démo n'a même pas vraiment été conçue pour tourner sur cette carte à la base. Ces deux cartes sont pas très dures à trouver encore de nos jours, si tu est un français (ou belge, ou suisse, peu importe, tant que c'est en europe. En amérique ou en océanie par contre c'est plus compliqué) sur les sites de petites annonces ont les trouve assez facilement pour pas cher

That's not incredibly bad, frame-rate wise. I remember being stuck with a Rage IIc (despite having one of the most powerful CPU at the time) and literally could not find any 3D game that could run on it, and I was so sad...

There were worse cards out there, still the performance of the Rage II is rather limited.

Down to 3.2 FPS...Man, oh man, it REALLY struggled to render that graphics card!

Please read the description. The ATI Dawn Tech Demo was made for Rage 128. It is running here on a Rage II which is a chipset that is technically a few generations earlier.
