The Braves moved to cobb county because they were able to build out the village around the park "battery" and they control the whole area and gain rent from each business (another revenue stream) The city of Atlanta held control of all the land surrounding Turner field and could never come to an agreement with the Braves on how and when that surrounding vacant land would become avalible for use. To bad a stadium that was only 20 plus years old was vacated.
Also they moved outside of the city limits of Atlanta ; meaning less taxes to pay. And plus downtown Atlanta is sketchy. Best move for them to move out of downtown .
@@747heavyboeing3 yet they didn't and Truist is still great. Also this is georgia, where the weather is bi polar 🤷♂️ Outside baseball trumps inside baseball all day every day
Parking at Turner Field was horrendous. Smack dab in the middle of Downtown Atlanta. Driving in and out after the game there was always a traffic jam. At least 1-2 hours to get out of Atlanta. Truist Park being located on the outskirts makes it much easier
