Having grown up in GA and watching Smotlzy & the fellas during the 90's, I wanna say there is no more humble human being to be as accomplished as he is and his ability to roll with the punches...Thanks for the memories & Ben thanks for the Saturday talks with him.

I don't know about John's notion that the NL West is more balanced with the Giants Padres and D-backs playing well... as I look at the standings, the Dodgers are the only team in that division currently over .500.

Dodgers “somewhat mediocre” = 3.5 game lead in the West. They currently have 10 pitchers on the IL.

Thought the AL East was the best division from top to bottom going into the season and still feel that way now. All three wildcards could conceivably come from there.

I don't know about Ben, but back in the day Smoltz would switch lanes to run over your dog if you were in the NL West. I saw him skin and eat some Nomo guy in a CG during that dude's ROY season. Edit: my bad, eight innings.

Thanks, Ben. I feel like some of the current generation don't understand how much of a tyrant Smoltz was back in the day. I saw him dive with a fractured left arm to pick up a grounder on the first base side for an out. Baller.

Yeah that was BS , Nomo was not a rookie, he played several seasons prior in the japanese league. Chipper Jones was the REAL ROY but MLB gave it to Nomo cause they thought him winning was a better story

lol how many more games do the Astros lose to say they are “not fine” there bullpen is awful but people will say “ but there rotation is injured”. There bullpen has been the worst part about them.
