The Atlanta Falcons have reconstructed much of their roster entering Year Three of the Fontenot and Smith era. Finally operating free of salary cap restrictions, ATL took advantage of NFL Free Agency to bring in more pieces of their shared vision. With the NFC South a division in transition -- and potentially vulnerable -- the Falcons have as good a chance as any to make some noise in the NFC.
A "work in progress,' Atlanta will have to mold this into a cohesive team and prove their mettle, but the Falcons (new and old) should be walking in with a decent sized chip on their shoulders. Arthur Smith appears to have established the offensive identity that he wanted, and now has the players to execute it. Bringing in new DC Ryan Nielsen with a fresh approach to the defense's attacking mentality will inject life into a long dormant pass rush.
It's time for this team to seize the opportunity. It's time for Atlanta to back up their words. It's time for the Falcons to raise some hell.
