My Grandma used to eat her greens and cornbread with her fingers. Growing up seeing her do that made me feel like it was a down south way to eat greens and cornbread.😊
Been in ATL 4 years and have always struggled to find good food. Everyone trying to tell you about these fake bougie "Luxe" places that are trash. This is the most real video and I got it saved to finally try some decent food. Been trying to figure out what ATL is known for. So thank you cause Instagram & Tik Tok will send you to some trashy wanna be trendy places.
I could tell the rib tips were tender by the way da meat 🍖 slid off da bone when he was eating it. I also could tell it was good by da way he was licking his fingers & smacking. I'm from da Chi & we love Rib Tips up dere we don't like slabs as much. Try da RIcketts BBQ they good as well.
They have definitely went down the last 2 or 3 years. I use to like to visit for the brunch vibes but most of the places have either shut down or quality isn't the same.
Exactly can you use all his food stamps up now he's on his way back to his Section 8 housing lifestyle in the ghetto you can't make this up Black Folk stand up get off the street and get a job these young men are doing their thing
I first heard of JJ's Rib Shack in the rap song "Soul Food" by Goodie Mob. It's refreshing to see it actually exists being the song was released back in 1995.
Boy we been eating greens with cornbread before you were born😂😂😂They used to feed us "pot liquor " aka green juice with cornbread before we had teeth😂❤ I love your content
He must have missed out on that good good good food growing up. We were blessed cause we ate that southern soul food and it was delicious. Most of these men just want some good home-cooked meals.
I went to her spot a few times. I tried to walk in and got cussed out. She only did one hour tables. HUGE burgers made right in front of you by hand. Memorial Drive historical site.
What you know about miss Ann over there on Boulevard the original ghetto Burger behind c o a n Middle School in Edgewood I remember when ghetto Burgers was 75 cent yeah it was in the seventies they were off the chain then
I’ve been in Atlanta for over 10 years. Back when I used to eat meat and lived in Riverdale, there used to be a Big Daddy’s on Riverdale Road. It used to be so good on certain days and they had a fried chicken lunch special that was affordable and I would get wings, yams, mac and corn muffin. Good portions and I used to get it several times a week. The only reason why I said certain days because some days the food would not be it and the cashier told me it’s because that’s the days the Mexican cook would be cooking. I’m assuming this is the same Big Daddy’s because they eventually moved from Riverdale Road. They held me down my first 2 years when I was new to Atl and kinda broke lol. Never heard of Corey’s and I’ve been a vegetarian for about 8 years now so I never went to JJ’s. Good content my guy!
We love JJ’s Rib Shack but it takes forever. I haven’t been in years . I never heard of Cory’s spot and I’m from Atlanta but I don’t go on Simpson rd . I will go early one day and get my food and go . Thanks for reviewing Big Daddy’s that’s my fam❤
I love Big Daddy's its another that slightly changed over time. They started putting pimentos in the dressing I stopped going and go to Q's in East point for my soul food. Thumbs up Diner is a good place too. Its so many good food places in Atlanta to try. Lickty Split is good too.
Yall be so hard on people who aren’t from yall area. He said what he said and corrected hisself in the comments. Chill a little bit. I promise it ain’t that serious…
See this why I like how they do reviews, they really be outside with it and that still keep it honest and genuine with you. Ya’ll still should try Mr. Everything and Gutbusters.
This was my first time coming across your channel. My husband and I were watching, Love at First Bite, and then other videos came up. We truly enjoyed it. My husband reminded me that I had to study… but I subscribed😊
JJ’s use to be amazing It’d take an hr or more, and have a line out the door. It’d force ppl to talk and mingle in true southern style. Yet the food would always be super fresh and true to soul food. The older woman that use to do most of the cooking and organizing has since passed and her sons have taken over … and it doesn’t have quite the same feel, but I love it’s still open and successful.
My neighborhood you right up the street! I never ate JJ's but those customers line the block for that food. They take up the parking lot at JJ's the liquor store, the hair salon next door and even both gas stations!
When I saw you eat the greens and cornbread with your fingers and you knew the secret to good potato salad is a little sugar I was like yep. Southern born and raised. Coming from Spartanburg SC
Been living in the A for 3yrs thank you for these hidden gems spots bruh. Love your energy to bruh definitely gonna follow this guy work you funny is hell bruh lol. Be bless
JJ's rib shack is a ATL staple but I havent been in years so not sure if its the same. I hate that Ms.Anns Snack Bar in Decatur closed, you wouldve loved her
Hell no, people dine here in Houston does the same with sugar or salt in grits. Plus we have the best food in the US and more restaurants than any other city. Facts not opinions. Louisiana right there with us cause they all stay here😁😁best recipes in the world for any food.💪💪once we leave from here, the food gets nasty and nastier 🤣🤣
I’m from Simpson rd that’s where you were at when you went to Cory’s spot! That’s the real trenches you damn near in the bluff!! You went to all the right places that Atlanta natives eat at! Keep up the good work shawty
The bum that kept begging for food got on my nerves, you gotta know how to nicely tell people you want them to leave you alone. He would've kicked rocks a long time ago if it was me frfr
My grandma told me this and I’ll never forget: never trust a man without a watch, and never trust a man with a mustache. “U 2 for 2!” Love the channel, Alex! I can’t wait to watch your show on Netflix in 2026 🤫😏
Alex I know what ya meant bro and peep this I have been watching you for a lil bit. You hit Atlanta and I'm like I'm subscribing before I see the end of the tour! It has been so bomb so far thanks for letting us all in on you and cams experiences I love it. ❤
I gotta say that seeing a hockey game being played on the big screen in a "Hood Spot" is one of the most surprising and unexpected things I have ever seen in a youtube video of any kind. That was a true "WTF" moment. They even had the volume up so you know it is was no fluke that it was on. 😂
Everybody from Louisiana say they ha e the best food but a lot of people i know that's not from there say the same Thang, my sister is a Grambling Alum and she go to Louisiana atleast 3times a year and she loves yall food , plus I cut hair for N.O. barbershop I Atlanta the owners are from there!!!❤
