Glen makes a great point that Bey was trying to fit to Quin’s system. I just dont see Hawks paying him the bag to keep him though. If he was a better shooter, or a better defender that would be different. Hawks are probably regretting giving Dre the bag either, and I see something similar to JC happening with Dre, where he will be pushed out, unless he has a breakout season. I always thought Dre could be the number 2 option in Hawks, and he has been a big disappointment IMO.

Brad, if Murray is traded could Hunter function at the two? Could we shift Hunter, Johnson down a position so that we are bigger across the board providing that we address the starting PF position? Hunter, although a bigger player, is similar offensively to Caldwell-Pope; off ball offense, catch n shoot, defense first. Would he/we benefit from a move like that?

Hes too big to be a shooting guard thats why point forwards like JJ Zion and Lebron are so coveted Deandre is a forward who can sort of shoot the 3 and sort of get hot but he's a forward first who's ideal role is 3 and D but emphasis on D I like the Caldwell Pope comp but hunter is bigger and arguably better but that comes at the cost of ball handling. Hunter can't dribble or facilitate and I love Jalen but not sure he's quite the point forward yet we'd have to see how the season plays out before making such a big adjustment. Otherwise if they Trap Trae you're out of reliable offensive ball handlers.

@@humptydumpty1929 Ok. Hunter's defense on opposing SGs would be extremely beneficial to our overall defense, agreed? Does Caldwell-Pope really handle the ball like that? If Trae is trapped don't you think Hunter can handle it in a 4 on 3? If he can't then he really is overpaid. This all hinges on upgrading the PF position. Whoever starts at the 4 must be able to spread the floor. With Trae, Hunter and TBD power forward that's plenty of outside shooting which allows Jalen to slash/facilitate and helps the guy in the middle get easy looks. This also gives us 3-4 above average defenders on the floor all at once if you include Clint/Sarr/Okongwu. Thoughts???

@@humptydumpty1929 If we can't trade Hunter then we've got to find a way to utilize what he's good at. I mean we did missed the playoffs so we shouldn't be afraid to try different approaches. GSW "stumbled upon" the death line-up out of necessity due to injuries. Pascal Siakam was a SF until Kawhi was traded to Toronto... then all of a sudden he's now a PF? Do we even have a "defensive lineup"?

They’ve kinda moved Hunter moved defending at POA up the spectrum because he isn’t the best at navigating screens and containing small guards now. That would be the concern. It helps to get bigger defensively but you need somebody to defend top guards.
