76ers were scared. Hawks played like they knew they were gonna win from the tip. Look at gallinaris intensity and the look on his face vs joel and simmons. Your two all stars look less ready to perform on the big stage than a glorified 6th man. Shows how much of a difference mentality and confidence makes.
when i saw the match up as a hawk fan ofc it was tuff to see who we were going up aganist but the first game showed hawks wanted all the smoke and they did that year
@@givingyousportsfrommyview responding after a year? 13 people agreed with me so i guess none of us watched the game. i think it's more likely that you are a sixers fan that is upset
Came here from the JJ Redick podcast where Thybulle acknowledged his foul on Huerter was the dagger, and recognizing that his gaffe flew under the radar because of all the Simmons hate.
i don't know how you can lay the blame on one player for this sixers loss honestly. If anything simmons made 2-3 deflections that could've turned this game around as well as almost locking down young for these last few mins. i think the turning point was Thybulle's foul on Huerter which gave them enough of a buffer. The whole sixers team didn't execute in all the little things to get the win. My guess is the issue with simmons is not on the floor but its in the locker room.
Why? Cause they booed them for being heavily favored to sweep this series against a 5 seed as the #1 seed and lost on their home floor in 7? Should they not be upset about that? Y'all different
@@muchwithamouthdogepool255 I'm watching this for the first time. Basically because Thybulle admitted on J.J. Redick's podcast that it was his foul and not Ben Simmons' passed up dunk that lost Game 7 for Philly. 🤷
@@deanadomaitis3663 bro the foul did not the Ben Simmons thing. When that happened it was 3 minutes left & they were only down 1. Theybulle fouled , they went up 4 with like a minute left that's a huge difference
Taking a closer look at this game, Ben did what Ben was good at, defense and playmaking. He held Trae to 5-23 shooting and had 13 assists (only 2 turnovers). It's very easy to scapegoat Simmons as the only reason they lost, he was the biggest reason, but he wasn't the only reason. Embiid turnover sealed the game, and Thybulle's foul on Huerter's 3 point attempt made things difficult for them. Tobias Harris went 8-24, this team has issues, not saying Ben did nothing wrong, his free throw demons kept him from scoring the ball which is why they lost this series.
I watched almost every game of the series but fell asleep on this one cuz it was at 3 am or something. Still hurts that I missed this one. My friend is a sixers fan and my heart would've dropped after every shot, steal, rebound etc
I give the hawks my respect for getting where they are right now, at least their star player didn’t injured the other team star player for leverage… well if u can’t beat them injure them
Embiid in clutch is terrible didn’t score in the last 3 minutes, doc River putting thybulle in and committing 3pt foul was stupid but both of them blamed Ben but it was really all of their fault
I mean tbh they to deserve part of the blame no doubt but Simmons being a bad free throw shooter and a offense liability put them in a position where the mistakes of role players were making or breaking their season
@@rohangupte3545 every person has a flaw in there game. Ben Simmons being a terrible free throw shooter and a offensive liability still got them best record in the East. His play wasn’t the best but they still had a great opportunity to win. Best player in embiid goes for 30 but can’t score in the final 3 minutes. Doc rivers put in his best defensive lineup and a role player made a foul. It’s no way they should blame Ben to the media like that. I wouldn’t want to play for a coach and a teammate like that either.
@@steviewilliams7293 but this wasn’t just one bad playoff performance this has been an issue for years now an organization can only do so much to motivate you if you aren’t willing to make an effort but now there are talks saying Rich Paul is gonna bring him back to Philly so will see
Wow looking back this now, this game 7 L wasn’t all on Simmons. Yes I understand he played terribly this whole series but this game was so winnable for them other players made mistakes. Then Doc and embiid really blamed this L on him. That’s garbage
Honestly, I don't see Ben as the worst in these last 3 minutes. IMO, Joel shoulda picked some guys or found his spot closer to the basket. He grabbed the ball at the top of the key. That's why the rest of 76ers had to just stay at the corner and didn't get to touch the ball even they have some fine shooters like Seth or De' Anthony. Tho Ben's free throws were catastrophic yet they did have a chance to back it up.
Simmons passes up the dunk/lay up down by 2 with 3mins 30secs remaining. Thybulle stupidly fouls Huerter down by 1 with 55secs remaining. Embiid badly turns it over down by 4 with 44secs remaining. Can someone logically explain why Ben was at fault for this loss?
he shot 20% from the free throw line, played mediocre defense, and is a lot of the reason for the embiid turniver because theres no reason to even cover simmons at that point
lol i love 10:20...."dont throw anything on the floor or youll be ejected immediately" lol there is less than 5 seconds left in the game, and their team is just about to get eliminated from the playoffs...they can care less about getting ejected from the game at that point.
@@zellie7th that's good but he could've done even better if he tried on the plays where he clearly shut down mentally. They won't win with or without him 🤣
1:10, Ben Simmons and Seth Curry screw up the Huerter-Young screen, Simmons doesn't go over the screen like he should, gets in Seth Curry's way, lead to a wide open shot for Trae Young
Classic biased example of someone watching a game and not even understanding what happened. Curry failed to stick to his man and his poor positioning blocked Simmons from closing Trae out. Yes, Simmons should have communicated with curry to switch there, but even with that 3 make, trae was 2-11 from 3PT on the night. That’s as much as you can shut him down and I can’t blame Simmons for knowing that a switch likely would’ve led to the same 3PT make.
Seth does impede Simmons a bit, but not enough that he truly couldn’t make a recovery with his size/wingspan. Gives Trae too much space thinking he wouldn’t pull from there at that moment.
In a hilarious way this series and their success early destroyed the Hawks. They went all in with the DJ trade just to be dog shit and perennially play in
A lot of reasons they lost but ben took all the blame. He was a player whose confidence was beginning to wane and the 6ers did nothing to help. Doc is a garbage coach.
but was clamping up lol trae was 5/23 from the field cause of ben. sure he had a bad offensive game but he was making up for it defensively and with his passing
Sixers fan needs to remeber this.. like sixers are jus cursed in playoff they lost to seed 5 hawks who was literally not talked at all that year but beat sixers.. were then seed 1 and then 2022 lost to heat.. yall sixer talk mad shit but is literally in the same boat as us hawks.. and get this we only have a superstar when you guys had a better team overall and stars lmao y’all bad
ben was the reason yall stayed in the game, trae wouldnt have gone 5/23 from the field if simmons isnt on him lol, deflected the ball like 3-4 times in the last 3 minutes but the team couldnt execute, especially the guys who are known for their OFFENSE. Cant wait for ben to put yall to shame. philly will always be philly
