This is how you restore an MCM house. When these were built, they were at the vanguard of design so when redone, that same amount of attention to using materials that are modern day design-forward is what makes these homes sing again. It’s a shame when you walk into an MCM house to find shaker cabinets or other ubiquitous design features of the day. Kudos and then some to the team that is doing these homes justice.

Totally agree!! So many of these gems are stripped of their original beauty and painted grey and white. much of the stone work and ceilings were restored on this home. The GC did an amazing job with the execution. I did the design even though kitchen and baths aren't truly mcm, I tried to give a nod to the original while brining in the new. Wish I had made a before video because it was such a dramatic transformation. Thank you for your kind words and watching the video!

We bought an MCM and removed the tile flooring and professionally refinished the original perfectly intact terrazzo floors. Removed tge "updated" windows and put in new clean ceiling to floor windows as was the original. The house now sings and everybody loves how bright and sunny it is.

Yes, the GC who renovated this home only does his own projects that he sells. He also did the one on (965 Liawen Ct. ) see video on this channel and he's currently working on a 70's modern tree house renovation and then he has another project lined up after that. I keep thinking that the mass-brainwashing and creativity-FREE scourge of white on white on white on white on white on white on white on white will DIE A QUICK DEATH someday but it sure as Hell doesn't look like that's gonna' happen anytime soon. And ALL BLACK EXTERIORS on houses is HORRID, too!!!

Ours was painted everything grey. Yuck! Now the white refurbished terrazzo and white ceilings looks fantastic against nice aquatic light colored walls.

If this is the house on Leslie it’s back on the market with some additional changes. They redid a redone kitchen and it’s now very minimalist with dark cabinetry that for me personally is too sterile and less inviting than what’s shown here. I hope they recoup the cost of remodeling an already beautifully remodeled kitchen. They may well do it as it is still a stunning home.

Yes, the sellers did totally redo the kitchen. I've seen it in person, and although I prefer a lighter color against the dark ceiling, It is a very beautiful well designed kitchen with german cabinetry. It's hard to capture the dark color in pictures but it's very high quality. When they redid it, they didn't have any plans on moving, but life happens :-)
