In every season, we ride the roller coaster of highs and lows. This year presented us with some particularly challenging periods, but in the grand scheme, it was a season with some nice catches of magnificent big Atlantic salmon. Through the tough times, we explored a myriad of tactics - from nymphing with small trout nymphs, Kursk and Frances variants, to the thrilling techniques of hitching, bomber fishing, and the full spectrum of swings from surface to bottom with traditional flies. My personal highlight? Hitching and skating flies stole the show, culminating in an unforgettable moment when a colossal salmon rose to the surface in a high and flooded river. What an exhilarating experience!
