A tip to improve the sound in this video and the engine room video, is to run a low-pass filter on the audio in post-production. If your software allows you to set the frequency, you can try a bit with the 120-150Hz area for cutoff.

When I was three, my family crossed the Atlantic on board a ship and we passed through a strong storm. One night my father, who had an iron stomach, as he liked to say, was the only passenger to show up in the dining room for dinner. This video has given me a good sense of how it must have been on that night so many years ago. Thanks!

In my 10 years in the US Navy and multiple Atlantic crossings, we always had at least a day or two of weather like that. Securing well for sea was always a steep learning curve for those new to the experience. Now for some really interesting weather, head up to the north Atlantic in the fall as the weather shifts. Glad you two are having fun!

There's a reason the old sailing navies used hammocks. First of all, they don't take up as much space (and when each man is officially allocated eighteen inches between his hammock and the next one over, that's a big deal), but second of all, you don't fall out of them as easily as a cot when everything's rolling.

The mast oscillations are not good, I think the wings are contributing, the other masts without wings seem to move less. The rolling before the course change is a great demonstration of how the brace welds become crucial in keeping cargo from shifting, just a few poor welds would be catastrophic. But just in case, I think I would spend as little time on the yacht as possible, just enough to secure things, and then remain in the superstructure.

@nzcyclone
@nzcyclone 2 года назад
Yes, as the Yacht Express is responsible for the safety of its cargo in this case the yachts on board. But, Tristan is also there. He is the captain of the AWOL. A captains job never sleeps. Does not matter that the boat is out of water. Tristan as that ships captain is responsible for that vessel. Sure it is the responsibility of the carrier but also Tristan has a responsibility too. He must make sure his vessel is safe at all times..... Remember the three rules of a captain. 1. Crew/passenger safety. 2. Vessel safety and 3. environment safety.... If I am wrong. I stand to be corrected but pretty sure am not.
