I have the same speed controller on my mini lathe. When I turn it on, there is buzzing sound that comes from the treadmill motor. Does yours make a buzzing sound too? Thanks for sharing by the way.

The motor that was in it for this video, if it ran slow, it hummed like it did on the treadmill. The motor in this video passed away. Apparently it had a lot of hours on it before I got it and adapted it to my lathe. I replaced it with a Leeson 3.5 CHP motor out of a much more expensive treadmill I picked up cheap, and it is smooth as silk, does not buzz or hum, and doesn't slow down at all under load even at low rpm's. And it's a lot quieter.

@@JohnnieBravo1 Thank you very much. I will definitely check the motor that you mentioned. Im not satisfied with the current one that I have. Thanks a lot.

What change does it make on thread cutting speeds?

the gear change mod I made cuts the carriage travel to rotation speed in half. I hope I pointed that out in the video, but it's been a while and I don't remember for sure. So the thread count per inch will be exactly twice the chart, and the travel in inches per revolution will be half the chart.

@@JohnnieBravo1 Cool, thanks. So as long as you know the ratio, it's just a matter of figuring the thread rate. You did cover it, I watched it a second time.

A little clean up necessary.

yeah, I did that vid right after running some aluminum parts. It doesn't usually look that swarfy, but again I probably don't keep it as clean as I should.
