I have to be honest. I wasn't expecting much BUT I actually liked it. It's not critically acclaimed but not a bad movie. I bet if there was another name besides "Jennifer Lopez" as the lead the reviews wouldn't be as harsh.
Thats the only negative for me. Surely there are better actors they could have gotten for her role. She hasn’t been relevant for quite a few years now.
I saw it out of boredom, I thought it would be terrible, and I surprised myself laughing and I even liked it, I think the movie is an 8, very good, enjoyable.
Yeah agreed, i feel like the story is more about the connection between the human and the ai. Just feel like some of the dialogue is kinda clunky, but wouldent know how to do it better 😅. So solid 7 tbf
yes… and the sad thing is… that a lot of people take these negative reviews to make up their minds and won’t even give the movie a chance…. if based on this review i would have never watched this…. was this a masterpiece of course not… but solid performance by jlo and quite entertaining
Same here .. I watched the movie before his reviews and I’m quite suprised by how he blindly refused to say a single thing good about the movie.. shocked and disappointed by his review… kinda broke my trust
It was good. I didn't fall asleep and didn't have to hit the fast forward button. JLo best movie since Anaconda. Simon Lui was a great robot villain with decent CGI. This is girl boss done right. Throw in Warhammer and it's a winner.
@@obimigu3822 It was good. Solid 7 for me, action and story was decent but I had a few nitpicks with how Atlas at 100% was able to take on an entire base of enemies, but the rest of the rangers couldn’t handle 6 it seems like at their drop spot when there were at least 30 of them? It could because of atlas’s higher intelligence but it seems a little lazy to have Atlas be the one incredible ranger just starting as a pilot but that is the plot armor of the movie, and wishes to see more of the colonel. Otherwise action was phenomenal I loved seeing a new version of Titan fall
I ended up having it on in the background and on my phone because the movie failed to hold my attention. Looked up once every so often … but definitely watched better movies 🍿
@MrGriff305 let's go get the bad guy, oh wait, it's a trap. We also guessed how the robot rebellion got started and the AI turns out to be alive at the end. We saw all of those coming.
I just finished the movie, and I'm really surprised by all the hate there is towards it... it's not a masterpiece but it's definitely not the worst thing I've seen this year. It was fun and emotional at times.
Depends what type of movie goer you are. You probably a watch and enjoy type that can suspend thier disbelief. Others are put off by small things like SPOILERS AHEAD Smith saying atlas will die if the suit battery dies because of no oxygen. Few minutes later she tied up outside with no oxygen but is fine. Harlan is earth's biggest threat and they send a handful of cocky soldiers to save them, just to die before they even arrive. Supposedly smart AI takes almost 30 years to come up with a genius plan that could've been conceived in 3 minutes. Robots battery dieing doesn't think to take the batteries on the fallen robots. It's all just really stupid writing. The list is endless. It's mindless entertainment. If you watch mindlessly it's okay but some people can't. Mindless in the sense you didn't pick up any of the many inconsistencies in the movies logic.
All movies are predictable and recycled stories. But it's still a fun watch. The movie business is an old business now so it's hard to come up with new ideas.
@@AustinBurke not every movie has to be inventive or innovate. The action is nice. The effects are good the script isn't great but J Lo is a good actress and does a good job. I found it enjoyable to watch. Was it an amazing experience? No. But not everything has to be... there is a hate mentality of any movie that releases that is not a breakthrough...
I mean this is obviously your first time here. I’m known to be pretty positive on a lot of movies that get a lot of hate. It takes something really poor quality to get me worked up. Not every movie has to innovate, but if we let studios get away with things this lazy, we are in big trouble when it comes to what they’ll keep putting out. I found this to be lazy through and through. There are so so many good movies that people don’t see because they don’t drop on Netflix their opening weekend and star J Lo. I encourage you to seek those out.
@@AustinBurke yeah I watched plenty movies... not just on netflix... believe me... the movie was enjoyable to watch. There are plenty good movies and there are way more worse movies so your point is kinda null here. Again the movie for me is a 5 or 6, and is fine. Is a turned off your brain and enjoy silly sci fi movie.
@@AustinBurke but you have your opinion I have mine. We can criticise every movie but it seems lately there is a hate wave. Anything new that releases gets hate for 1 or other reason, that was my main point.
Very entertaining, mindless fun. Very derivative and to me it felt like a late 80s movie with 2020s CGI and a great performance from Lopez. A proper 7/10 movie. The hate come from those that can monetise it.

It was good but I noticed that if one channel says something is bad, they all join on the same band wagon regardless, the comments on here all loved it but somehow he's acting like its the worst movie ever made, says alot doesn't it.
My wife and I loved this movie. And I'm a sci-fi Fi nerd. It gave me a nice sci-fi fix and it was entertaining. I'm not a big Jennifer Lopez fan but she was great in this role
Just watched it, look, is this movie gonna win any Oscars? No. Is it the best written script? No. Is it the best acted? No. BUT, if you check your brain at the door and just enjoy the ride it actually wasn’t that bad to me, me and my family had a good time with it BECAUSE we didn’t go in with super high expectations in the first place which probably helped.
That's the problems for some people if not most. It's difficult to watch mindlessly. For others even if a talking banana showed up in the movie it doesn't phase em.
What ??!! , rebel moon was far more better, this was like a over emotional hallmark movie with AI robots , j.lo can’t carry a movie these days , all of her recent stuff have been over the top and just cringey, I don’t trust anybody saying this movie had anything good to it
I saw the movie last night. At the beginning ... not very good, but when I heard the robot's voice.......that's BT. This movie is as close as possible to Titanfall. After that it was nice. spoiler alert: J LO doesn't run on walls. 😅
I like how a whole bunch of trained soldiers couldn't survive a combat scenario but a person with no training, unable to pilot her mech is somehow able to not only survive but destroy all of their enemies. I think over all, this would have been better as a mini series with some time taken to establish Harlan, establish whats happening in Earth, establish the neural technology that helps soldiers work with their mechs and do more to establish Atlas herself. We get the trauma but who is she other than that? It's touched on so lightly you might miss it. Also the Casca character, he deserved better. The movie wasn't great but I've seen worse. I'd say it was generic. Tau was WAY BETTER, highly recommend.
i think they didnt train the rangers to fall, if they did they would have survived because all atlas did was fall and land, while the rangers where busy getting killed instead of falllllllllling and landing
They like glossed over it, but mentioned she was a failed ranger solely because of mental trauma, and anti social behavior, other than that supposedly as sharp if not sharper than the rest of them and obviously the analysts part. I tried to think of it more like a jack ryan analyst situation, maybe all icn officers are like CIA. well trained to a point and then a lil more umph for field officers. but maybe they should've put that more forward to make it believable.
@@joraymendoza2334you need to be a trained fighter in order to fight in wars . You don't put a street boxer up against a professional heavy weight for a reason.
@@PinupopinionI’ve been having a titan fall hyperfixation for the past like week, and i thought i was going insane with how familiar it felt to titanfall
While I don’t think it is as bad as seemingly everyone else says it is, Atlas basically forces J-Lo into a two-hour sci-fi BetterHelp Zoom call, and the results are about as exciting as that sounds!
They did place the setting on a distant planet that demanded to be CGI. Kinda blew all the budget on making a realised alien ecosystem on the planet it was based on. Kinda have to be nerdy to appreciate the care put into it, what little was there at least.
I liked the movie and all the new AI Technology❣️👍. In the beginning I thought Jlo’s acting was not believable, however, she got better as the movie progressed.
Biggest flaw was Jlo's character and how she was written. If that same character turned down the drama and emotion 50%, it would have been much more enjoyable to watch instead of grating.
The constant nagging, dryness, emotional tantrums and Karen attitude didn't do it for me. I would have literally preferred a typical boss girl instead of that
JLO was one note , like angry frustrated mad emotion turned up to 11 in every scene for the first 40% of the movie. Also we see a guy get his eye popped out, and within 20 seconds there is a joke scene. Also JLO gets the exact same eye treatment - and she doesnt even get redness while her friend got his eye popped out.... wtf is going on. and the bad AI really left her alive thinking she will die in 5 mins -hence giving her the time to destroy him !??? reallly !!??? also how did 6 initial ai robots kill a dozen rangers - but 200 ai robots getting direct hits on JLO's robot gave 0 damage !!?? the biggest let-down was how human the ai was. somehow after 28 years of thinking it over, it decided that the human form was the best/most efficient form to take.
Lol this is why you always take critics with a grain of salt. It takes armies of effort to create any movie and it takes zero effort to armchair criticize. The movie was not as bad as you said. Not great, but not as bad. Entertaining light watch.
The problem with this movie is that "it was just okay". After watching I struggled for any stand out moment to stick to me but nothing. Still, movie was fun, funny in some parts and action packed.
respect from Romania. why should there be another torture with a film that wants to show us the strong, independent and super-intelligent woman of our times. God is my witness that I endured 1 hour and 4 minutes. I have one more thing to say. in Romania, a sport appeared, fighting in a cage between a man and 2 women. Obviously, the respective girls were beaten hard by that man and the stand was full of spectators. He stood to receive some punches and then he fought back terribly.
Same here, I thought the action was great too. I do wish they had increased the speed of pacing to make the fact that she was running out of air meaningful. She should have always been moving otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed it
I love this movie, I don't understand the hate towards it. The female lead not being overpowered and hella of a bad ass woman at the first moment was cool and refreshing. The fight scene were a bit low but i get it they need to use strat instead of rushing in which is refreshing. The constant battle between distrust with the AI was the whole point of the moment and felt executed with so much raw emotions. I don't care who the actor was I just know this one knew how to express emotions at the right time and right moment. She made me stay in the moment where I didn't need to skip because I may "expect the obvious" I love the way the script words work like "He was supposed to protect you" and "you trusted him" I could really feel the bond at its strongest point after "but astlas, you can trust me" damn chills. Got me in my emotions at that point. People may call this a tantrum with a woman with a bot for the entire movie but I see it as grief and anger being resolved while fighting for her life.....and I'm okay with it. Only part I don't get is why they made some the robot Casca become someone she "Knows" but there wasn't really a backstory to his character other then carrying the commands from harlan.

Glad I didn't watch any reviews prior to seeing the movie. My cousins and I really enjoyed it. Also, this movie made me appreciate J.Lo. She showed so much emotion. We felt it.
People today prefer to enjoy everything they watch, regardless of quality. As long as they fire the right neurons for the millionth time it's good. "Why be so critical?" Because this movie cost $100 million, and that money should go to real creatives. Not to JLo and the director of Rampage lmao.
@YoyMcFroy thank you. Like what you like that is fine but saying this movie is quality just encourages Netflix to give us more of the same. You can like something and it’s not good. You can dislike a movie and it is good but maybe just your cup of tea.

I get its meta right now to hate Jlo and hate this movie and I bet without jlo it would get less hate but this movie was fire. I don't even care about jlo. Just the action and concept of this movie I love and I love the relationship with her ai and the bonding the most. It was a happy moment at the end that could bring a little tear to your eyes.
I’m from the UK and am curious how its currently in #1 spot on the Netflix top ten. Are people just watching out of curiosity and bowing out after 15/20 minutes, but it still counts as a hit? It surely can’t be based on viewer ratings.
This sci-fi film took human interaction with AI to another level. The dialogue between them throughout the movie leads us to introspection. It gives us a glimpse of what might be coming in real life in the not-too-distant future. Just look at what our current ChatGPT is already capable of doing. Smith (the AI) was a protector and advisor to her the whole time, able to understand her childhood traumas and earn her trust to achieve 100% synchronization.
Seriously, what happened to Netflix? They have been making a lot of stinkers lately starting from that Kevin Hart heist movie which i forgot the movie's name
I had two fun hours with a movie where I just sat back and suspended my disbelief. Not everything is going to be the Godfather and nor should it be. I enjoy a movie where I can switch off from the seriousness of the world as much as I enjoy something like say Oppenheimer.
I love the concept of this movie. Jennifer Lopez does her best with the acting in a Jennifer Lopez kinda way. But I appreciate what the movie is trying to do. If it wasn't a high budget film, I would say it's awesome. But I have to say I enjoyed this film very much. I kinda saw the twist coming, and it wasn't like a big reveal that this was all a big plot. But as a. Avid scifi fan. This is pretty good.
It was better than Rebel Moon. But so forgettable. Edge of Tomorrow and Alien have done this thousand times better. Portraying someone thrust into robot armor and building a bad ass band of soldiers. Its been done 1000 times better. So not sure why they did it so much worse here.
I fell asleep during one of the fightscenes. Unfortunately I couldn't go back to sleep for the remainder of this steaming pile of SHIT. J-lo onviosly has a multi-movie deal with Netflix - as it happens I just cancelled my subscription. So this movie did in fact affect me. Holy crap this was horrible. J-lo's ego needs bigger robots to try and act in. Painful.
It wasn't that bad and a heckuva lot better than a Michael Bay movie. I literally fell asleep in cinema watching Transformers fallen Knight as it was completely soulless. At least this was watchable.
It is a Netflix movie, and you can't expect too much. One main problem is that I don't really understand the backstory of Atlas and how her syncing with the villain robot led to her mother wanting to shoot her and the robot intending to destroy mankind. If they want to generate some emotion and guilt feeling for the main character, perhaps there could be a better story. Perhaps it would be a better movie if it plays straight and focus more on the operation of the rangers. Seeing Jennifer Lopez and walking inside a transformer and talking to the CPU isn't much fun.
I genuinely appreciated this movie, it’s a fun movie and could’ve used better cgi however for its budget forgiveable. If you’re going to hate on Jennifer Lopez for this you’re crazy! First off, she can act when she gets into it and this movie didn’t always take itself that seriously, their are a couple of funny moments in it and she even admits and breaks down some of her real life flaws when speaking with her A.I. Body Armor in a humorous way. If you can’t appreciate a good summer popcorn fun movie than you just hate movies . Second, She is very talented and when she performs although not the top vocalist her performances blow out most female performers half her age because she can actually dance, perform, and entertain and puts in the work as opposed to most current top performers who lazily stay in one spot and let the cgi animations take over for them to tell a story. So instead of knocking her as a lazy eye critic keep in mind most of you “critics” couldn’t do half the work she can, respect the art cause last I heard talking behind a screen and laughing at ppl with zero appreciation for what people actually try and present like YOU could do it better ?? Stop the nonsense people, give credit where credit is due! ❤❤❤❤
As soon as I saw what the dialogue was like in this movie through some of the clips in how it was executed, I already knew what we were in store for. Like straight up I don’t know why didn’t just adapt Titanfall.🤷♂️
They straight up ripped from Titanfall in so many ways, especially at the end. I was telling my family "Look, BT is gonna come resue his pilot." I looked like a psychic genius for the whole film.
@@OrionInSpace Oh, I am well aware! I love that game! That's why this movie pissed me off so badly. It doesn't take inspiration from Titanfall. It straight up rips whole parts from the game. It's sacrilege.
@@OrionInSpace Hell yeah! Fellow Titanfall fans unite! I'm so pissed at how they disrespected Titanfall with this film. I cried when I believed BT was dead. This film tries to do the same thing but robs it of the full connection and high stakes you felt in the game. I just knew 'Smith' would be backed up completely. But BT and Cooper were really in genuine peril with no fallback. This movie is just so cheap, stealing from giants to make absolute tripe.
Smith and the main character had such a good relationship, why is there so much negativity in the world where people have to nitpick every single little thing. Just watch it or move on, Jesus. It was on Netflix so we didn’t even have to pay to see it in theaters. Just absolutely negative people all around. Don’t be so full of yourself.
Breaking news: “Movie critic criticizes a bad movie” Wow, shocking. Look, I appreciate the positivity, but my literal job is to review this movie, so if it stinks, I’m not going to lie to you all.
Just saw this and honestly I was not bored. JLo playing girl boss is a heckuva lot better than Natalie Portman playing girl boss. Yes Thor 4 was an abomination. The CGI was decent enough and the mech warrior battle was cool. It's got more soul than a Transformers movie which I fall asleep in cinemas and the human AI friendship bonding is a nice play. Thankfully the movie isn't filled with relationship family drama to pad the run-time. Right off the action starts and builds a simple story without too many characters focusing on JLo and the AI bot.
I actually liked the movie. Just finished it a few minnutes ago. I'll have to admit that the first time I watched the trailer, it really felt a Titanfall movie. That and it was JLo. I ended up watching without the expectactions of hoping it'll be like Titanfall, and I actually enjoyed it. Not the best, but I felt this wasn't a movie made for JLo. I guess that Hollywood typecasting for ya, but I felt another actor could've been a better choice that JLo.
Tried getting thru it but just couldn't take more of a analyst in a robot that turns into a saviour, graphics r awesome , our current a.i seems to have opened up sci Fi to another level. Beyond that it's a upgraded Rambo style movie. It's a good watch if ur only other option is to watch grass growing !
People just wanna criticize things they aren't even capable of doing, this movie is Good but I guess it's easier to just hate unnecessarily. There was no trying hard, there was no cringe.
i completely disagree with all your review, you are focusing in your frustration of Jennifer's attitude on her movie roles. Sorry first and last time I am in your channel, you don't have anything good to say...
This review, in a somewhat way, captured my thoughts after watching the movie. It was a "meh" movie and needs a more complex story-line.... Out of 10, I would give it a 6/10
Don't know about any of you but for me it was a great movie ngl. Good that I don't read or watch reviews before watching the movie it gives your own honest feelings about it untainted by other Critics who wants to make an issue about it just for content, which is more cringe.
Alas, at the mere 8-minute point, I found myself compelled to give up this movie. Life’s too short for such subpar entertainment. One might venture to watch a film starring the J.Lo if they show her as the sexy lady she is but the baggy clothes left me no doubt that she wanted to be considered a serious actor and I can't do that, especially when she is so careless with detail. But what truly made me give up on this movie was the computer chess game. In the great game of chess, one cannot be in check and yet deliver a checkmate - a rule as timeless as the game itself. When such elementary principles and details are ignored, it begs the question: what other liberties might they take with the truth? A film that neglects such details hardly seems worthy of one’s time.”
i think the ending is interesting. by ending i mean smiths miraculous come back, it kinda made me think that smith, atlas and harlam are the same entity. like even the entire war thing might have just been harlams way of fullfilling atlas's command. idk😅😅😅
I just finished this movie. Heres what i think. It's NOT good. It will be towards the bottom of my ranking at the end of 2024.. However, In my opinion. It's perfectly watchable. Sure it uses a lot of standard sci fi cliches and we've seen this type of story before. But it has just enough in there to get me slightly interested in whats going on.
J Lo's character was so inconvincing, volunteered to come along with the😢 mission. But when disaster happened, she reacted and behaved like a DUMB analyst. Shouldn't be she acted more clever and intelligent to survive than panicking and acting DUMB😮
I honestly liked it just for the fun of it. It isnt a masterpiece at all. It's not revolutionary. Not even very thought provoking, but, it is a fun ride. Do I think it deserves a reward for best film? Hell no. Will I probably watch it again for shits and giggles? Yeah! Im a sucker for robotic characters and mechs.
It isnt masterpiece but god damn people are more worst than this movie, its like they live to apread hate, Harlen must decided to blow earth after seeing people toxicity 😂
Just wanted sick Vfx and action. I got it. Didn’t expect it to be so good with all the negative reviews. I think this is being overly hated on, it’s way better than other Netflix films. Looks better too.
