For your next trip to Marrakech you need to book a day trip tour to the Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains.
The tour includes a pick up from your Marrakech hotel or Riad, followed by a 1.5 hour drive into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains where you’ll be immersed in the natural beauty of this area and the culture of the Berber peoples.
The hike itself takes around 1-2 hours and in some parts is rather steep and involves some mountaineering - though rest assured your friendly tour guides will be there to help you every step of the way. The group often stops for breaks to enjoy the wonderful waterfalls and epic views from the top.
After the hike you’ll enjoy a complimentary Moroccan lunch at a riverside restaurant where you’ll have a choice of starter, main and dessert which is included in the tour - I recommend ordering the Djaj Mqualli (a chicken, olive & citrus tagine).On your way back to Marrakech, you’ll also make a stop at a local village where you’ll be welcomed with Moroccan mint tea and Moroccan khubz (bread) with honey and peanut butter.
