In this tutorial I will show you how to use the funny singing pumpkins (Jack O' Lantern Jamboree) from AtmosFX. I will show you the basic setup of the AtmosFX pumpkins and what you need to do it. The scenery I'm showing here is an AtmosFX projection I had in use Halloween 2020. The funny and singing pumpkins created a good mood for young and old and everything was happy about the songs, the stories and the grimaces of the pumpkins. It is very easy to set up such a digital projection at your own Halloween party. I'll show you exactly what you need and also how the whole scene is built up step by step.
AtmosFx is a provider of digital projections from the USA. In this video I use projections from Jack O 'Lantern Jamboree 1 and 2, which you can purchase as a digital download from AtmosFX.
USE THE following affiliate link to buy videos of AtmosFX and support my channel: AtmosFX:
Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree 1: affiliate.olds...
Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree 2: affiliate.olds...
Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree 3: affiliate.olds...
The scenes from Jack O 'Lantern Jamboree not only have the projections shown in this video. There is also projection for the window and for the wall. So you don't necessarily need the setup shown. But in my opinion, this structure ensures the best effect and can be set up more flexibly, because the bench and the projector can be set up anywhere. Otherwise a wall or a window is always required.

This is a great video! I was trying to find a video on how to hide the projector without using a tombstone. The wooden crate looks great with the pumpkins. Can you tell me where you got a wooded crate with a shelf? I'm trying to search Amazon, but not having any luck.
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter 3 года назад
Thank you very much 🙂 In this case the wooden crate is a DIY project. Unfortunately, I had not had time to create a video about it. The shelf inside the crate is simply hold by 3 brackets. In Germany one can get such crates in the Home improvement store for example. Maybe this is a good place to look at. I build it by my own, because I did not find the right size I need for this project. I hope to create a video about building such a crate after Halloween.

I know this is probably a dumb question but for the speaker do you Bluetooth hook it up to the projector or the multimedia player?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter Месяц назад
No, this is not a dump question. The speaker is linke to the media player. But if your projector supports Bluetooth, you probably can also pair it this way. But in my case it is hooked to the media player :-)

Which mode do you use to get only the mouth, eyes and nose? Mine has the full pumpkin and it don't look PERFECT like I'd prefer. Thank you for your help. It's like a full pumpkin trying to match up to a full pumpkin.
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter Год назад
Hi :-) The mode is called "Pumpkin" When you are on the downloads page, then please check the names of the downloads. For me it sounds like you are currently using the "Hollusion Mode". The title of the download should be something like "Jack O Lantern Jamboree - Pumpkin Mode - Funny Faces" as an example from the "Jack O Lantern Jamboree 1"

@@OldSchoolHaunter What BT speaker are you using?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter 2 года назад
@Fennec Currently I am using the JBL Go2 for the pumpkins. But I would go with the larger brother the JBL Flip next time, since the GO2 is not that loud. And if you have a noisy environment, the GO2 may be too quiet.
@fennec7906
@fennec7906 2 года назад
@@OldSchoolHaunter The JBL GO 3 is also out now. I wonder if It's much better than the GO 2. Halloween where I live is fairly quiet apart from the occasional firecrackers going off. I like that the GO 3 has a strap because I can fasten it down to something so people can't pick it up and walk off with it. Do you use the GO 2 often? Has it held up well? A decent number of people complain about pairing issues/batteries dying in under a year so I'm curious how yours has held up.
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter 2 года назад
@Fennec I use my GO2 on Halloween. I use it during the year sometime, but not very often. And so far I haven't had any problems with batteries dying. So I keep my fingers crossed here :-) I encountered some problems ins audio quality sometimes. So the audio sounds like an old telephone or starts to scratch. So that might be what you say about the pairing/connection issues. But other times it works very well. Maybe the connection is interfered by other electromagnetic fields or so in that case. Bluetooth sometimes is not a very stable connection :-( I took a quick view at the GO3 you mentioned. And you are right. The strap seems to be good for tighten it down, to make it harder to take it away. Thanks for the advice here :-)

Did you ever have any luck putting the projector lower than the bench and angling upward? That's what I'm trying to do right now, but seems this works best when both the pumpkins and projector are on an even level like you show in the video. However, I want the projector lower and angle upward to put the projector in a gravestone or something else closer to the ground to hide that I'm using a projector.
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter Год назад
Using different levels between the pumpkins and projector ist hard to setup, so it looks good. If you want to do this, you should look for thing called "Keystone Correction" At least this is how it is called in projectors in Europe, but I think it is a general term. This is build in to most projectors. On some projectors you can set it up by turning a "wheel" placed at the top of the projector where the lense is. Other projectors can do this using the software. So you should take a look in the settings. "Keystone correction" allows you to setup the projector on a different level and correct the distortion. But this technique has its limits. If it is angled too much, then it can't be corrected. I should try it with my projector and make a short video about it, since it seems to be important :-)
@fennec7906
@fennec7906 Год назад
@@OldSchoolHaunter I've come across keystone correction on a projector before, but I was using that projector on a level surface so I had no use for it, but even from an angled perspective, I guess I don't comprehend it. Like if I'm angling upward from 6" off the ground to something that's 3 feet off the ground then I adjust something called the "vertical keystone" ? With the intention of doing what?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter Год назад
I believe this difference in height is too much for a simple keystone correction. But I'd never tried it. If you angled a projector upwards and you throw the picture onto a wall, you see the image gets distorted and the left and right side of the image are not vertical anymore, they are also angled. The sense of the keystone correction (in this case the vertical keystone) is to make these sides vertical again and to remove the distortion from the projected image. Spoken in simple words. Try it by projecting an normal film to a wall and you will see this effect, when the projector is angled vertically :-)

@@OldSchoolHaunter Just noticed that one of my projectors has an auto-keystone correction feature which is kind of handy. On another note, have you ever had lip syncing issues with your digital decorations? It's so strange, but I was playing Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree 2 earlier and I noticed that while the spoken words and animations were matching initially......after 20 or so seconds, the words fell out of sync with the animations. Using a Epson PowerLite W39 (720p). Tried two different USB drives, two different HDMI cables, and two different media players. Strangely, one scene was properly synced a few times out of 8+, but not consistently. Any idea what is causing this? I also deleted the digital files and transferred them to my USB drives again (they play fine on my computer). My speakers are wired so there should be no issue with BT lag. Am I maybe better off using SDHC Cards?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter Год назад
Great to hear, you have such an auto-keystone correction. In most cases it does the job pretty well :-) About sync issues. I never experienced such issues, but I have to be honest, I did never looked at the synchronization between animation and sound. So maybe I did not recognized it. But I also have a different setup running. I am using a Raspberry Pi as an external player and the projector is connect using HDMI cable. So maybe this is why I never experienced such issues. So maybe you should try to use an external player just for a test run. If this solves the problem, the it maybe an problem of the projector does not managed to decode the audio and video stream of some videos. And so video and audio runs out of sync. But this is only guessing, what the issue might be. Just try running from an external player as a test. Maybe the video itself already contains the issue. What track do you especially talking about here?

@@OldSchoolHaunter You have a bluetooth speaker - when google it says - There is no bluetooth support; hence you cannot connect bluetooth speakers to the Vankyo Cinemango 100 projector. How did you do it- I don't see any adapter or is the video player also brocasts bluetooth?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter 2 года назад
@@chuckger1625 Thank you for the hint. This is something that is described not very good in the video. The Bluetooth speaker is connected to the Raspberry Pi which I use as the player. The Raspberry Pi provides Bluetooth out of the box. The Vankyo projector does not have support for Bluetooth. That is correct :-)

@@OldSchoolHaunter Do you know how many LED lumens it has? Does it have a built-in media player or do you need to connect a media player to the projector via HDMI? Also, do you find you ever lose bluetooth connect/have trouble paring, maybe lip sync issue?
@OldSchoolHaunter
@OldSchoolHaunter 2 года назад
@@raid6994 About LED lumen. The projector does not have such a value in its description. It only stated the projector has 6500 LUX but I didn't find a good conversion to LED lumen 😞 Sorry. The projector I use in the video has a build in player and you can play from USB Drive or SD Card. So you do not need an external player. I use an external Player because the projector has no Bluetooth build in in this case. So if I want to use the projector without an external player, I need to connect the speaker to the projector using a cable in my case. Bluetooth can make some trouble. So I had some connections issues with the sound quality during the evening. The speaker sounded like an old radio from the 50s. I have no idea why this happened. So i quickly connect the speaker to the player using cable and it worked again. Bluetooth can work very well, but it also can make a lot of trouble if you have interferences from other electronics or if you have an obstacle between the player and the speaker. Does this answer your questions or did I miss something?
