Hey James, here's an idea for a video: show us the products that you got the most value out of and that you still use regularly over the years. I'm sure there are some products you got a few years of use out of. Like a product Hall of Fame
when my husband or my children are in the store and they see an as seen on tv products. and he wants to buy it I always tell them nope we have to see if Freakin Review guy has done a review on it first before we buy it love this channel
I bought more about a year ago, zip tied 7 on the upper poles of my chain link fence. During the recent power crisis that we had here in the south, my yard was lit like a stadium as we were walking around. These were probably the best inexpensive solar lights that I have ever purchased!
Thinking about buying this product for both our doors, so thank you for this review. It might not be as bright as the Angel; but, honestly, brighter isn't always better. I want to make sure I don't stumble over anything and can get my keys out, not signal the ISS! The Angel looks like it would be one of those lights that you don't look at directly, because if you do, that ring of light is the only thing you're going to be seeing for awhile! One quick nit-pick: you put the SunBlast in the backyard under an overhang, which I think may have restricted the motion sensor's field of "view". Especially in the first one, you couldn't see the bulb that houses the motion sensor right away, until you got closer.
I amazes me that this product is still on the market. After ordering the two for one offer on T V - One did not work. I returned it and was sent a replacement. This one would not charge the battery. One have it checked, the battery was leaking. I returned it and GUESS What - After placing it in the bright sunlight for a day, again it did not work. On checking - the switch would not switch On or OFF. It seems that you get a replacement of the first one that pick up in the Warehouse.
Yup, looks like COB LEDs which most suck down power. Have a few Promeir COB LED removable light bars in our RV closet. Hi-Lo-Off are the single button settings....left on Lo for a hour and it killed the 3 AA batteries
Bought one worked for one night it's junk highly recommend not buying it's worthless.

@@charleshank8573 I have bought a lot of products from Atomic Beam and they all worked great… except this one and I was furious like hell because I lost the receipt. I bought it at CVS Pharmacy, I turned it on only once for testing and left it sun charging for a week. When I was ready to install it and second test it again, that's it, it never turned on again. ONE FCKG WEEK ! .
Color me impressed. A pretty good long distance super bright motion light. Not bad. Now, let's just see how long it can last. Untested to see when do an update
whatfreedom7 they say two and a flashlight just pay an extra fee. But the extra fee is 19.99. I went on the website and it said like $56.99 plus 9.99 for shipping. So how’s that a deal?
Someone has probably said this but have you tried replacing the rechargeable batteries in the everbrite (may have to take it apart)? Most solar products come with cruddy batteries that don't have much power and don't last very long! Also, I'd use velcro command strips to mount it! Thanks
Michael Scott Mardling these unventors their mentality is just make it and sell it forget the switch let them deal with it. Until someone else comes with a better solution and they're out of business. It doesn't take genius just common sense.😕
Hey, I'm sorry I didn't see your comment sooner; the guy sounded so sad (disappointed) about the tape situation and he mentioned it half dozen times so I wrote "try Velcro", *before* I read that you had written the same thing. And you wrote in a more efficient way. Credit to YOU!! ☺️😊😊😊👍🙋💞🇨🇦 thanks
DjJtown . . . Thank you, but I'm sorry, I'm not sure which words (statement) you're referring to, that should be "copied and stuck on a lot of other people's pages before it gets worn out". Do you mean my apology statement? Or the original comment that Michael Scott Mardling wrote about using Velcro?
Aepek never would have thought to try that but I definitely will. I hate those clam shell packaging. I don’t think they recycle as well as cardboard packaging.
I bought two of these and they didn't last 2 months. I called for a refund and they said that all they could do was send me some replacements so when they arrived they only lasted 3 weeks. They were mounted facing south and got full sun all day so that wasn't the problem. they are just junk in my opinion.
When I first started binge watching your channel, I had no idea what all this information would do for me, besides wanting to buy the items. I work in retail and had a guy buying a coolest cooler, and I told him the pros and cons to inform him of the product. Thanks ReviewBro!
It looks nice enough to be a good over-the-door light for an RV. You could put the screws in part-way and then remove the light when you're not camping, or even Velcro it up. I may have to add one of these to my camper. Thanks for the review.
Yes you can there stupid bright..and pick you up walking a good 30' away and when a car goes by it turns on also. It also speeds a very wide area mine is 8' off the ground.
That's what I'm looking for! A couple for my travel trailer and for my horse trailer. I had a VERY expensive ball hitch stolen while I was horse camping. Have you found anything that works well?
I put a couple in my mom’s back yard for extra lighting in Oct 2018 and they still work fine. When my mom used to step out only her house light was on and these help tremendously.
My ever bright lights stay on low until motion sets them to high. Even when we have multiple rainy days where the sun doesn't come out, my lights work for 3 nights. My lights also detect motion from a wider angle than the one you were reviewing. Not knocking the light as it seems pretty bright. I'm just wondering if there are different specifications the ever bright lights are built to
Talk about weirdness! I saw a commercial for this thing earlier today and wondered if there were any Utube reviews. Lo and behold, several hours later your vid popped up with out me even searching for it. :O
I actually bought mine to charge in sun but use only in the house during power outages. The fact that it comes on by itself is perfect for the bathroom, cellar stairs ect. No tape/screws and just put in a sunny window to keep it charged up when necessary. Using it indoors...although obviously not their intent is perfect!
this is for when cars are driving past. i seen other Solar motion activated lights do this. I think its cause of the shadow/lights from the car. it might be triggering the Motion sensor to turn it on
Motion sensors operate on Infra Red light ie heat. They will detect the movement of any heated object that passes across the line of sight of the detector. The IR sensors are connected to transistors and a change in the amount of IR light from one to the other causes a voltage change which activates the transistors to turn the light on. It has nothing to do with shadows or light. Vehicles will usually only activate a motion sensor if the engine is warm or the vehicle is a different temperature to the surroundings.
Camera man is doing a great job and has lots of patience. Above all........I'm in love with your sweet Bailey, she's the main reason I keep watching! Keep up the good work!!!
The law in our town requires the lamp be focused on the house, however the motion detector can be aimed toward the property line. I had to purchase a system with a separate lamp and detector, so when the peeping tom arrives the lamp will turn on and lught up the home and yard, but not shine in his eyes.
I need to put one on my front seat of my car. It was broken into, glass busted. Not sure if the sensor will work through the glass? Would be a great deterrent?
Probably because no one wants to see your light turn on everytime a car drives passed. The neighbor across the street from me has one that does so every few minutes when cars pass. It gets annoying and is totally impractical. I would rather know that someone is in my yard when it comes on rather than ignoring it thinking its just another car or someone walking on the sidewalk..
Ok normally I'm right along with you on your reviews. But I noticed the blast above the garage you couldn't even see the housing it was so bright. Then when you moved it to the back yard being under that lip it came on. Then at night I could see the housing around each of the blasts lights. I'm wondering if the battery wasn't as fully charged by the end of the day as you originally thought? With that said if your test was accurate I'd get the angel and solder a solar panel to it with rechargeable batteries. But that gets a little involved adding resistors and such in to keep it from over charging and back feeding etc. So prob just get a rechargable battery system and change out the batteries as needed since the angel easily rotates forward. I do like your reviews though. You test things in a way I would and I've only found one other guy aside from you on RU-vid that does it the same way but not for the same type of products. Thanks!
Hey Troy, the sun had set behind a nearby mountain so it wouldn't have gotten any additional light when I moved it. I believe the difference in lighting conditions between the front of my house (where there is a bright street light) and the back (which is almost pitch black) is why it looks different on video in those two locations. The brightness seemed the same in person when I moved it back there.
Freakin' Reviews ok so it sounds like the camera was on auto mode and was adjusted for the street light which would cause the blast to appear brighter. Glad you brought that up. Thanks!
I purchased both the Everbrite and SunBlast solar lights. I like the Everbrite better overall. It gives you some light when you want to know which direction to walk. Also, The Everbrite ran all winter, even when twenty degrees below zero Fahrenheit. The Sunblast does not work at all below freezing. I am looking into other solar lights now, because I also have found the battery is nearly dead after one year. If it was replaceable that would be great. Recently I purchased a Towkka Super Bright 120 LED Solar Lights: Equipped with Eco-friendly 120 LED chips and high-quality rechargeable 2200mAh Li-ion battery. After charging for 1 week, I mounted the lights and found the light the area around the house better than either of the first two in either medium or high brightness mode. But the Dusk-Dawn medium mode kills the batter after 2 to 3 hours. But in the off/bright mode the light works all night, but they could have made it stay on a lot long, like maybe a whole minute.
I needed something like this to go on the side of my barn. I’ve got a bad coyote problem and lights like this will keep them at bay. Thank you for this very Thorough review
Everything looks great except 2 concerns. How long will it continue to work? In the past most lights I've bought only last 6-12 months. The other is how much heat can it take from the North Carolina summer sun?
Yep, you're right, it's great solar powered light, but if you use the adhesive to attach it, accessing the switch in the back is very difficult. That is it's only fatal flaw, they just need to relocate that switch to the bottom or front (if they can). Otherwise, it looks great if you don't want to worry about batteries.
Get a detachable solar one. The half has the button on the front so no need to remove it to make the switch on the different modes. And it allows 5ft or so for the solar end to position it in a light receiving area. 4 pack for 30 or so.
I have a very shaded yard and very few places get enough solar energy necessary (typically 5-8 hours) for a full charge. I use a pair of cheap motion-detecting lights that have a 6' extension cord attached to the solar panel for placement to get optimum solar energy capture. They suit me fine. But I've seen solar lights that range in price from $40 to several hundred dollars for 200 watts or more. Some solar panels can get very large too. For example, the 200W version Cyberdax has a 14.2 x 22.8-inch, 400 LED solar panel with a 16' cord. If you have large wide-open spaces that need more security then that's the way to go.
I appreciate the review. I was thinking about buying this. Good to see the low and high setting you showed us. Also good to know that even cars will set it off. We get a lot of traffic driving by.
Not sure how everyone thinks this unit is supposed to perform, but IMO....it is a light that you put in a spot where at night, when you are walking up....it turns on.....lights up the place till you leave....and then shuts off for the next time....I think it is a pipe dream to think it could be mounted in an area where it could light up a back deck for hours while people party. It has worked perfectly for my application(of which I believe it was intended) .and I will recommend to anyone that needs that function.
Replace the probably 18650 lithium battery in your old light. Fully charge it in a compatible charger and see what happens. Also buy a good Samsung 18650 and not some off brand with crazy maH specs. Anything over 3400 maH is BOGUS!
It is a propitiatory type of battery soldered... could be 2 size "C" type together. Not sure but it was a pain the ass removing and putting back all those freaking small screws.
@@vickyandersen8660 I don't use youtube much anymore but better late than never right? Covid has pushed prices up so $30 is the new $20 I guess, but this two pack is worth it personally. It's holding up so far for me and I love the all night dim mode, though like all lights at this price you only get about a 20ft censor range. www.amazon.com/Solar-Lights-Outdoor-Super-Bright-2500lm/dp/B08DF8X4RG
For a complete perimeter lighting solution try Mr. Beam. Each unit transmits a RF signal that activates the others near it. You can light up the entire area of your home if one is triggered. They had them at Home Depot and Lowe's at one time. It however operates on batteries but works anywhere.
Good stuff I had the older everbright in my backyard for about a year before it died, and it was great for letting the dog out at night, and not having to turn on my brighter backyard lights, and disturbing the neighbors, so if I see this on sale I'll have to pick one up.
I had this light sensor for a long time. The sensor stopped working for some reason, so we threw it away. We also had a easy turn, light up sensor that can rotate while staying on the wall, and can also hang on the ceiling. The problem is, the sensor keeps falling on the ground no matter how sticky it is. I had two of them. The one of them I hung on my dad's house, the other on my house. Both of them kept falling down; the one at my house is the one that broke in pieces! That sensor I had could detect motion 10 feet away. My dad bought 3 black mention light sensors. Two of them at my dad's house, and one at my house. 2 of them fell, and they surprisingly *survived!* I was amazed. One of them almost fell down though, I saved it. So, yeah. That's my whole sensor story.😃
I have had the Atomic Beam Sunblast for several weeks now. It worked good the first few nights. But it does not even come on once the sun goes down. I have it mounted on the corner of the house near my car. I drive up and it does not come on. I stand and wave with no result. A couple of nights ago, just as I was going into my front door, the light came on. I will be removing it and will try to return it to WalMart, but the plastic package was thrown away in the trash weeks ago. I will hope to next use the Angel instead. You do good work sir.
Really liked this review. I will be buying this product so i could use it down here in PR. Huricane season is near and de are still having problems with the electricity here. Keep up the good work love your reviews and God bless.
Nice... but will only work on like a third of the walls, the rest doesn't receive enough light. (You need your sunlight to shine DIRECTLY onto your solar panels if your want them to generate any decent amount of electricity. Anything less, like for instance cloudy days of with overcast to will cause them to to hardly do a thing. Diffuse light has that much less intensity, that's the point.) I notice it also activates during the day when you don't need it and there's plenty of light already.
The things that effect the motion sensor are the size of the object, speed at which the object is moving, color of the object and direction in relation to the sensor. As far as why sometimes it seems to work better than others.. Humidity plays a large part in how sensitive they will be. The greater the humidity, the closer you usually have to be in order for them to work. The brightness appears to be excellent and the photo sensor distance is pretty impressive to. But I would not want it in my front yard as I live on a fairly busy road and it would be going off all the time. I actually have a very good down facing street type light I got from eBay that's about 400 lumens and has a range of about 20 feet, which is perfect as this way it goes off at the end of my driveway but not to the street level, and it has a large solar panel that charges well even on cloudy days. We'll see how well it does in the winter with fewer hours of daylight. So far this looks like a decent product. I'll try one when they appear in stores
Looks nice and bright. I bought some lights on Amazon. 62 Led Solar. Unfortunately shows unavailable now They had switch on the back too. One nice thing. They had removable 18650 batteries. Two each. So they could be replaced. Not just toss the whole light. You might try to disassemble the worn out light see what cells are in it. You may be able to get it working again.
1:18 the light only stays on for 30 seconds? I'm guessing 30 seconds from the last motion detection. So how sensitive is it to detect motions and stay on? Can it pick up, say, a few guys sitting and chatting?
Ok brought two of these and they both do not work...what am I doing wrong?? I screwed them on in perfect line of site of the sun...!! I put settings on high?? Is There a paper that has to be pulled off from the battery I did not notice that
7:44 i’m pretty sure on the ball and Howell’s bionic spotlight that is also on there is a button right on the bottom of the motion sensor three different modes one is basically the on off mode like a regular wired floodlight mode is basically eco-mode which basically acts like the everbrite and the suppress is basically to have it turn off. You don’t need to worry about removing it from the tape and the tape off piece of wallpaper just so you can switch the mode and never tape it on again so unlike bald head products that are lighted based Bell Howell did a smart idea on their version
I saw in a magazine, Dr. Leonard's, has a motion solar power light that hangs on your gutters. I think thoughts would work good all around your house. Bc there hanging from your gutters. Might check those out. I do like how bright the other light is that is batteries in it better. Enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing, Chris
I bought 5 of the everbrites, and 3 are still going strong, they were bought over 2 years ago, since we live kinda in the country, they are great, I've noticed though, if they act like they're dying or dead, I hit the switch and they're back to running, only 1 has that not worked at all for
Lol I seen this on tv and wondered hmm... Wonder if its really bright cause the commercial doesnt really do justice. Haha so thank you you proved to me this is actually a good light.
unless your using the exact same camera to video both lights we personally can not tell which is better since better more upto date cameras can capture more light making videos brighter
Might have to amp this one up. I have the bell and Howell disk lights and they are not that bright but I know those types of LEDs can get way brighter than that.
I liked the atomic light angel. It had a adjustable detector that you could set it up where you could set it to right next to the house or farther out.
Appreiciate your review. What are your thoughts of the Lithium battery spontaneously igniting? Could it be a possibility? Would hate to have the house burn down..
I went to Amazon but what stopped me in my tracks. was all the one-star reviews I saw for this light. It looks like it's a total piece of crap from what they say so I'm going to save my $40 and not get it.
$40 lol where are you seeing this for $40. I just got mine for $10 at dollar general. On sale but the most I ever saw this for was $20. Sometimes they even have the double ones for $20.
The other issue is the light has to be in direct sunlight for it to charge. Most folks will mount it in a shady area where the light is needed. Plus it needs to be on a south facing wall to be effective.
I just seen these and like the others i too was wondering how well they worked. gotta say im quite impressed! Thanks for your reviews saves the rest of us alot of wasted time and $$$$$$
I bought 3 at Walgreen's 2 lasted one night and the 3rd lasted 2 night's . I called the 800# and you can't even talk to anyone about the problem . POS .
Bought 2 of these stupid crap and although they do work, they only work whenever the hell they wanna work... like, they turn on and off for no freaking reason at all for like the first 2 to 3 hours after dusk and then I guess the battery just dies because they both stop turning on at all until the following day that they are recharged and then the same shit all over again. So, I guess I'll just bite the bullet for my $40 bux on these POS!!! Not worth returning.
One of my neighbours opposite have an annoying spotlight that comes on when I drive past at night. What's wrong with people, why not adjust it for YOUR property line NOT the public area!!!
ro63rto Ya, I have a normal motion light installed in the front of my garage run by house power. I adjusted it so it only pops in just as you start driving up the driveway. Not cars driving by. It doesn't even come on walking in the sidewalk.
ro63rto ro63rto Quit your bitchin n be thankful the good guy is trying to deter thieves in your neighborhood for free. It’s a known fact thieves prefer darkness over light.
Derek Irons if the light is constantly going on and off whenever anyone drives by, then no one is going to pay attention to it. That means burglars wouldn’t care either. Annoying your neighbours far outweighs any minor benefit for crime prevention. Angry neighbours are a much bigger threat to your home than a random criminal!
@@SykoLiu Exactly. If it comes on I would rather know for sure that someone is on my property. If it comes on every 3 minutes from people driving by I'm going to ignore it almost every time, making it almost pointless besides annoying my neighbors.
i dont think the solar panel can keep charging the battery for too long, it will be better for a place like a tool shed or some like that when it will have several days to charge
I was impressed with it until it was next to the atomic Angel! I think I'd rather buy batteries once in a while and actually have a bright light! Great review!
I suspect these two lights have at least a few components in common. Or at least same manufacturer of components. Things like the motion sensor element and the individual led’s and small parts on the driver board, and logic chips.
Great review James. I have a wired motion sensor light over my garage (previous owner installed). I have wanted a few more lights around the outside of the house. I think we will try the Atomic Beam. I like the Atomic Beam for the price and also the easy installation.
I watch him before bed. Very relaxing, so much other stuff on the internet to argue and get worked up about but not here. Just a dude and some reviews. Please never ever change your format or for the love of God make it political.
