Great review. I'm looking to buy the Atomos Ninja Inferno, but I understand about the battery short life span issue. I'm also looking to try add a MAXOAK 12000mah v mount battery V Lock Battery to prolong the life span of the recorder.

We use it with the GH5 as well! We use 7400mAh vlock batteries that last around 45 minutes! Hope this helps!

Yes it does. But I thought there was a way to power it longer than 45mins? Such as this MAXOAK 12000mah v mount battery V Lock Battery

Shark Yes via a V Mount battery. With the IDX ones it lasted around 2-3 hours.it is powered via the dtap cable. But take into account your rig becomes so much heavier. Also you will accessories to mount your battery aswell. Depending what you are shooting it maybe an option to power it via the dc port.

How invasive is the loud fan for shooting dialogue in a controlled environment? Would an audio op complain?

Michael Willer from my experience the fan is not an issue when i have a boom mic positioned a few feet away from the monitor.( which it would be in most cases) I recommend always recording room noise before your subject starts speaking so you can remove it in post.
