Hi Kenny, The announcement of sale of Atomstack in the month of August said that it was a fiber laser of 1064nm, when in fact it is a diode infrared laser of 1064nm and approximately 0.2 w. There is a video on youtube where it is explained. This was the reason for canceling the pre-purchase I made. It is a 1064 nm head for hobby, very expensive due to the low performance. Very good video and good explanations. Best regards. I currently have a Raycus of 50w and 4000$

I too had reservations on ordering this unit due to its price and concerns on what it would be able to do. Figured what the heck I'll try it out. Might have its uses for doing very detailed small pieces of jewelry. The .03 resolution even was clear on the simple project I did. They are really going to have to boost its power output if they want it to be useful and get the size of the module down. already a big module to sling around if get it up to 9000 speeds.

Currently a 1064nm infrared diode laser (0.2w) is about $400 or $500 for sale to the public, if you are a company dedicated to assembly, I suppose they will cost you between $100 and $150 per unit or less. Going to an infrared diode laser of (2w) goes to 2000 to 4000$ per unit of sale to the public, only the led and you can only adjust the power. For that price $4000 I bought mine. One of these days I'm going to upload a video of my equipment and what I use it regularly for. Manufacture of direct PCB boards, without revealed with liquids. Kind regards, Kenny.

I just started setting mine up today, thanks for the video. I designed a quick 3D printed clip to hold the new circuit board and switch to the Z carriage. I'll put it on thingiverse R30 Controller board bracket mount.

just luck onto your channel and I must say yours is the better channel at least you take the time to share your setting with everyone, unlike others who just go through the motions.

I can get long winded sometimes but just trying to share my observations and things that worked and what didn't. Hope you find them useful.

These are new modules and a lot to learn on best how to use them. More tests to come and info to be found in Atomstack user groups on Facebook.

Thanks i was thinking about getting one but I'll let them work the bugs out before investing the money.

These modules definitely aren't as hit swappable as the ir module on the xtool. The extra board and mounting just makes it look tacky. Hopefully they can do something about that in the future.

They have super fine resolution, but with their power and speed it's knocked back to the Hobby/Gift level of production. I haven't been able to think of anything to make so far to sell with it. Should have saved my money and just got an intro level fiber laser.

I'm glad for you, the decision to buy a fiber laser. Mine is 2 months old and every day I am more surprised by the results. The range of possibilities is almost endless. Good luck and greetings.

Hi, the original power supply that goes to the motherboard must always be connected and powered, I imagine to be able to manage the module via the software?

I just got the R30 V2 and I have the power supply connected to the new circuit board that sits on top like yours and I can power it on but Lightburn doesn’t recognize it or the USB cord. What do you have plugged into the main board (the one attached to the rails) to make it work? The manual doesn’t say anything about it.

@tooltimebarbie if you are on Facebook. Join some user groups for your specific machine. It's much easier to get technical and trouble shooting questions on those. Some sites have representatives that can help get warranty issues fixed faster as well. Trouble shooting usually requires photos to see settings and other issues. Usually, it is difficult to do on RU-vid.

I am on those groups as well but there is not much help on this module unfortunately. I can see in the video there is the USB and a power source cord going into the main motherboard so I’m just curious how this is done when the power source is also supposed to be connected into the circuit board up top.

Is it necessary Air Assist for R30 module?
@TheKennyHack
@TheKennyHack 10 месяцев назад
I wouldn't think so. You're not going to be doing much cutting with this module. Just surface engraving. It never hurts to have a bit of air blowing to keep things cleaner, but mostly needed for cutting.

Just got mine, and I cannot understand what the point of the connector plate is, It really does not seem to do anything but lower the laser module, but it does not need lowering as it easily reaches focal point with the track in the original position. Please let me know if there is another reason for this plate?
@TheKennyHack
@TheKennyHack Год назад
This module has set screws on the side to lock it in place. The other module has a set screw from the front. I really don't like either design. A top knob Z adjuster is the best. can make adjustments as you burn for cutting thick material. These side and front are difficult to make fine focus adjustments, and have worked loose during burns and wobbled out of focus. The one big part of Atomstacks design that they have come up short on. Most everything else has been decent.

@@TheKennyHack Yes I understand that and agree with you. my problems is if I put the extra connector plate on instead of just replacing the z adjustment track I can see that it will probably cause me problems using the rotary attachment unless I use about 10" leg extenders lol Thanks for the video, always helpful.

Where did you order it from? I've tried to order one twice and both times they kept saying my order was delayed. After about 40 days my bank got my money back.
@TheKennyHack

I got mine from atomstack.net I've ordered a few things from them and besides being a bit of a wait I haven't had any issues. Keep in mind it's overseas so customer support can be difficult from what I've seen in the forums.
