These radios are feature packed, but what is missing are the reviews covering sound quality and basic radio reception. These are my main criteria in selecting a radio

I have this unit installed in a 2015 KIA Sorento EX. The EX does not have an upgraded sound system of the SX. Just four standard 6.5 door speakers and two pillar tweeters. The sounds was OK with the original KIA head unit. Part of the reason I bought the S8 Ultra is because of the upgraded Toshiba Amp. I was completely blown away by the sound upgrade. When I demo it to friends they cannot believe I do not have a subwoofer (this is not hyperbole). I will say that this unit has surprisingly excellent sound even with factory KIA EX speakers.

Thought i bought the ultra but ended up getting the standard. Returning it to get the flagship, standard was good though

I’ve been looking at stereo vids for a couple of days now. Really like the look of the Android head units. One thing I never see (and can’t find info on) is AM/FM reception (dBf). I mostly listen to Sirius/Pandora/TuneIn but there are times when I actually enjoy terrestrial radio. The aftermarket units I’ve tried (Pioneer, Jensen, and JVC) have all SUCKED in comparison to the stock radio. It’s actually annoying enough that I have pulled the aftermarket radios and put in the original just to get better reception. 😢 So, how’s the reception on these units?
