Federer’s forehand is so effortlessly simple and beautiful. Amazing how he hits the ball with a perfectly extended arm. Fognini’s is also very nice, with a simple and short swing and highly effective

man you can see the relative lack of drive on Murray's forehand. even a bit more horizontal followthrough would have made his career much easier. but you can't really change the fundamentals of what brought you to the top I guess.

love tennis a couple of questions. few hit the ball in front of the advanced foot , right ? almost all have left foot (righty players) in air while hitting, right ? Tsitsipas one of the few (if not the only one) to have not the ''palm down' during take back , right ? Thanks a lot for your response.
@djordjekurcubic2615
@djordjekurcubic2615 4 года назад
tennistavet if u have eastern grip u have to hit the ball closer to your body, but if u have semi western or western grip you are able to hit the ball more in front of your left foot. Also ur left foot should be on the ground after u hit the shot.
@banderovetz1
@banderovetz1 3 года назад
@@djordjekurcubic2615 The advantage of the eastern grip is to feel the plane of the racket as the plane of Your palm and to control the ball better, but sometimes semi-western one is more comfortable for top-spin. Western grip is better for high balls only. Eastern grip allows You to hit the ball far enough in front of the advanced foot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Tn7nWeGG5I.html

@dantheman1337
@dantheman1337 4 года назад
Observations and my experience: chest muscles - flap the arm forward like a bird and mostly push ball into court. Forearm, bicep, shoulder - mostly produce topspin. Rest of body - contribute to both spin and forward motion Ball height - racquet must start lower for low, higher for high, so elbow is basically adjusted by shoulder, same swing path otherwise. Racquet starts pointed upwards to some degree, chest is stretched back ( loaded), arm straightened as racquet is dropped or thrown down. Racquet dips below horizontal and bounces upward off straight arm and sdropped wrist quickly. As the racquet bounces upwarss it normally strikes ball when horizontal at peak speed( vertically and horizontally) to transfer topspin

except for Nadal.He has his elbow relatively close (and facing down) to his body... the rest is quite similar to the other guys. His swing path towards the ball is often more vertical than the others' forehand due to his high topspin shot intention

Only Nadal has the correct forehand stroke, but still one mistake, he swing the Racket around his head, there are two things to correct the forehand stroke,, swing your elbows up, follow through is the relaxation of the stroke, after hitting the ball.

I feel like watching this is far better than listening to any RU-vid coach tell you how to swing. There’s obvious similarities to an elite level forehand. Basically all of their contact points are identical to one another. As long as you can do that, the rest seems like style.

id have to disagree, a lot of people wont understand what they are actually looking at. Its better to have it explained than trying to figure it out all on your own. Though once you understand the basics you can start to pick out details in everyones swings

It is simply a relaxed wrist that allows the racquet face and much of the throat to keep going back while the hand holding the racquet is rotated forward. Then the face rebounds like a pendulum helping to accelerate the racquet into the ball. When you see the face going back that is from momentum not a deliberate wrist movement.
