Never heard of this band before or song but it did indeed rock. No reinventing of rock, but it rocked. I don't know about some of you guys but I dream that some of my music in some way someday could be apart of Guitar World(etc).....Dare to dream:-)
Atreyu's been around for some time now. they were on hiatus the last five or so years and are doing a reunion tour. I still love em after all these years, but it's amazing how much has changed music wise in that amount of time.
In one of my old bands, almost every time we played local shows, we would cover Lip Gloss and Black to close the show out and fuckin EVERYONE would go apeshit every time. I gotta say, after playing it so many times, we played that song really fuckin well haha. I wish I still had footage from those days. That was back in the day, like 2005 to 2007. Then I played Bleeding Mascara for a guitar competition and won. I love the guitar in that song. I remember hearing the first time like "Whaaaat? This is fuckin ATREYU?!" I also managed to sleep through their entire set at warped tour 05 or 06 at the gorge, literally right in the moshpit. Slept through ATREYU and Avenged Sevenfold. I was fuuuucked up hahaha. I can't believe I wasn't trampled. I woke up to people that created a perimeter around me haha. It's was awesome....Well...not passing out through two bands sets lol
It seems like Long Live just came out yesterday... can't believe it's over a year old now. But this album right here is just flawless, Blow being one of those tracks. Awesome performance.
Take note, this is how playthroughs should be done, with the guitar actually being re-recorded, not with finger positions and tons of editing over a studio track and no actual playing being audible.
Wait, so what I don't get is why this video has so many dislikes? Yes, I'm a fan of Atreyu, but I don't see a reason why people would not actually like it unless you disliked it before watching the video.
There's only 23 dislikes my friend. That's not much at all.... I mean This video deserves infinite dislikes cause Atreyu is fucking garbage but that's just my opinion.
+TFIFH probably because it isn't popular enough lol. by then Atreyu had about 48 songs they could play live and typically they play 12. would be cool to hear! but i also think the vocals would be hard to pull off cause if it's just a bit off it'll sound pretty bad
Lucas G I agree about the vocals, but I've always thought the song was one of their most popular 'cause in my home country it was played on the radio like three times a day for a good while back when it was released. And obviously since it's a kickass song!
TFIFH haha interesting. as usual i freakin love the chorus in that song, it's a shame that bands never end up playing some songs live....and as they make more albums the odds of them playing a deep cut is less and less :(
@@mutilasijelangkungmelodeat2286 Thanks for the tip, I did find it. Oh and unlike we've speculated here, apparently the vocals were not an issue, 'cause in that clip I found the drummer nailed the chorus.
So what you are saying is that you first tune down a whole step and then, in addition, tune down another full step the low E string. Basically it is drop-D (while tuned down a whole step to begin with). It is much easier to think about it that way, imo.
Johnny Dangerously you don't have to be a dick. Sure not a lot of their stuff is massively tough, but not everybody can play like Joe Satriani. Their stuff is catchy and obviously has a fan base, so call me when you're at their status.
If you actually listened to more than 2 or 3 of their songs, you'd know how varied their melodies and progression are. The curse and A deathgrip and excellent examples.

I love atreyu but the only thing i dont like aboit this video is that they dont teach the cords to use all they say is it goes something likely this and just plays the rift and moves on like wtf lol
One of the worst songs, from one of the worst albums, from one of the worst bands of a shitty, over hyped genre of music that lasted all of 5 years.... Why this is being posted NOW, in 2015, really has me scratching my head. Yeah, reunion tour, who gives a shit?
