Man Summoning Salt videos have so much unintentional or underlying comedy. He doesn’t sound like he’s trying to be funny at all, but the way he puts his videos together at points genuinely makes me laugh. Bro really has mastered his craft 🐐
I remember watching nobori’s run when it came out. And the following 50 star run he did. Im so sad he’s never come back and it doesn’t seem like he will considering he unlisted all his vids on his channel. I guess 3 years with no competition ruins the fun of it. I actually got into Mario speed running because of nobori and a lot of the initial strats I used for my runs were based off of nobori’s blindfold run. They were just that good. I don’t know if I’ve ever beaten nobori’s run ever. I kinda stopped playing.
Atrioc mentioned this when talking about pokemon, and there is a really fascinating video about doing Pokemon "blindfolded" as just a list of inputs fed into a computer. Not a TAS, but a true "list of button presses that will always guarenterd beat Pokemon" no matter your rng. It's super interesting
1:22:18 Yeah I imagine they count stuff out while not blindfolded, and then they know to jump over a gap on Beat 3 or Jump when you hear the bass drum in the 2nd bar, that kind of stuff.

Wait no phonics made absolutely no sense to me as a kid, still don’t really get them(I’m super dyslexic so maybe that contributes). I learned to read exclusively by whole word reading. Just sat down with a book and grinded it out based on context clues, got a 36 on my reading ACT so get rolled phonics heads
