One of the problems with torque rods is they have a high failure rate around the smallest diameter. So, we decided if that’s the failure point, then let's just don't attach it there - and that was the beginning of ATRO’s breakthrough design on our free-rotation bushing and torque rods.
We've proven that allowing that between the pin and bushing is what takes the stress out of the bushing and that, combined with our custom polyurethane formula, is what delivers a better performing, longer lasting heavy truck torque rod and bushing product. In addition, because the pin can rotate, it fits all clocking angles - no need to order torque rods with a specific bolt angle anymore. Just spin the pin!
ATRO has done a lot of work in urethanes and we have proven that urethanes are vastly superior to rubber for heavy-duty parts applications. Anything from the large heavy semi and vocational trucks to construction equipment, to military vehicles. And that is how our company got started - by designing and applying custom polyurethane formulas to replace rubber parts that fail.
