This has been without doubt THE ONLY tutorial of this kind that I have followed to the end and had it work EXACTLY as you demonstrate. Your User qualification is very well deserved! One question, the text I have used in my example appears too soon in the video clip. Is there a way to have it not show immediately, but appear further into the video?
Thanks for this feedback! I simple solution to your part is to cut your clip in multiple parts. You can track and attach the text only on a sub clip. What do you think?
@@TudorBaba Thanks very much Tudor! I had seen someone else suggest cutting up clips and using them on the same timeline to get easier manipulation of effects. I had wondered if this would be a masking thing where the mask covered the text until a set point and then did a reveal. That' when the planar tracking would kick in. Thanks again for your video, I spent nearly a week watching and trying different tutorials, all of which would fail due to some element that had not been explained. Yours is the only one that explained everything. 👏
@@B0M0A0K Ive been messing around with the same problem you describe. What I have done is added a couple key frames to the text so its size is set to zero until I need it to appear. You may have found this work around as its five months ago but for anyone else reading this might be helpful
@@stehume I had to give up on this after a few weeks of trying to find a solution. Others would show examples of how they did it, but I never got it to work and had to scrub the entire project.
YEEEESSSSS! This isn’t the first time I’ve watched one of your tutorials, but this one saved me TONS of stress. I was really struggling… [thinking, why on earth did I move my camera]. Using specific keywords led me to this video. Thank you, mate!!! THANK YOU!
When I opened the project today it turned out that everything I did yesterday disappeared. I still see the compound clips but the image is black. Does anyone know what's going on?
Very good. Question: when using the surface tracker to add a logo perhaps to your alleyway subject. When there is not a lot of contrast it is not very successful. Would it be best to abnormally change the contrast settings first and put them back after the successful track. Also when using proxy footage is it best to use the full resolution to get the track.
Changing the contrast will definitely help, good idea. About proxies, I don’t have an answer for you. My computer is faster enough to handle my videos without proxies. For how long are you using Resolve? What content are you producing?
maybe it's a good idea to create another video with ideas to make your Resolve run faster. But could also depend of your footage and what you need to do in Resolve. I think you need to give more details. Cheers!
Hi Tudor, I hope this message finds you well. I've been an avid viewer of your videos and I've learned so much from your content. Your tutorials have been incredibly helpful in expanding my skills. I have a question that I believe you might be able to help me with. I've been trying to create a video montage where a moving girl is looking at her mobile phone, with my webpage displayed on its screen. I have Video 1, where the girl interacts with her phone (which has a green screen display), and Video 2, showcasing the content of my website. While I've managed to remove the green screen and overlay Video 2, I'm facing a challenge. The girl's movements and hand gestures in Video 1 don't sync with the content on the mobile phone screen in Video 2. This misalignment takes away from the realism of the montage. I've searched extensively on RU-vid for tutorials on how to address this issue, but I haven't found any suitable solutions. Since you have a knack for explaining complex topics in a clear and understandable manner, I was wondering if you could consider making a tutorial about syncing moving elements in video montages. Specifically, how to ensure that the movements of the hands and mobile phone in Video 1 match the content displayed in Video 2. Your expertise would greatly assist not only me but also many others who may encounter similar challenges. Your insights would be immensely appreciated, and I'm sure your tutorial would be a valuable resource for the video editing community. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Looking forward to your future content! Best regards, Jordi
Hi Jordi, thanks for reaching out to me. I will try to help but at this moment I’m on holiday in Greece. It will take me some time until I will have time to take a look. Do you think it’s possible to send me the videos that you want to use? It will be easier in this way to understand the current issue. Keep in touch!
Thanks a lot for your amazing help! @@TudorBaba here its the link with the examples: drive.google.com/drive/folders/19OlymdUtH0k3201y3Jefk_n9spqDc9NN?usp=sharing. I really appreciate your help
Hi! I followed your tutorial (second step) but the image i use in the background changes colour when i go back to the edit screen. Do you know why this could be?
Did you fixed already the color problem? Maybe it’s because your project or timeline settings, hard to say exactly. In case you add the image from the edit page, can you reproduce the issue?
@@TudorBaba Hi there! What i should have done was colour correct my clip and then right click + create fusion clip, this would have baked in the colour correction before adding my image. That way, the image i add would be unaffected.
You need to use a simple mask. Try to search on Google how to add mask in DaVinci resolve fusion. You can add masks in fusion or the color page. You can check my other tutorials, I have a few examples.
@@TudorBaba Yeah I am. Thought it might be but it's always nice seeing your hometown. Thanks for the vid, I needed a slightyl different appraoch but Planar Tracker is the easiest to use imo which I learned here.
Hey @tudorbaba I used the planar tracker and added text, its worked well till the tracking object was on screen, but when I move forward the text increses in size or act weirdly, Please help, Tried many things and saw so many tutorials but probelm remains
@@TudorBaba First of all, thank you for replying, I forget to thank you earlier, so can you explain me how do I know when to use normal/planer/surface/camera tracker? becasue I tried recreating Jamie finn's tutorial (with same videos and pictures) in which he used planar tracker, My composite wasn't as fluid as his and tracker didn't work smoothly as well.
Is it more difficult for you to put subtitles on your videos? or at least activate the subtitles option...believe me you gain more followers...Greetings from Romania
Nice to meet you, cheers from Timisoara! You can activate the default automatic subtitles from RU-vid. I need to publish more tutorials, to be more consistent. Then the results will come.
@@TudorBaba My magic mask doesn't work at all, have contacted BM, It's a bug, but even a reinstall didn't fix it, so maybe a clash with some previous install, need to find the guilty file.
Hi DaVinci keeps giving me this message that I can’t track something out of the time, but when I do track something in the time it says it can’t track it, do you know of any fix?
Just do something useful what if the tracker went wrong, Why do you all who make tutorials about this software seem to not know what you are doing!!!!!
Good that you share your honest feedback. Imagine that every footage could have different issues or different ways to make it work. It’s good to demonstrate the basic. From there you can go and learn and practice more. In the Resolve manual do you have all the possible situations where it’s working or not working? Creating free tutorials, believe me, it’s not easy. Everyone is doing their best, with different skills and experience.
Average tutorial, not that useful, glosses over some details and not helpful as for what I’m trying to achieve I’ll need to go find someone who cares to explain it in more depth
