Glad you found it! My bet is the shop light since its directly above the water. I had a problem with high Zinc and my DIY screen top had some corrosion. Replaced the top with an acrylic top and my problem went away.

I had the same struggle in my tank, except I was measuring 74 on Tin 😔, also had serious coral issues from it. I actually never found an obvious cause.. Just did massive water changes and it stayed away...so far.

This is making me rethink my steel stand I am using to hold up my tank. I have been struggling to remove tin since my first triton icp test in January of this year. I have managed to lower it from 28 ug to 25ug by removing 2 rusted brackets one in the sump and one hold my display lights but, I just can't seem to find the obvious source

This is SUPER topical as I also just got a high tin warning in my Triton test! I did find two corroding MP40s that are being replaced.

I'm having 28.0 ug/l now, and I'm trying to work it out, my hinges are rusty but they're below the water line I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

same issue here off the scale tin 0.041 which is off the marinlab scale hmmm

So you replaced the light and the hinges... and the time level went to zero? What did you do for the water? To remove the tin? Large Water changes and continued the cuprisorb?

was the light or hinges in the sump water? I cant figure out how the metal would "jump" in to the tank.

hello sir by any chance were your hinges over the tank or away from the tank or the sump like mounted to the side of the stand. because there is no way rust could fall into my sump from there will the oxidation get adsorbed by the water?

I'm having the same problem. My hinges are rusted how can hinges make tin go up when there not in the water. I believe you I'm just wondering how the rust would make it to your tank . I'm going to change hinges right now. Thank you

And the academy award for “ best video in the industry “ goes to the “biz”, totally enjoyed watching, hope that was ur problem, seems kind of strange though, was the rust falling in the sump..?, since ur spending all this money, did u ever think of comparing ICP tests?, like triton with ATI, I watched another guy who did it, the results were very different, makes me wonder if they are full of crap and just make me spend more money, at least u know all ur stuff is new and u have extras Incase of failure!!
