Reaction to the new OP was spot-on! I feel you Abi. The brutality of Miche's death at the end there really got to me as well, especially because of his screams. I remember feeling a bit sick to my stomach after that, and it was honestly the first time I felt that way about anything in AoT. After waiting 4 long years for S2 to finally come, I guess I almost forgot how cruel AoT could be until of course, this first episode reminded me again. I definitely remember going "Yep ...this is Attack on Titan alright". "This song is very happy...They really put a happy song at the end.... Holy cow, this is creepy" I thought it was a happy-sounding song as well until I kept watching and listening. I get chills just hearing it now. Also, really digging that hoodie! Looks awesome, Abi :)

I appreciate the concern and emotion you feel towards even the lesser characters like Mike and Bertholdt. shows you actually care. It's a nice change of pace from all the action junkies who get bored when there's not fighting going on, and only care about Mikasa and Levi. Plus, nice hoodie.

You need to watch the OVA "No Regrets", it's important to understand the Levi past.

Coming back to AOT after so long was insane for us- a lot of us got used to the gore having seen it so many times but seeing brutal new stuff like Miche’s death was a reminder of how dark AOT is. It was actually pretty weird getting new content after four years so it was an adjustment to say the least, haha.

At this rate, you’ll catch up in time for the second part of season 3 👍🏻 it’s been great watching alongside you guys

So this season is very confusing. It’s going to be jumping back and forth between Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, and the squad that you just saw heading south. But don’t forget that the rest of the squad is heading South 12 hours before the EMA stuff is going on. This stuff with the Beast went on before Eren fought Annie.

Isayama did a very good job here. People were too used to titans by this point. They thought they are easy to kill. Isayama re-established that fear by having the second best human soldier die in such a gruesome way. Great writing.

That titan in the wall was exposed because annie tried climbing the wall. So it is the innermost wall sina. This episode occured within wall rose. Wall maria is the outermost wall, which within it was a smaller wall called shiganshina district (where eren was from) that got breached.

This scream Annie made to "call" titans I thought it was a power but later I remembered normal titans seem to recognize there is a human controling the titan (titan shifters) so even a scream of a titan shifter can attract mindless titans the same way a normal human would, because to mindless titans there is no difference between a normal human and a titan shifter, in both cases mindless titans will try to eat them.

For me this was the hardest, darkest, most depressing moment of the show. Game of Thrones was dark with fan favourite deaths but with characters like Arya and John toy always got the feeling of hope that kept me watching. The Walking Dead to be just felt depressingly from, with zero hope which is why I gave up on it. This to me was the closest I've come to saying "Nope. No more. I'm done." Thankfully I didn't stop watching, but damn is this grim.

By the way this happened way before the scouts had started their plan to bit annie inside wall sina, the innermost wall. This was in wall rose, the middle one. And the reason the scouts didn't hear about it was because its just too far and i guess they wasn't able to contact each other fast..???? I think. But anyways there was a reason eren's group was sent there, i think. If erwin was genius enough.

Yes a gruesome death indeed.... The outro even though it sounds happy, it's akin to the outro of another anime - Monster - and the ending of the game -Resident Evil 4. And just like those 2, the visuals on the endings will give u clues of what happened in the past.
