Attack on Titan 2x12 REACTION 

I think Hannes has always thought this since the death of Eren's mother. "If I had fought the titan then, would I have saved all three?" "Maybe I just ran away with the excuse that all three of them could die?" But Hannes's death confirms that he was right to run away with Eren and Mikasa without fighting. The look on his face as he dies, looking at Eren and Mikasa. It seemed to me that he was relieved to know that it was the right choice he made. RIP Hannes

Nobody: Shane after every episode: "That might be my favorite episode so far"

That scene of Eren and Mikasa has to be one of the best and most touching scenes of the entire show. Mikasa (the strongest soldier only second to Levi) has many ribs broken, there's no odm gear, and Eren can't transform, she thinks they're gonna die so she feels the need to tell Eren how much he means to her, and makes him understand that he isn't and have never been useless. Eren won't let her give up and a goobye kiss means giving up, so he stands up and makes her the promise of protecting her and being at her side his entire life. My boy tryied to fight a titan with his fist just to protect Mikasa and save her life. I love them so much :'3

I’m glad you recognized how powerful that scene with Mikasa was. He promises to wrap that scarf around her now and forever . Was willing to punch a titan bare handed not knowing his power to save her and his friends !

We’re just like the survey corps, we only know what the survey corps know, but the show still pushes on and feeds you clues, and when it reveals you know all the hints were there in the very beginning, so every time it reveals something it flips the way you see previous episodes .

The levi and erwin’s dialogue at the end really outlines their characters. While Levi was depressed about how many died and titan being human, Erwin fucking got excited. At this point, it can mean so many things. After all these, Erwin’s willpower doesn’t break. He’s not gonna stop no matter at what cost. That’s a mentality of an absolute monster. Or it can mean that he really doesn’t give a damn about the costs and the sacrifices. Either way he’s a mad man.

When Mikasa started letting Eren know what he meant to her, it was her coming to terms that the end was near. She wanted Eren to know how much he meant to her. Then him getting up and turning his back saying "I'll keep wrapping that scarf around you, now and forever". Was Eren rejecting that it really is the end, and there will be a future for them.

So many great moments in this episode: Hannes's death, showing he was truly a hero, Mikasa's confession, Eren's promise to Mikasa, the flashback of the trio to when they were kids with Hannes. And man do I love how Erwin was smiling like a madman in the end...nothing was more comforting to him than realizing that the world is crazier than he is. Such a great episode.

The scene with Hannes's blood on the flowers at 6:25 can be seen in Eren's dream back in season 1 episode 1 (it's the first few frames) Technically the writer himself is the spoiler

I post this on all S2 E12 reactions, and there's still people that don't know it. Yuki Kaji - The voice actor for Eren, actually tore his vocal chords during his "scream" where he punches the titans hand and had to take 3 months off work to recover. The scream we hear, is *that* recording.

The reaction of Austin during mikasa's speech really got to me. One of the best emotinal reactions for this episode for sure

Major props to Yuki Kaji (Eren's VA) for the fantastic voicework during the emotional breakdown! It's gotta be so disheartening to not be able to save a loved one despite having the power to do so, and Yuki Kaji conveyed Eren's feelings of helplessness, frustration, and anger at himself so well. VA GOD!!! What Eren said to Mikasa was also really touching. Mikasa confessing was basically her giving up, whereas Eren found the strength to not give up just yet. Him declaring that he'll always protect Mikasa now and forever was just beautiful! When Ymir wakes up from 60 long years as a titan, she gazes up at the starry night sky with tears in her eyes as she realizes her newfound freedom. Now, she yet again gazes up at the starry night sky with tears in her eyes as she chooses to give up her freedom by going with Reiner and Bertholdt. Remember what Bertholdt cried out last episode? "Someone, please find us" Well, Ymir certainly found you guys. In the end, she still couldn't stop living for others.

There was a lack of Levi this season because he's been injured from his fight against Annie (when he blocked Mikasa from getting swatted). This season only took place in a few days irl time, so it makes sense that he'd still be recovering. We'll get more of Captain Levi next season though :)

It's just a little detail but imo so great^^ The reason why Mikasa decided to confess during that obviously very dangerous and grim moment is she thought that they were finally going to die, (seriously, like for real this time, no escape, no 3dm gear, no titan power to help them out of that fucked situation, if you don't count the coordinate power which eren didn't know he actually had that time) and she will never have the chance to do it. She wanted to comfort eren, convince him that he was actually not useless (like some people say). Eren NEVER was useless for me too. Then she leans for her first and supposedly LAST kiss for Eren, and Eren actually understood what Mikasa meant and what she was trying to do with that kiss, "she was giving up on life" with that kiss. This made Eren remember what her mother was telling him about also being always there for Mikasa, so if he accepts Mikasa's kiss then it would just mean that he was accepting their current situation, their fate, their inevitable death, and this would break his promise to his death, and this would break his promise to his mom, contradicting what he always told Mikasa to never back down and fight. So he stood up, the kiss can always wait later, and this time he always be there for Mikasa.

Hannes (sober and has improved for the last 5 years) not being able to kill that titan immediately just proves how hard it is to kill a titan by yourself and how skillful and powerful Levi and Mikasa is. And that also proves that he made the right choice in episode1, had he fought that titan back then all 4 of them would've died. Also, I love watching your reactions! You are so into it. The reaction when Eren controlled the Titan was perfect 😂

Not sure if you guys missed it, but in the episode where Erwin gets bitten by a titan in the arm, you can actually see someone go back for him ( here is the timestamp in your previous video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L13ByVY00Pw.html ). That scout probably saved him from the titan and gave him some emergency medical treatment and possibly applied the tourniquet to his arm, because the tourniquet is already on his arm in the previous episode : here is the timestamp ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kCUMoVH_Y4Q.html . The tourniquet is hard to spot but it is there in episode 11 already. edit: Also the above things aren't really so easy to spot, some of it I only noticed on a second watch through haha

just realised this but that scene of Eren using the coordinate is very similar to how he saved Mikasa in season 1 when he first appeared in his titan form

Man gotta feel bad for eren. At the age of 10 he saw his own town overrun with titans and saw his mother died. at the age of 15 he saw trost get attacked and saw his own squad die along with his arm and leg. soon after he found out he was a titan shifter he was thought of as humanities final hope aganst the titans. shorty after trost he saw yet again his team die after choosing to trust them. and the one responsible for their deaths was his old classmate, and shorty after fighting her and winning it ultimatly lead to nothing. finds out two more of his old classmates were also 'traitors' and they kidnapped him. and lost his father figure to the titan that ate his mother. all within a few weeks after trost. thats a crazy life.

Historia riding on Ymir's head and declaring her lack of fear while rushing into battle will always be my favorite moment in AOT. This show has hundreds of wonderful moments, but somehow the tiniest scout ferociously ready to take on the world with her best friend just does it.

This is one of my favorite episodes, and the scene between Eren and Mikasa is one of my favorite scenes ever it's so beautiful! (Not a spoiler) Mikasa thought they were going to die, so she was leaning in thinking this was their last moment together, and Eren understood that she was giving up by leaning in and got up, promising to still protect her even in that moment "I'll wrap that scarf around you now and forever". Even when he thought he could do nothing, Eren still chose to fight till his last moment and protect Mikasa like he always promised. I loved your reaction you guys are the best!

If you look at it again. Its not the same ability as the beast. The beast kinda “tells” the titans to do things, out of fear, in ep1 we saw one disobeyed him and bit miche. But eren, its like he “commands” or “posseses” them.
