I love how the mystery for S1-3 was about the world. But now the mystery has instead shifted to Eren and Zeke's intentions and mindsets. Back then, we heard all of Eren's thoughts. But for this season, we've been in his head maybe twice at best. Really interesting take. And an amazing episode full of heartbreak, hype and more questions.
OMG, Kat, to hear you say you are fearing for Levi....I actually never expected that from you because I recall you not liking him much in season 1☺️With this theory of the Ackerman bond, the bonded pairs would be: Mikasa - Eren, Levi - Erwin, and Kenny - Uri. Therefore Levi is "safe" from Eren. Besides, Levi means it when he says that Eren has such a kickable face.
13:00 because he is the hero of Paradis ever since season 1 when he covered the hole with the giant boulder, he has been the face of "humanity's" counter attack against titans
fun fact when this episode was released, there was an earthquake in Japan and they only released the first half of the episode. The episode went until just after all levi's comrades were turned into titans. that shot of him slowly falling down.
The Ackermann's aren't specifically designed to protect Eren, Eren said "you mistakenly assumed I was the host you had to protect". Remember, back then Eren didn't even have the Founding Titan ;) He got that later from his dad via the injection we saw Grisha give him. So Levi never had that moment with Eren because he hasn't "mistakenly assumed" Eren was the host he needed to protect. If anything, you could argue that it may have been Erwin that Levi was tuned towards.
there is no ackermann must protect someone...it's just a lie. We are supposed to know how ackermann works since Kenny's arc. They re immune to mental manipulation .. that's why they were persecuted. They are slaves of their own will. More than any Eldian.
I can't help but feel that even if Mikasa is genetically "programmed" to protect, it doesn't actually make her any different from anyone else. We can't simply choose who we care about or whom we fall in love with, and are often driven entirely by instinct, like a parent automatically putting their arm in front of their child when they have to suddenly stop their car. We would never say that makes them a "slave" to it.
21:55 no, he did not. I love Levi but one of things why he's interesting is that he has flaws. He had beaten Eren to protect him exactly once in the entire series. All the rest of the beating was because he was brought up in a very brutal and harsh environment which makes him a little bit sadistic.
Great discussion as always. But one thing that you have missed out is that in S3 we see Kenny's grandad tell him that the reason that the Ackermans were persecuted was because the founding titan could not control them(erase memories). This directly contradicts with what Eren says this Ep so maybe keep it in mind too.
Man, I really feel for Levi. He's been through so fucking much and he still can't catch a break. He's watched so many of his comrades die and now he even had to kill some of them. But, it's very badass that he's practically invincible, it's like when death comes for him (which it did, many times) he just tells it "no." and it leaves lmao😆 He's indeed humanity's strongest soldier without a doubt. Also, Kenny's theme playing during the Zeke vs. Levi fight was so awesome, I loved hearing it again
Why are the Jaegerists so loyal to Ehren and his way of doing business? Well, probably because the government of Paradise does not offer any alternatives, they just do NOTHING, hoping, apparently, for a miracle that will solve the Eldian question
Oof, yeah. THIS episode. Was simultaneously looking forward to and dreading this reaction. It’s just wall-to-wall emotional body blows from beginning to end. And obviously I loved riding the wave of pain with you guys again. Your reactions are, as ever, fantastic. Little bit of my heart broke watching your reaction to Levi being confronted by his titanised team. PS: Floch-lovers and Jaegerist-apologists? You can Floch off.
@@muffinmatters Floch-lovers/Jaegerist-apologists are not the voice of reason, my dude. If you agree with them, then you'd be just as bad as nazis back in World War 2. They were also told that another "race" was the "oppressor" and that all their troubles would be solved if they captured/killed all the Jews. Because of shit that happened way in the past. Genocide is NEVER EVER the answer. If you think it is, you need therapy. I hate people probably more than most, but even I wouldn't go as far as to wish death upon everyone, even if they were "against my country"
I think the citizens of Paradise back Eren and the Jeagerists at this point because Eren attacked Marley when the rest of the scouts and the military police were dillydallying in all their political issues. Eren knew there was no time and acted the way he did for Paradise's greater good so its easy for the citizens to say he did what the rest of the government couldn't. Add in that Eren went on his own kinda makes him look like a lone hero to them.
This was a shocking Episode. For your Well being is suggest watching Spy x Family it is one of the best Anime this year and it is really wholesome and the Jokes are very Well done its a Masterpiece from the Same Studio who did this Anime Season 1-3. It is one of the best Anime of all time good for Beginners too.
@@egomana9329 you got to try i often think its Not my Genre but once i have seen 2 Episodes its awesome. It has such high quality its for almost everyone.
C'mon you can't tell me you believe in that crap Eren spit there right? :D That has to be some kind of way to keep them away from what he's going to do, otherwise they'd want to be a part or convince him to not do it. Eren definitely cares a lot about our gang, especially Mikasa and Armin.
I can't believe they fell for that superficial shit xd... They (especially she) are always jumping to conclusions a little too fast, especially because they don't agree with eren's "politics" and thus find it harder to believe him (they lack the empathy for his position)... She also just believed mikasa instantly when she said she had no headaches eventhough we saw it throughout the series, and her body language clearly showed us that she was lying xd
@@comeatmebro8120 It's already explained xd... Eren kruger already said that the goal was to save mikasa, armin and the rest... The only person who could have known that is eren, so it's eren's memories of the future... So eren obviously cares for them... This is easily put together, nobody that i know believed eren in this episode... They're just blinded by the superficial emotions... They've also put eren in this "extremist" box so they don't really think about his character anymore... It's all about his plan, and not about how eren feels about this plan... They can't look past the extremist-logo they've put on him, as if an extremist can't have feelings (even if the means to achieve his end go too far) xd...
@@blondymonk1535 Well then just let them believe that for now. That is put in the show to mislead people and just because it didn't work on you or your friends doesn't mean everybody will pick up on it. It'll be explained in clear detail later so just try to be patient
It's actually insane how many people don't get he was lying and wanted them to hate him so they wouldn't suffer as much later on, knowing what he's about to do. I genuinely thought it was the most obvious lie ever when Eren said he's always hated Mikasa, but I guess not lol.
It was weird that Eren called Bertholdt "the enemy" to Armin when a couple of episodes back Eren told Reiner that they are the same and that he doesn't hate the warriors but he has to move forward...
あなたたちのリアクションはとても楽しめた。 7:15 Levi's eyes are the eyes of a Buddhist bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva appeared 5,670 million years ago and is said to save people. In other words, until then, we have been living and dying, crawling around in endless pain. Isn't it the best cast for Levi, who has the role of watching over the deaths of many friends?
I like how you both doubted if Levi is for real during season 1 but now you love his character so much you hate for him to die. I think that is how well his character is written.
12:54 Isn't it pretty obvious why people would support Eren and the Jaegerist? The whole world declared war to paradise Island even though paradise Island never did anything wrong. (our people started to do bad things after Willy declared war.) And now we are at war and it's either them or us. I know it's horrible but war is and will always be a horrible thing. Edit: and from the point of view of every civilian on paradise Island Eren is the only thing that is able to save their lives.
Its pretty hard to understand for most, it took me a rewatch to do so. People also dont realize nobody from paradis but us viewers and the scouts ever set foot on marley and actually spoke to the populace. So from marleys perspective, the island demons are just non human beings that transform into titans, and from the paradis viewpoint they are just enemies outside the world that have been torturing them with titans over 100 years. Not to mention, there could be peace over a long time but eren and zeke are on a hard timer due to ymirs curse.
On the one hand, yes, you can understand why some may feel that way, but on the other hand, we're still talking genocide here. It's never okay to go "well, they want us dead, so let's pre-emptively kill them and their entire families with our biggest weapons" That's just not how you should think.
@@MAGICO3O the fact what makes this even worse imo. (SPOILER last episode s4 p2) The scout visit Marley to try going for negotiations for peace and again they witnessed hate against their people for no reason. Honestly the world KINDA deserves what Eren is planning just for not second guessing what Willy was saying. And time is the only thing that isn't on paradise Island side because Zeke only got one year left unless Historia gets completely used and that's the only thing that Eren will not let happen. (he wants all his friends to live a long and happy life
No. It’s not obvious why people support a fascistic, ethnonationalist regime. You have a right to defend yourself. You don’t have a right to slaughter the world to do so.
@@Wolfbane192 sorry but it's called war and neither did our people started the war or provoked it. It's all coming from Marley. And you say defending themselves is OK. Without Eren taking out the military leaders and Armin destroying the fleet paradise Island just would have gotten stomped.
Isayam did great job writing Eren's character really and it shows through the ppl's reaction but I still feel like a lot of ppl misunderstood his character and I can't say anything bc it will be a spoiler so, I will wait for your reaction to a specific ep and the fact that you're fearing for Levi 🥺 I am absolutely loving your reaction and this whole journey 💜
I think if we delve deeper into this story, we will even get philosophical. Is it absolutely evil to kill people in the first place, or is it not evil for a country to execute people, or to kill people in war, or is it wrong to kill people, but not animals? And every human being will fight back in self-defense against those who try to kill him or her.Whether it is an act of evil or good depends on the country and culture. Everyone would think that a bizarre murder that simply kills people for pleasure is evil. It is understandable if we consider it as a kind of sexual propensity, although we have no choice but to eliminate it because it is incompatible with our society.Every human being who kills has his or her own meaning. Wars, even those triggered by soccer, are not always inevitable. And like it or not, if you look back through human history, it's certainly still happening for a variety of reasons. Most people living today would agree that genocide is wrong. But did you know that the use of the atomic bomb was surveyed in the U.S. as of today? In fact, more than half of the people came out and said that was a legitimate act, and we're talking about the 21st century now. There is no point in talking about whether it is good or bad. After all, that's what it comes down to. Whether it's Zeke or Eren, they are not killing for pleasure, but for some reason. He can even have a decent conversation. It's up to each person to decide if they like it or not...that's all I can say.
Time is something that they don't have and how many of them were ready to let Historia keep popping out royal babies for them to protect themselves? As villainous as their approach is... now there is a sense of urgency to act.
Just to clarify, from their point of view, Eren is the one who suspiciously changed his mind after privately meeting Yelena and later Zeke in Marley and is now suddenly going along with Zeke's plan that requires Historia's sacrifice. That's the reason they are having to waste precious time trying to make sure of their true intentions before letting them come into contact, to make sure Zeke doesn't pull a fast one on them. Even in this episode, they ask him why he infiltrated Marley on his own and is on board with Zeke's plan, but Eren evades the question by going on a tirade about his free will.
Forgot to say this last video. But I think the reason people like Floch is because he is actually a lot like erwin in his ideology. Erwin rallying people against the titans to save humanity. and floch sort of rallying yagerist against other people to save his eldians. But one person is painted as a hero the other a villan. That's what is interesting. We deem one a hero simply because titans are betrayed as monsters in the show. But we deem floch a villain because the rest of the world is betrayed as human. All is to say, that neither side is morally in the right, they're both nationalists. Its like how people admire napolian and despise Hitler despite both being nationalist leaders. That being said I don't like floch. But he is well written
God, I hate this episode. I mean, I still love it, but the scene between Eren, Armin and Mikasa always makes me hate Eren. The price of beeing so involved in the story, I guess.
I love hating on him lol. He's kinda like Joffrey in that way, I hope they showed us a more clear death for him but since they didn't I guess he's coming back for more in part 3.
I'm surprised you guys buy the idea that Eren is "bad" now that quickly without questioning anything at all. Nothing in this show is surface-level. When it tells you one thing, you should know better to always question it. Don't you guys remember how they did the Armored and Colossal Titans reveal?
Of course we remember - but at the moment (where part 2 ended) Eren is trying to wipe out the entire world - so it’s not like we were far off back then. Worldwide genocide simply isn’t the way to go, if you ask us.
beat the brain with brawn, and beat the brawn with brain. because yeah eren nowhere near armin intellectual so he had to beat him with brute force. while for mikasa eren not even par with mikasa strength so he had to beat her with words.
Seriously..... Come on! I was a fan of your channel since you first time watched the attack on titan and now I feel triggered when you keep saying rude to Yeargerist, Floch and Eren. And saying why they are loyal to Eren 💀 it's because he was the first hero of Paradise island. Don't you both understand Eren's character? Only fan Levi? I mean I am a fan of Levi too but I love all the characters Aot so you seem a crazy fan of Levi only. But you seem don't smart, understand or feel all characters I don't want to spoiler you, I have already seen till to the end of the Aot. If you don't want to watch it means then stop watching but you are going to watch cause you're both glad for Levi is alive right?
As we watch, we learn more about the characters and their motivations - and the things we might not understand at first, we’ll get later on or make sense of it during our discussions. At this point in time (after having watched all available episodes) we definitely understand all the characters - but it doesn’t mean we condone their actions or agree with them. If you don’t agree with our immediate reactions and observations, just keep watching, cause it might change down the line.
When are guys going to learn that the actions sequences in this show are only for "Show" not to advance the story. How many characters died or lost a fight to just later have no impact on the next outcome !
u guys never trusted eren from episode 1 of season 1. All this time i have been watching your reactions....i could tell that u guys never onced trusted eren or believed in him. U never understood his character.....seriously? Always doubted him and against him and fanboying levi all the time that sometimes it made me mad. Atleast find the characters more in the show.
