@@enginnope6841 Dont get me wrong there are some extremely talented English voice actors and I respect what they do highly. But a fair amount of anime is just better in Japanese. Japanese voice actors just have a way of forcing those emotions out.
@@chrisgorman3997 i think you don't know the difference between something original and dubbed there is so much emotion difference you should have known that by now
@@snackfud Because they were already suspicious of Reiner and Bertholdt and on edge this whole time. Both sides feel that something is about to go down. I think it is pretty fitting that they react to the sudden noise of the flag falling down.
I love how Eren genuinely gave Reiner an out here, that he was willing to look past this bizarre slipup because he wanted to believe they were good people
@@KingSpades Yeah but at this point they were already kinda onto them especially after Reiner let it slip about him being the armored titan, there was no point in hiding it any longer and so it was better to seize the opportunity when they could
That judo throw That triangle choke That transition from choke to arm bar That guard game on the ground and guiotine attempt Erens ground game was Solid!!!!
I remember when this came out, I was so into martial arts/wrestling When I first saw this, I could instantly tell what moves he was doing. It's such a great treat to have this on attack on Titan of all places
Could not have put it better. The writers were also into Wrestling/Grappling but most likely they were into MMA by the looks of it. I was binging MMA fights this last few days and being mean to Conor fans, sorry not sorry if this offends anyone lol.
When they started revealing themselves so casually...like "I'm the armoured Titan and he's the colossal Titan", I thought there was some sort of error in the subtitles lol. It took me a while to accept that it was actually happening 😂
I found this comment 1 year ago: So basically Reiner just thought this would happen: Reiner: Ey yo I’m the armored titan Eren: Oh damn that’s pretty lit
he didn't said gimme that neck in the japanese dub when the armored titan attacks him he said ''Good , That Neck , My welcome'' '( i'm a japanese person )
Author is a fan of Brazilian jiu jitsu and it's appropriate that the technique is used against a literal armored opponent which is what the martial art was developed for. Great attention to detail.
It depends on the user, Reiner wasn’t really worthy of the armoured Titan, though eren was worthy of the attack Titan, I’m sure if used by another, stronger user armoured would of had erens but handed to him
my favorite thing about this scene is how eren will grapple with incorrect technique and get punished accurately for it, shows a better understanding of bjj than having eren just do everything perfectly, while also showcasing how he's young and fighting with emotion, love this show
She literally goes for the kill second she realizes that Eren might be in danger. It was perfect, no hesitation, calculated, cold blooded assassination attempt.
This is definitely the best moment in aot and one of the best moments in any anime. Sad it doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as the new season or every scene with Levi in it. Very underrated moment and probably the only reveal scene in any show that I’ve seen that actually surprised me and made sense.
@tkonlyme Naruto has not one single moment that comes close to anything in aot. And this is coming from someone who binged the shit out of Naruto. Its true that these are all opinions but I feel like shows like Naruto are too childish and not nearly mature to stand on par to aot, berserk, fma, vagabond, chainsaw man. Those are all on a league of their own, Naruto feels like evey other shonen
@@skepabbas9400 while their bodies are lighter they are still very well attached just like any being so it is pretty hard to rip a limb off with brute force specially agaisnt the armored titan
@@justduro1527 it is less of a strength feat, because the muscles and ligaments are less dense therefore easier to rip off comparatively to a human trying rip another humans arm off
@@skepabbas9400 Yeah and look what it took Eren to rip it off lmao, and the attack titan is very strong. Also dont forget reiner has armor, it does make it harder
Finna come back here every damn year at least once or several times bro I won’t ever forget how beautiful this anime is. Especially this being my first ever anime years ago. Which also turned out to be my all time favorite.
Pretty solid actually. Some of the techniques and positions were quite good. The first move was a judo throw, dont know the technical name for it. He switched to a triangle-style lock, then transitioned to an armbar. Coming from a grapplers perspective, I was seriously geeking out when he did that. The last hold was an arm-in guillotine. Also pretty solid move as well to use in countering a takedown. Overall an 8/10. For reference, 8 years in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. There's a few videos that give a breakdown of his techniques. Well worth the watch.
@@hidan407 I'm not the one you asked but as a fellow bjj practitioner he could have initiated an arm triangle choke immediately after the takedown when he dodged his punch. Also when he mounted him since his objective is grappling and not punching he should have used his weight distribution better by bringing his torso as close as possible to Reiner also he should have used his legs to to kind of hook and extend Reiner's. In doing so beeing pushed to the side would have been extremely difficult but that's nitpicking overall it was executed really well .
Its so wierd that the skinny guy named eren who was extremely scared at that moment, whom everyone tried to protect, was the guy who wiped out 80% of humanity
Alternative universe: Reiner: "I am the armored titan and he is the colossal titan, come with us and we won't destroy anymore walls." Eren: "okay" Attack on titan ends.
You can see the growth eren went through in between reiners punches. He was devastated yes, but after the first punch he left the monologues and rage be mostly internal. He even used it as an advantage when he got back up, screaming like he always does only to fool reiner into a false sense of security. Then used actual strategy with the techniques Annie used and if it weren't for bertjhsofnekfbsidbskolto he would've dominated him. In his first fight with the armored no less.
@@onz6969 that’s them in human form tho, combat skill transfers over in titan form but physical stats change wildly. Annie’s insane fighting skill coupled with hardening and immense strength make her technically “stronger” than titan Reiner (hes 100% physically stronger tho) Also don’t forget that Reiner blitzed her after acting like he’s ko’d and that’s why she got caught in a choke hold
The thing I most remember about this scene is we finally start to see Eren take control of his titan, when Hange jumped on his shoulders to talk to him and he nodded and she got so happy. I always liked when Erens comrades would stand on the attack titan or in his hands.
Dang when I watch old the older seasons and down, everything just hit so different. The way the character moves, the atmosphere, the animation, the way everything and every side is show in a small scene is so heart feeling. It hits so different. The character and atmosphere feels so real as if I’m right there. Never missing what’s going on with any the characters present at the scene movements, senses, and emotions. The small details makes everything completely different.
This fight taught me a lot about the characters. 1. Eren learns from people he hates 2. Mikasa can get scared 3. Hange is still crazy 4. Reiner's a coward and a sore loser
@@Dave-sb8ui armored titan has the potential of being good at hand to hand combat if Reiner knows how to fight or any Martial Arts style, just like Annie and Eren
@@OHHYESSDOIT that's why he's the main character How can you fight hand to hand combat when hes clearly all made from armor which is really heavy and wouldn't be very flexible for him
Tbh I don’t think anyone realised how much easier it is for eren and Annie’s Titans to win in a fight against anyone else , maybe even zeke, because of how properly proportional and basic their Titans are. They’re Titan body’s are just big people while Reiner had a wide core and legs and skinny arms , like zeke, so it’s hard for them to be fast and better at normal fighting because they have such Weird shaped bodys.
I feel like this is peak Eren. Not only did he completely dismantle the armored, when Mikasa helped by slicing his knees he wasn't insecure (usually he was prior because he felt too weak to handle himself), he was finally controlling himself.
@@thalmoragent9344 Reiner transforms in an orb of lightning, Bert transforms with a lightning strike. Here, you can see lightning strike as well as a small orb of it. Great detail from their side.
@@ishowbiq Doesn't Reiner also transform with a lightning strike? I mean, they technically all have their own orbs and lightning strikes, we see Zeke also use an Orb as well as Eren, so I feel it all depends on how much of the Colossal Titan is being used, like is it only half the size like it was here, or if he was gonna use the nuke ability.
Admittedly I haven’t nearly finished all of aot, but hot DAMN this is epic. This is just peak fight scene perfection (in a somewhat cheesy way). I can’t ever take the monologues seriously, but it does add so much to the action. It’s so corny but it just adds to the charm of badass monster fights.
One more interesting thing about this fight is that this is the first time survey corps main force except levi and erwin saw colossal and armoured titan
8:23 this small little detail is something that everybody forgot about or never noticed, the head of the colossal titan was a literal skeleton while before it wasn't. They revealed one of the colossal titan's weaknesses here already.
So no one will talk about how his veins are pumped on his hand when he punches reiner when they both fall? that little detail shows how much hatred he put into that blow
The sound design at 6:25 just blows me away. The grunting from Eren as he pulls back, which continues in the background as we zoom in on Reiner groaning in pain, and you can just hear the pause as if for breath before it cuts back to Eren bellowing like a victorious silverback
Wow you didn't watched the full video nice 😂😂😂 If you can watch it again you will see that erin ripped of rainer's Hand during the fight. Sorry but that was not an observation.
I love how everyone like Hange and Mikasa was just listening that's everything normal but Mikasa was like in kill mode waiting for them to make a wrong move.
I watch this almost every day that I can. The scene from where Reiner and Bertholdt reveal themselves still gives me chills. The whole process of them transforming with that fire ass music in the back leading up to Eren crying in Reiner's hand and yelling YOU DAMN TRAITORS and transforming mid air to the hardcore music is so FUCKING INTENSE
