You guys misunderstood that Armin's line about thanking Eren. He wasn't thanking him for literally committing a genocide. Armin was thanking Eren for showing him what Eren's vision was like since they were kids: seeing an empty world outside, the dream that Eren wanted to fulfill since Armin introduced him that book. It's confirmed by Isayama that that line was not the perfectly delivered in the manga, so it was changed for the anime version as the definitive one. It also has a double meaning: Armin was actually trying to comfort Eren's feelings, precisely because he knows Eren has overwhelming guilt about the rumbling. We know from earlier seasons that Armin knows how to twist words to deal with people. Armin knows neither of them can undo what has been done, and Eren was going to die anyway. So as a bestfriend, his parting words to Eren were words of comfort. Even if Eren ends up in hell for his sins, Armin assures Eren that he will be by his side in hell too. Because he too has committed sins. Armin assures that Eren will not be alone in hell and he will join him, because they are bestfriends. It's very dark humour if you understand it. The more times I watched the finale, the more comforting that scene felt to me, as strange as it sounds. A bitter sweet respite for the tragic end to Eren Jaeger.

Saving this episode for Monday so I've got something to listen to while I work. I personally strongly disliked the ending of AoT and I've heard a lot of varying opinions on the whole thing, but that was when either the manga or anime ended, so this is going to be my first time hearing someone's opinion on the series after it's truly over over, which I think is going to be interesting. DBZ is a great anime IF you grew up with it. I love it, I grew up with it, but I wouldn't recommend it to new anime watchers. that type of storytelling doesn't work for modern attention spans and its just out dated. Also, side note.. Michael Keaton is the worst batman. buddie is 5'7.. 🤣 no fighting skills, both his batman and Bruce Wayne were bland. there's a reason we don't see him until 30 mins into the movie in Batman 89' 🤣
