振り返れば一人の青年の苦悩や友情愛する人へのアンサーだったの素敵すぎて...

I'm pretty sure the ending is showing us Mikasa passing on to the afterlife right after she died from the old age. In the beginning we saw her jump into the water and then floating in it surrounded by white cherry blossoms which are often used in funerals in Japan and represent the transience of life, rebirth and a new beginning. We see her floating in the water surrounded by them in the exact same position she was buried in, which signals her passing away and her journey into the afterlife. We then see Mikasa experience a dream state where she sees birds on a fence and right under it we are shown 4 red roses which symbolize "Nothing Will Come Between Us", one of the birds is holding 1 red rose signifying "you're the one and only love". Then we see her and Eren running around being happy and at peace together, leaning into each other and being there for each other. She then holds 2 yellow chrysanthemums shining bright which symbolizes the long life she lived with both sorrow and neglected love in her heart and her closing her hands putting out its light showing that its the moment of her death. The final lyric of the song is "I know I'll see you again, lets say goodnight" as Mikasa opens her eyes in the exact same position as she was buried. Her eyes full of tears thinking its just another dream again but no, she has a surprised expression because she sees Eren is right there with her, holding her hand with a yellow butterfly on his hand which represents rebirth, they're finally reunited in the afterlife free from war and cruelty of this world, together for eternity 😭

もう2ヶ月たったけれどこの先もこの作品は絶対に忘れない

昨日、行きつけのラーメン屋でこの曲が流れててビックリした。涙と鼻水と麺を同時にすすりました。

You can tell in the last shot Eren is sitting up next to her waiting for her and when he's helping her up, that's immediately after her death. When their shadows touch it's like their souls coming together, and the bird holding the rose is also Eren I believe taking a flower from her grave hence the low angle. We see him being reincarnated as one and maybe follow Mikasa's life until he can too rest.

This MV is canon and no one can tell me otherwise

and just like that it feels like my childhood has finally come to an end. we've joked about it never ending, but it's actually over over now. thank you to everybody that has played a part in this series.

There's just something so beautiful about characters that got separated by death reuniting in the afterlife as children.

I swear this is the perfect ending for this show. I got happily relieved after knowing the lyrics. You don't need any hard theory to understand the lyrics, the lyrics is easy to understand. And this is the lyrics that destroyed the theory about Mikasa married/love to other than Eren : "I've been trying to find The place I could look for the heart I gave up Who would've thought, Who'd have guessed that I'd find it here That I'd find it here, right beside your heart"

悲しみ、怒り、泣き、歓喜、驚き、、、 全てにおいてこんなに心を大きく揺さぶられた作品は他にありません。 残酷で美しい物語でした。 諫山先生、制作に関わった全ての方々、本当にお疲れ様でした。 この作品は、世界に誇れる日本の宝物です。 ありがとうございました！！！

進撃フェスで後ろに映る映像せこすぎた曲でさえ泣きそうやのに まじで号泣した

アゲハチョウが何かの象徴なのかなと思って調べてみたら、「亡くなった人の魂を導いてくれる」「輪廻転生の再生」とかあって、色んな想像が掻き立てられた。 もしかしたら、ミカサが亡くなった後、たどり着いた死後の世界がedの場所で、エレンがずっと側で手を握ってくれてたのかな…とか。そう思うとまたしんみりと泣けてきた。

凄い。寄り添って歩くシルエットと歌声で涙が止まらない。

This version of the song is missing the one crucial outro which makes this absolutely heart-wrenching. The Spotify version of the song repeats the opening line and answers its own question with: "ずっと探してた 捧げた心臓の在処 こんなところにあったんだ あなたの心臓のそばに" which roughly translates to: "I'm trying to find the place for the heart I gave up. Who would've thought, Who'd have guessed that I'd find it here, right beside your heart." 😭😭😭😭😭

劇場版何があっても観に行きます

I've been concerned and wondering if it really is how their story ended, and if they really reunited in the afterlife. And I've just noticed this detail, to be honest. The detail is - the scar on her right cheek. Some people might have though that this could be a dream or something like this, but it's actually NOT! And the best proof is her scar. The thing is, in the last scene, when she wakes up and sees Eren's hand holding her hand, you can see that Mikasa looks like a kid, just like in the beginning of the anime, BUT the thing is that she has her scar, which shows that actually not a dream or anything else, but it's the moment when Mikasa dies of old age and reunites with her love. I know it was obvious, but the thing is that I JUST noticed this detail. And I'm sooo much happy now that it's really canon and it's how their beautiful story ended! Eremika for life

最初に見た時はこんなに素敵な愛の物語だとは思わなかったよ... ふたりが幸せそうに過ごしてるのを見てるだけで泣けちゃう ありがとう進撃の巨人...

進撃の巨人って他の作品と違ってほんとにこの世界が存在して、この人達がいたような感覚になるんだよね。 だから完結後進撃のキャラ達がいなくなってしまったような寂しさがある。

この曲聞く度に涙が溢れる

1:17 could actually be showing Mikasa waking up in the afterlife and reunited with Eren, who's holding her hand. Look closely and you can see the tears in her eyes, with her hairstyle in a ponytail which is what's shown in the closing scene. The yellow butterfly in the final scene represents the hope of reuniting in the afterlife. The promise of a new life through rebirth is delivered by the yellow butterfly.

最後のシーン、すこし大人びたミカサが目を覚ますと、おそらくエレンが手を取ってくれてるところ、 エレンから遅れて永遠の眠りについたミカサのことを、エレンがずっと待っていてくれたのかな…という描写ですごく素敵ですね スクカー世界も繋がってるのでは？という事だし、進撃が終わったいま、今度こそ平和な世界でエレンとミカサにゆっくり恋をして欲しい 素晴らしいエンディングありがとうございました

この作品が存在するこの時代に生まれれて本当によかった。

人生の半分以上大好きだった作品の完結が怖くてずっと見てなかったけど、本当に素晴らしい作品でした。 小学生のときに考察サイトをノートに写して、マンガもアニメも何十回も見たのを覚えています。 エレン、ミカサ、どこかで幸せになっていてください。 2人がお互いを失っても進み続けているから、私も進撃を失っても生きていけます。アニメのショート動画だけでも号泣してしまうけど、また会える日を楽しみにしています。 長文失礼しました。

サビで寄り添う幼いエレンとミカサの影でいつも号泣してしまう。 影の動きをよく見るとそっと寄り添ってきたミカサをエレンは見ている（影が横顔になっている） ちょっと遠慮がちに頭にもたれているのが本当に尊い。胸を掻きむしるくらい苦しくなる。 小さな時はエレンも素直にミカサを思いやっていたんだろうなと思わせてくれる。 大人になって色々なしがらみに雁字搦めになってしまい切ない結末を迎えたミカサがちゃんと長生きして息を引き取った時に、二人が手を握ってくれないかと願わずにはいられない

I just realised this ending is out-of-order for showing Mikasa reuniting with Eren in the afterlife. 1:17 is right as she passed on and reawakens to see Eren, 1:10 is Eren helping her up and she is shocked to see him, 1:06 is them being excited to see each other and 0:41 is finally them holding hands as they walk off to be in peace My god I’m actually gonna cry

こんな残酷な物語を終わらすラストがまさかの純愛で こんな残酷な物語の根幹が友愛、親愛、ひとを想う心だったことが 衝撃でもあり納得で 人間が例えどんな世界でも 忘れちゃいけないところだろうなって思う。 個人的にはミカサも大事だけど　 エレンにとって気負わず話してわかる賢さのあるアルミンがいたことも この決断において重要だったのではないかとおもってる。 だから、友愛、親愛。 とてもきれいで ステキなプロポーズだった。

ただミカサは帰りたいだけなのにね 世界の平和とか人類の希望とかそんなのどうでもいいんだよエレンがいいんだよ

生きているうちにこんな素敵な作品に出会えてよかった… 製作陣の方々、お疲れ様でした。そして本当にありがとうございました！
