This is exactly the video I've been waiting for! I tried both Attack on Quest and Attack on Titan VR and ended up giving up on Attack on Titan VR because the controls seemed too complicated and hard to pick up, but after watching some videos of AoT VR and seeing how much freedom of movement you have and all the cool shit you can do with it after some practice, I really wanna pick it up again and learn how to do all that. And this video is exactly what I needed, thank you! Keep up the awesome work :D

The amount of times I’ve accidentally dropped my odm gear and realized it AFTER spawning a titan is… embarrassing. Sometimes I escape, if I’m the the town… or if I’m real close to a refill station.

@@Dreamvr-GT That unfortunately sounds like something that can't really be fixed? Maybe adjust character height? Else, you might have to join the discord and say mention it to the devs. Keep in mind they are not too nice to deal with though...

Thanks for this man, I play AOQ some and wanted to try more aot fangames, but this one felt super weird to me. This is awesome. One other thing, maybe the titan fov setting changes the fov that the titan has where it notices you?

Titan for is how wide the titans see it helps if you are new because it makes it so they can see to the side😊

That was my initial though when testing, but I think its broken (at least in the build I played). Changing it didn't seem to actually do that. I could have always just asked Slavka or Jake (I work pretty close with them) but I didn't deem it necessary. Maybe I will and have it as a note when I update the tutorial.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of settings you can change to improve performance. Best thing I can recommend is lower the settings in the graphics tab and lowering the render distance, but even then, it just depends on what is making your game lag.

How do you use the gas in small bursts? When I press the left stick it feel like it just turns the gas on till I land somewhere

Are you holding forward the whole time? Pressing the joy stick down turns on the gas when in the air and then you can press in any direction to have the gas go in that direction. If you don't move the joy stick at all, it shouldn't activate.

How do you manuever mid-air, I can't figure out how to kill any titans, or get the speed or the height needed to get a kill.

The majority of lining up will be done with grapples by grappling onto nearby buildings and then using gas to adjust. Speed will come from the approach. Try starting from further away, or use a gas burst if you are starting close. If you are having trouble getting height, you could try increasing your z-axis boost in your settings, but for taller targets, your going to have to essentially swing your self up to their nape. Hope this helps.

It seems like the controls don''t work on my quest 2. I just started the game exe and it opened in Oculus but I can't open the menu and objects only start to load when I get really close. I don't know how to finish the tutorial. Not sure if my game is bugged or if I'm just to stupid EDIT: I'm stupid, the menu seems to work now but still I couln't find the forest in the tutorial because the trees only spawned in when i was 5 meters away from them. Are there any settings I'm missing? or is it better to run it in steam VR and not oculus?

Glad you figured it out. The tree loading issue is not really an "issue." Its like that right now to help with lag on the quest. As the game gets more optimized, it will get better.

Hey Spectre. I was just wondering if you have any tips to avoid fall damage after a titan kill?

I have only played the newest update a little bit, so its hard to say what you can do to avoid having your orientation thrown off when running into titan, but other than that, avoid attacking titans in a downward angle and if you do, make sure preemptively shoot your grapples and begin reeling in immediately after your attack. Takes practice, but you'll get the hang of it.

USB (type C, since that is the kind you need) are not expensive. You only need a cheap one so you can plug in while it downloads.

Hey, I have a problem with Respawning after being killed by a Titan in the Shiganshina Map, I’m on Quest 2, and Respawn works fine in the Quest map, any fix to that? Or am I just stuck with the Recommended Quest map?

The Shiganshina map was a leftover from the port. It only works fully on PC.

@@julianbalenzano6432 Lol, I think it will. Slavka's goal was to make the equivalent of Attack on Darksouls even if it meant sacrificing the fun from the game. As long as the developers of the official game know what they are doing, I know it will be great.

You can lower your hook pull intensity in the physics tab I believe. That said, I recommend you slowly increase it back up over time. I find that most players who do lower their pull intensity end up using more gas as a means to get back up to speed when they need to. Best thing to do is to practice handling the speed. Perhaps when I update the tutorial I will talk about tips on handling speed.

If you want to move more forward when you use your grapples, lower your Z-Axis boost in your settings. Hope this helps.

Gas should be used for small adjustments. Try using more grapples and then only use gas to line up attacks or to get out of the way of danger. That said, I do know that with the latest build there are bugs. I was helping the developers for a long time debug the game, but I stopped because they started insulting and calling me useless when I would bring up new issues. Hopefully they figure it out on their own.

@@5Chr5ome5 Yeah, it is supposed to be like that. There is no reason to use the joystick when your in the air other then to use gas. You have no air control outside of using gas (or at least you shouldn't).

I am not sure you can anymore. Long story short, apparently the devs can't even download an older verison of their game. Best you can do is tell them to fix their game and hope for the best.
