There is nothing wrong with over thinking a project, because that just means you care about doing a good job, and you show pride in your work. I'm guilty of the same thing as I watch many RU-vid video before I start a project as well. Most of the time there is more than one way to attack a project so it is good to get a feel for the different option and techniques before you start.
That is fatty tissue showing in the widest cut from that dog bite (the yellowish color reflecting the light) This means that he is very vulnerable to infection if it is not treated quickly.
Ryan said they cleaned it and put neosporin on it, and of course a bandaid. What I'm worried about is it may need stitches. The gash looked pretty bad.

Keep an eye on the dog bite. If it get red draw a outline and make sure the redness spreads. Dogs mouths are full of germs. Hope it doesn’t turn into an infection. Jill I’m like you and want to see the fruits of my labor and not wait to finish product. I personally can’t wait to see it done and the planks are done, I think it’s going to be beautiful!

That’s a nasty bite. You need to be careful cus puncture wounds, especially from a dogs mouth can put you at risk of a bad infection. He really should be on antibiotics.

Sometimes our dog either gets too excited or scared and it seems like they’re attacking. It’s so embarrassing. But we have specific instructions to guests so they don’t get attacked! Lol!

Dogs carry around different types of bacteria than we do and that bite has gone right into his bloodstream. I would recomend you to take him in to get a Tetanus shot actually! /nurse student
Generally dog bites don’t get sutured unless it’s something really massive. It’s better to let them heal by secondary intention because of the risk of infection. Keeping it open allows drainage. Just keep it clean and use antibiotic ointment. Monitor for worsening swelling or redness that extends from around the bite area. If that happens he may need antibiotics.
I'm pretty sure dogs can sense evil...lol. Just kidding they get jealous/protective of their human. But seriously though, you should get that checked out, it looks pretty deep.

What made me happy today? I realized it was the 8th, not the 15th...I'd been thinking that December was going by way too fast...😄 Keep a really close watch on that bite to be sure it doesn't get any infection. It looked pretty ragged and I'm sure you don't want a big scar there.
