Attan is Pukhtoon's cultural dance. it was basically a war dance.Pukhtoons were great warriors nd they used to warm up themselves for war nd used to do this attan dance while holding swords in their hands.This dance would gave them high spirits to fight fearlessly.
@Hamida Matin pashtoons r spread in these areas like half in Afghanistan and half in Pakistan (kpk) ...we r not afghanies we love our pakistan so much.. And plzz don't say that all the pashtoons belongs to Afghanistan 🙏... We love our country and don't want to be the part of Afghanistan....
Hamida Matin, you sound like you given up on life, cheer up. On one hand you say 'Afghaniyat' this and that and then on the other hand you talk about other Pashtuns. Does Pashtunwali teach that? No wonder we are in such a mess. Attan is not limited to present day Afghanistan, its spread over the Pashtun homeland, whether you like it or not. Though it may have originated in Paktia, but Pashtuns have a history of being nomads and moving throughout the lands, bringing their culture and dialects with them. That's the story of my tribe, we moved from Kandahar to Swabai over 500 years ago, but our dialect differs from southern 'Pashto' we speak the hard 'Pakhtu'. Wazir, Maseed, Khattak, Banusi, Marwat, Niazai all moved from Paktika to their present tribal distributions. Your painting all Pashtuns of Pakistan with the same brush, we're a diverse group. We have the highlanders Yusufzai, Mohmand, Bajauri, Safi, Afridi, Bangash, Turi, Shinwari, Jaduns, Khalils etc, then you the Wazirs, Maseed, Bansui, Dotani, Gandapur, Sherani, Dawar etc and then comes the Southerners like Achakzai, Kakars, Mondokhails, Tareens, Musakhel, Luni etc and a big population of Ghilzai sub tribes that have settled in Pashtun belt of 'Baluchistan' over decades. So this land is home to many tribes and each have their own dialects, attan, specialities etc. We Yusufzai Mandanr have our own Sport Makha (Archery), the applies other tribes. So don't give certificate's on Pashtunwali or bravery, our lands have given birth to many brave and nangyali Pashtuns, Khushal Khattak, Gaju Khan, Kalu Khan, my own ancestor Bahaku Khan, Samad Achakzai, Mirzali of Waziristan, Bacha Khan, Haji Turangzai, Sanobar Mohmand, Darya and Aimal Afridi, Hamza Shinwari, etc and the latest edition being our own nar Pashteen from Waziristan - Manzoor Maseed. Don't forgot it was your so called kings that signed the Durand agreement with the British even though they installed a puppet like Shah Shuja and don't forgot how your Barakzai kings worked with the Sikhs to hand over Peshawar to Sikhs in order for them to secure their Kabul throne. But when the time came it was those Wazir, Maseed, Dawars that saved Zahir Shah's throne and what did they get in return? They were left to the British while you guys enjoyed your freedom. So humble yourself, death does not discriminate everyone goes with a piece of cloth and their sins/ deeds. Being 'Afghan' wouldn't take you to jannah, being a Momin will, even though I am a Pashtun myself who the Persians call 'Afghan' and the Indians 'Pathan'.

attan is a traditional dance .it is basically from afghanistan and attan was done when the soldiers would return victories from battlefield in old afghan times .back then fata ares were part of afghanistan .attan is performed only by men .attan is change on basis of different areas of aghanistan and fata areas .there is no rehearsel or anything done before attan .it is naturaly coreographed from past times .the one you are watching here in video is not origional attan .sorry for poor english
blue moon .attanr is basically origin of our Pakistani side kuram , afridis and specially wazir mehsood tribe are orignal attanr. Its not that long hair shoking n afghanistan
brother you are wrong .kuram,afridi,s and wazir tribes are origionaly from afghanistan .in old times they were all living under one roof and that was called afghanistan .and everybody knows attan is afghani culture
Hahaha pakistan was not even made when rahman baba, khushal khattak etc were alive, check your history first, if you are pakhtoon and you automatically is afghan by race, because your forefathers were Afghan...
@Feroz Tughlaq Lolz, I can only laugh at you, even pakistani government considers pakhtoon Afghans, but you dont consider yourself Afghan...if you dont believe me, just check your grandfather old NI card, there is written (Qoom Afghan)...
