If you've been struggline to make the PERFECT buttercream, smoothing your cakes, getting square edges, or maybe something in your designs just feel off.. you have to check out my new course! theicingartist.com/course
@@rewbie There was a message from an account claiming to be Laurie and asking for people to message her. I reported it and it disappeared so now my warning looks very odd.
@@TheIcingArtist good for you. I’m grateful you shared that journey with us. I think I’ve watched all your videos (including the piping tips stuff). You have improved but they were never something to be ashamed of ❤️
That "Just like me" after Kevin saying bright and cheery on the inside with a dark soul on the inside gets me 😭😭 btw, I'm here for your chocolate saga!! Its really good to see you slowly overcome your 'hate' relationship with chocolates as you progress with your every contents 💜
They’ve got to be one of my favorite couples on RU-vid. They really support each other and the banter I just love! The beautiful cakes are just like the extra bonus of the videos! But I do appreciate all the time and effort into making this incredible cakes because I can just barely ice a normal cake so you go girl!
I just love the 2 of you, you all are such a joy to watch and I love how Kevin not afraid to be on camera the cake turned out AMAZING as always love y’all ❤
One tip to give on floral design is to hide your flower work on the backside of cake using greenery so you don’t see the flower stems. It gives it a more professional look when you can’t see open spaces or the stems. I am trying to watch all your videos they are so good! Another thing about the beautiful spring cake you made you might experiment with a wispy garland look that wraps around your cakes in a “S” shape design. 🤟💕
You & Kevin are seriously the cutest. The playful banner between the both of you, filming Archie & the captions keep me smiling the whole time. Plus the cake came out amazing as always!!! ❤❤love your channel.
I've been in a really dark place for a while and just getting a notification from this channel makes me so happy, I always love and look forward to your videos ❤️
I'm sorry you've been in a dark place. My friend and I both have a word for that, it's our dark and twisty place. It really helps having someone to talk to when you're in that head space. The feelings can just be too much sometimes and feel like there's no way out for me. 💕💕💕 Sending ALL my love!
I will definitely be enrolling in your course, I only make cakes for family occasions but I still struggle with levelling and making the cakes look how they are in my head. It’s my daughter’s 8th birthday in just over a month so will be good to have some new techniques to use by then 😊 I love the banter between you two 😅 I have adhd and completely relate to the restlessness when Kevin started to ramble 😂
You're not alone!! Honestly for years I would attempt a cake from Pinterest and it end up looking nothing like it having no idea where I went wrong! Trust me I have to covered. Alongside the course I have step by step bonus materials including a CAKE DESIGN WORKBOOK!! This is honestly make designing a breeze! and LOL omg I feel so bad sometimes when my brain just can't keep up but I'm in full panic panic cake cake cake mode hahaha
You are such a joy to watch, and that goes to both of you. Thank you for all the cake knowledge, artistry and also for always cheering me up. Sending all the love to you guys xx
You're such an incredibly likeable person with a very likeable partner. Then your course sales pitch is so genuinely enthusiastic that it's hard not to want to learn to make cakes. I absolutely have zero ability to take something like that on right now, so I'll be happy just continuing to watch you for now but I will be right back here for the course the minute my life slows a touch.
You two had me laughing as you tormented each other, lovingly, it was really fun to watch. Another insane looking cake, I’m always so impressed. Also, thanks for introducing me to the Sorted channel. British cooking show with humor, world cuisine, historical recipes and other fun shows, so interesting. Thanks for all your hard work!❤
Congratulations on your course! As someone who works in eLearning I know how overwhelming they can be to develop. 🥂 You and your team should feel incredibly proud. 💖
We had NO idea how hard this was going to be to create... and every step of the way was just another challenge. But we didn't want to just slap it together and call it a day. The bonus resources alone were months of development to make sure they were easy and helpful and aesthetic (because common, everything HAS to be cute!). But man oh man did this give us some appreciation for the eLearning space 🙌
I love these origami cakes I just watched the other two yesterday lol so happy to see you doing better hope you and your fam stay healthy and happy and safe
I also thought of this! I’m glad your doing it! A buttercream with a lot of butter will freeze solid in the freezer after a few min. It’s how to do the buttercream transfer . I imagined it could be done with this technique. Yay
So excited about the course! Ordered it and have already started watching it. I've got a celebration cake to make in July and hope to notch up my skills by then :)
yay!!! I had to master my techniques to make this course and I'm so mad at myself for not figuring out some of the things earlier. Smoothing out cakes used to be something I dreaded because I could never get them perfectly smooth, but now I LOVE smoothing them! It's so easy and flawless! I can't wait to see what you make
This is the first video I’ve seen of these two and I have to agree with everyone, she’s adorable! They seem like such a happy couple!! What a fun home life that must be!! And beautiful delicious cakes to boot!!
She is litterally the fun grandma who LOVES baking. Thats how I see her, atleast. How I see her, she would make a cake every holiday. Even if it's not even a holiday!
THANK YOU FOR WAITING!!! We wanted it to be perfect, and I'm so excited for you to login and start the course! THANK you for supporting me and believing in the course. This was the longest hardest project I have ever done in my life and I'm SO proud of it! XOXO see you inside!
You really should design your own moulds. You know exactly what you need, & how you need them to play nice whilst working with them. I often feel like the stuff I buy has been designed by people who have no idea how things are supposed to work to be practical.
I have looked for perfect butter cream for years. Italian meringue version, high density shortening, pure butter. Swiss butter creams and and and. I’m signing up for the course just for the recipe. Everything else I learn will be just - yes it’s coming - icing on the cake.
I’d say the purpose of this vid is to demonstrate the technique in a simple, approachable format. For this purpose, a single color makes it easier to see the details. If someone is looking to replicate the technique they can pipe any color combo or design they want into the origami “mold” so that it’s complimentary to the other decorative elements of the cake, and/or suits the theme.
hi Laurie, this is amazing. can't just imagine the heights you will achieve! Had a view of the site and OMG, it shows the hard work behind it... yeah, the course will surely be a blast. Wish you a stroke of very good luck. not just a baking queen you are really a beautiful and a good entertainer 😄 *Laurie the baking queen*
Thanks for checking it out! We had an incredible team in help creating everything with the course (20 different people working through the past year!! so insane!). But I started seeing myself as an entrepreneur a long time ago and I really hope I can continue to make more stuff like this!
Why would you not refrigerate the buttercream while it's on the mold so it was easier to lift and press into the cake? Especially if it's going to be on butcher paper next time. Then you just leave the cake out on the counter for an hour so there icing can warm up and stick to the cake correctly, then refrigerate again to remove the paper. Just an idea.
Your cake looks amazing! I have used freeze dried fruits in my buttercreams with great success. And…congrats on your course! I know it’s been a long time in the making with some hiccups so to see it up and going must make you so proud. Much love from SW France.
I absolutely love this video! You are such a cute couple and truly an inspiration. I did suddenly have a craving for good & plenties :) may be the colors. Keep making these videos please
Have i commented on how lovely and humorous this couple are? Naaaaaaaaah. I love you guys and i pray your marriage will remain happy, peaceful and blessed.
i like white chocolate, I'd love this cake, it's not bad that you did it with icing tho ^u^ perfect for any party! The edible flowers also bring out the yellow too
