Hello everyone, in today's video I'm attempting to fix my n54 engine by swapping the two Vanos sprockets that I believe are the issue for my bmw stalling out and running with a rough idle! This video should help you put your 335i back in correct time if it isn't running correctly!

You first want to start by putting the engine at top dead center by rotating the engine by the crank with a 22 mm to get piston 1 to the highest point with the QR codes facing up, once you get that roughed in you will put the locking pin in the transmission hole and that point will be at absolute top dead center!
After that you will want to release the timing chain tensioner once all of the timing tools are on the engine, this will losen the chain and you will be able to remove the two 16 mm bolts that hold the timing sprockets on the front of the motor!
I then swapped the two sprockets to the correct camshaft, and tried to keep the timing chain in the same spot, you will want to put the sprocket wheels back on and hook them up to the timing tool.
After everything looks good you will put in the black timing tensioner from the kit in the chain tension hole and hand tighten then put the new bolts into the camshaft holes and tighten to 20 nm then 180° for the correct torque!
Then pull all of the timing tools off of the motor and the locking pin out of the transmission then rotate the motor around 2 times and put the timing tools back on to check timing!
I am really hoping this is the solution to my timing issue on my bmw 335i which I will be releasing a video of it starting up after I put everything back together!
