Attending the Tinley Park Reptile Expo!! (2021) 

Re: your retrieved cards… keep an eye on your bank account (or even better, have them issue you new cards with a new number). I accidentally walked away from my purse at Target a few years ago, and was so grateful when my purse was turned in, with all the cards and whatnot still in it. A couple of weeks later, though, there was a charge on my credit card from a Home Depot in Florida. I live in Colorado. So, someone had taken down all the card info, but left the cards themselves, and so managed to still use the cards to pay for stuff, even after we thought our cc was safe.

Emily trying not to cry from being so stressed out made my heart ache, i’m sorry that you lost your phone and it ended up breaking! I hope you were able to easily recover everything that you need from it. Thank you for sharing your time at Tinley! Edit: Also so excited for all the new critters you picked up! I was at Tinley on Saturday and saw Ed and Emily. They couldn’t get but a foot without every person around them wanting a photo or to talk. I felt really bad because it looked really overwhelming. But yet they both handled it with incredible grace and respect to everyone. I didn’t go up because it just seemed too much to add to. I just wanted to help them! I’m not surprised at all the lost phone fiasco happened. My hats off to both of them for staying so grounded and true to their videos even after how huge they are now!

Next year you should bring a staff member to help film so you’re not rushing to get footage. These shows are so fun, might as well make the most of it and have help!

Emily and Ed are such good humans. They are brimming with knowledge and expertise but are never condescending, are always so genuinely nice to everybody, and remain humble and grateful to everybody who supports them despite their great success.

Today while I was out on a bike ride, I nearly ran over a garter snake (it was on a gravel path and it was sunset so it was hard to see), but I checked afterwards to see if he was okay, and he was fine! I picked him up carefully and looked and he didn't seem hurt in any way and looked quite healthy so I put him into the grass and trees beside the path where he was going. It was my first time ever holding a garter snake, heck, even just seeing one for more than a split second, so despite nearly hitting it with my bike, I was pretty excited to see it!

I love how the one polka dot frog widened his eyes when Emily said he glows under a blacklight. He looked like, "Really?!? I didn't know I could do that really cool thing!!" Like that Pixie and Brutus comic when Pixie figures out how to use their claws

Half the people at Tinley were like "yay Ed and Emily!" And the other half were like "What is this line for?"🤣 -also glad you found your phone! Even if its the one that needs the ambulance!

You're totally entitled to have some me time to focus on your business even when you're in a public setting. Someone should make you a vest or something like they have for working dogs so fans know when the vest is on you're on 'business' mode and they can approach you when the vest is off haha!

When Emily was almost crying because of her phone I had to really hold back tears not just because she's soo sweet and doesn't deserve that but also because I know how much it sucks to loose a phone. I'm so sorry but hey now it's time for an upgrade! Love you guys!!

When I heard on Saturday that you lost your phone and everything in it I couldnt even imagine the stress you must have been under! I love love love LOVE the covered leachie table. I wish more people would use displays like that, especially for nocturnal creatures. Even aside from the benefit to the seller that they stay fired up, it's so nice that they don't have the stress of the lights or all the people!

I really appreciate you guys filming this expo. I have never been to any expo, I don't know if we have anything like this where I'm from, at least exclusively reptile themed. Also I'm not good with crowds, so this let's me enjoy an event of this caliber without the downsides of it.

I guessed that the hogs would be lavenders, because they are also my favourite hog morph... you got me when they weren't purple, but then you said they were het lav and it made more sense lol. The fact that Emily shares my love for both those, and for banana morph ball pythons, makes me really happy.

It's kinda weird to watch a Tinley expo video and actually recognize several people and animals. (shout out to butt-frog and that beautiful ornate uromastyx). For those of you who haven't gone, I do recommend making the pilgrimage at least once, it's a fantastic show! I probably will stick to my local shows for now but I can see going again during my lifetime for sure. Just be careful about the lack of sidewalks and general pedestrian-unfriendly areas around the center. It's actually intimidating. I'd like to thank Ed and Emily for being willing to meet with the fans (including me) when they had the time and I'm sorry that our parasocial affection might have caused y'all some stress during the show. I think that such a name, beauty snake, is totally deserved by this cuties. Taiwanese , as I know, are the most docile of all. Definitely do not recommend having a wallet case! Glad you found it, might be worth getting new cards issued for safety purposes. Especially if there was a bank account card, they can be a pain in the butt to get refunds for fraudulent purchases.
