Pardon my lack of knowledge but was he serious that he wasn’t allowed to start the car due to his accident? What is the back story on this? Great car and love his enthusiasm for the sport and specifically Factory X. This is what makes drag racing. Thank you

The first funny cars I saw at the 1969 Indy National ran 200 mph in 7 seconds and that seemed unbelievable then. Mickey Thompson had a blue and a red Mustang funny car running nito and supercharged. I think Danny Ongais drove one and Pat Foster the other. Pro Stock cars and motorcycles now run quicker and faster than the funny cars of those days!
