Use white, LED Christmas lights in the attic space. It will distribute the lighting more evenly, be a lot cooler, and take up less space as you can staple them to the peak areas of the attic space and you will never have to replace them. You can get them on clearance, the day after clearance at our nearest department store.

Ahh very cool. I guess do you know where to look or what terms to search for in order to find out if your attic can support converting into a loft? I have a 1965 home and figured it should be fine but I don’t even know who to ask when it comes to determining is this is even a safe idea for our tiny home

Oh man - I had to create a new access hatch in the hallway of my 1960 house, because the original was in a small closet and had a roof truss above it and offset 250 mm from the center line, meaning you had to be a contortionist to get into the roof space. Add in the typical shallow-pitch roof of these Kiwi houses and the only place you can sit upright is in the middle. Every time I have to go into the roof space (upgrading the existing lights to recessed LEDs), I am forever thankful I did this 14 years ago!

Was hiding roof access in cupboards a trend in NZ in the 90s or something? Getting into our roof space is via a hidden hole like that, except its put right at the edge of the house so you have to go up & bend lest you want to scone your head on the roof going up. Suffice to say I went up once, and haven't bothered going up again ;-)

Good videos Scott. U were talking about Amazon and I was wondering if u have an eBay or Amazon account where u can sell things. I'm asking cus there's a drywall tool I'd like to get from Get tools direct website from Australia, and its the only place they have it for some reason. I called them and they can't send anything apparently to da US. I'm in California. They do however ship to New Zealand and I've been looking for a tradesman fellow man from there here in you tube and I found you under carpenter Australia haha. And I'm also trying this cus it seems like you're quite active on ur channel so I figured ud probably read this sooner than others whom last videos were a year ago. Anyway I know this is an unorthodox way to ask a favor to someone u don't know but u seem like a trustworthy guy and da tool I need it's quite small and costs only 119 dollars so I'm thinking as a show of good faith I can send to da address u have there something u would like from here that's costs about da same and once u get it hopefully u can also send me this tool? That or maybe trough ebay? If u have an account? I know it seems like a drag to b doing all this but if u think that it can be done somehow please get back at me when u get a chance. Thanks a lot. Also I just thought of this! can I try using da address u have above and see if that would work when placing da order? Then once u get it I could pay u a fee on top of what da delivery cost is so that u could send it to me? Of course I won't order it until u give me da ok, da tool is this just so you know: Makita autofeed 25-55mm collated screw attachment 199078-9 Anyway, excuse da long message but hopefully we can.get in touch and figure this out if ur able to of course

Yellotongue slots together. This means if you ever have to take one board out to access cables you have to take out every board on the tongue side of that board too. The other thing is plywood is cheap in NZ compared to yellowtongue.
