Ayer llegó a mis manos, estoy fascinado, increíble fragancia tan exquisita, elegante, la llevo puesta 8 horas y aun sigue en mi piel, no soy de fragancias dulces, pero el dulce de Herod es totalmente placentero.
Herod is the first fragrance I got from PDM. I agree with everything you said. You nailed it spot on!!! I really enjoy watching your videos Dallas. Please keep them coming!!!
I'd just bought a bottle of this the other day & I often find myself just smelling the cap when I'm in my bathroom. Just that short whiff will often last 30 minutes & that just blows me away. Absolutely love this fragrance, and big thanks because your incredible in-depth breakdown was one of the reasons I bought it.
I bought herod recently and when I think i had a productive day and deserve it I shower at the end of the night and before I go to bed I spray a small amount on my wrist and neck and I fall asleep easily
I just wore Herod today at work. And I feel exactly the same about this frag. It is very mysterious. I use 2 sprays of this and like you said less is more. I caught everybody wanting to walk past me to get a whiff.!!!😁
Purchased a bottle and absolutely love it however... I don’t get the 9 hours out of it I’m lucky to get 4-5 hours. Carlisle is still its king IMO I get all day from Carlisle. Also Herod throws out some cherry sent to me
This is my favourite PDM fragrance I've tried so far. It reminds me of a mash up of CH Men, Tobacco Vanille, with the cosiness of "By the Fireplace". I tried Carlisle too after hearing a lot about it, but it's a bit busy, albeit a very "special" spelling fragrance. I can smell some Herod in there, along with a bit of Layton and Pegasus. Herod is easier to like, I think!
I just bought a bottle and am liking it more each time I wear it. I love TF Tobacco Vanille in the cooler weather so I’m still working on getting out of my one horse habit. You do a great job!!! Keep up the exceptional work 🙏🏻
I’m the same tobacco vanille is my absolute go to in the cooler months but I want to try something else. Is it similar to tobacco vanille? Do you like it?
If you like Herod, and you like Layton, then you need to smell that hybrid beast of the two, which is called Carlisle...I think God himself gave the recipe for Carlisle to PDM...
Idk bro. Picked up Carlisle this week and so far, I'm Herod 100 percent. Then again, when I first grabbed Herod, I was digging Layton more. So we'll see lol. I am liking Carlisle more and more. But idk. Herod just defines October-December for me.
Great video as always 👍🏽 My favorite from PDM but since it smells so elegant, classy and cold weather specific, its quite hard to find many occasion (cannot rock it casually) to wear it here in Texas 😅
the first time i smelled this scent, it reminded me of the witch stores in salem, mass lol incense/smokey vibe, so for that reason, i wasn’t too impressed. ill try it some more and see if i change my mind.
Got a bottle of this recently, it last 10+ hours. Sprayed on in the AM 3x and went to store and was asked what I was wearing by a lady standing behind me. Can’t go wrong with this one.
Very nice video. I'm obsessed with Parfums De Marly. Herod will be next. Cant get my hands on the bottle yet. But I did try a decant and I love it. I have Layton and Pegasus.
Great review Dallas. This is a great scent, however does not perform like my Oajan, Carlisle, Layton and Layton exclusif which are beasts. I barely get 6 hours with moderate to soft projection. Keep the great work!!
Thanks for the review. Herod and Godolphin are great. Question - In your opinion which is better - Oajan or Habdan? Did you try Nisean? It's discontinued... is it that bad?
I love Herod and Layton. Both such fantastic and expertly creates fragrances. Your reviews are excellent too. I would say I’m pretty knowledgable on my fragrances and I do have a pretty large collection of Tom Ford, PDM, Amouage and many others. A good few which I have actually blind purchased based on your very accurate reviews and they’ve always pleased me! Keep it up!
I tried Layton yesterday and was a bit disappointed, like for all the hype that it gets, I REALLY wanted to love that fragrance but I did not understand the hype 😂
Absolutely love this one. Received my bottle last week. Also got Le Participe passé from Serge Lutens. Wondering what your opinion is on Serge fragrance. Have you tried any or reviewed any? Passé is my first from the house and I love it, caramelized sugar, dried fruit and resins. Awesome
@@Rexy_boss Projection is below average, especially if compared to Herod. One day it seemed to last 6hrs, the next I could smell it on me after a 10hr work day. So strange, but I want to keep applying it because of the scent. Too early to tell
ok, i got a 75ml bottle of layton, i'm thinking of another offering from pdm. simple, but not so simple lol. herod or carlisle. what say you. good job my man, you cover everything very well.
I'm new to this stuff and i ordered 10 samples online for my first time and so far i have tried this one and the Tom ford fucking fab.. and i gotta say i don't like them at all and i don't understand what it is that people like about this stuff so far the best scent i ever smelled is Hugo boss bottled. But still i love watching these videos and trying out samples i do find it really exciting :D
I was bummed with the longevity and projection of herod on my skin, I was expecting more, it's good, lighter then layton...layton comes off to sweet for me, not a fan of apple fragrances
Totally skin scent on me. Layton far better. If you want better than Herod go for Mr Tom Ford , far better . Love your honesty and content. Kind regards from Bonnie Scotland 🏴
Herod smells beautiful. But the performance is disappointing in terms of projection and longevity. I got myself 2 decants that actually show me the different juice color: One is clear and yellowish One has a very deep brown-redish juice color. Both are authentic and both perform equally as disappointing. Too bad the scent itself is so beautiful, sweet, cherry tobacco with a hint of vanilla.
Herod is a banger but they've weakened it sadly. Alexandria arabian horse is better in terms of longevity. I need another vintage bottle of herod :(. My new layton is good tho so thats a plus. But that herod has been reformulated since 2016
Both Herod and Layton don't perform really well. Layton has monster projection but only for 2 hours, after that it's a skin scent. After 4 hours it's completely gone. Herod unfortunately doesn't have longevity nor projection on my skin. So tragic since they smell amazing. Can't wait try these alexandria fragrances out.
@@xzombo32 Layton performs well on me, I easily get 8-9h with 2h massive projection, 2020 batch. Maybe you get nose blind to it? Just yesterday I wore Layton at work and although I couldn’t smell it or get whiffs my coworker said she could smell it pretty good 8 hours in. I’m hoping that’s the case with Herod too as it’s next on my list
10/10 scent. 4/10 performance on my skin (2019 batch). 2-3 hours of longevity only and projection could also be better. That's why I won't buy a full bottle of this.
LMAO. My 2019 batch lasts till the next day and people across the room could smell me. Trust me, Herod is so strong that its easy to become anosmic to it, making others think it's weak
@@jkyle0816 I had about 5 sprays. 30 min later my sister came into my house. I asked how she likes my new fragrance, but she couldn't smell it ( 2 feet away). That's just my experience.
Is the tobacco very strong as in overpowering? Does it smell like someone just smoked a cigarette? I love vanilla, is it obvious? I’m buying a bottle then not buying a bottle. I can’t decide. I need help.
The tobacco is tame and it's super easy to wear. It does not smell like you just smoked a cigarette. Vanilla is featured here and I believe you will be satisfied with Herod.
lyton and percival performs more in my skin than herod and Carlisle. think these 2 warm frags is not for me. i get a same sting i get in Carlisle and herod. it only last 6-7hrs in my skin, unlike lyton and percival that took forever.
Acquired taste, not for me. A bit of a risk and honestly I don't feel I have occasions where I need to smell like Herod. Layton is the one for me I think
Definitely, I own it and I am 22 myself. However, I'd say it's more of a special occasion fragrance (date for example) or for a high-dressed moment. You won't get away with this wearing hoodies and sweats or during a casual day at University. That's just my opinion though. Also depends on the type of person you are, of course. Absolutely stunning scent though, buy a sample. ;)
The opening is very nice, but it dries down to zara rich warm addicitve in about an hour or so. The drydown smells quite cheap and bland in my opinion. I have a similar problem with layton. On the other hand, Tom Ford and Creed drydowns are the best. So in this regard parfums de marly is like a designer fragrance brand.
Horrible cologne. Skin scent. Reforumulated. Why do u think it's just popping up all of a sudden. All these advertisers on RU-vid are collectively deciding on reviewing it after all these years and are getting paid. It's a skin scent after 30 mins
Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Herod. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 78%. The new formulation I see in stores has 81% alcohol. My formulation is a dark orange / amber color. The new formulation is a very light, faint orange in color. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS getting reformulated and become much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Carlisle, Layton & Oajan have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.
@@FitFireFighter86 PDM is appropriately priced for the most part. Herod is tricky because it's somewhat close to Pure Havane. It's not as unique as say Pegasus.
