Lots of great ideas especially for the novice campers just starting out to know what to take with them. Keep the videos coming, we enjoy watching your camping trips, food prep, and solo runs the most.

Hey Mike, thank you ! I love being near water, plus the smell of the ocean is always nice. You're right, it's always smart to have quality kit and be prepared ! thanks!

That's exactly what I carry.. if you subtract all the usable stuff and replace it with extra beer and 10lbs of sausage.... I'm fat
@Maritimer

haha I'm a fat kit at heart ! lol we always cook sausages on the trail bc it's easy, so I wanted to switch it up a bit, it turned out great. Cant go camping without beer !

Hey buddy, another great video, I left a thumbs up, but didn’t comment I guess back then lol, anyways appreciate the run down, all great items for sure, like that little dual fuel stove.. like to pick up one myself! These gear vids definitely are making me rethink what I have in back of the wheeler for gear! Anyways thanks for taking time during your trip to do this vid for us! I know i found it helpful for sure and will be considering some additions to my own gear for the upcoming season, anyways take care and will see you on the next one! Cheers!

It makes total sense to put the coffee and juice packs with the water container. That's where I would have put it. And I am happy to know I wouldn't be the only one forgetting where the heck I it was! HAHAHAHA!!! That was funny! I have a pull-start recoil on my 2015 Honda Rubicon. Honda puts them on all their machines (except maybe the Rincon??), but then again . . . doesn't Honda make lawnmowers? HAHAHAHA!!! Ahhhhhh yes, the beer cooler! One mustn't forget the beer cooler - LOL Wait!!! No fold up shovel for #2 burial? - lol And what about bear spray? No bears out there? Excellent stuff bud! I miss the days of the backwoods camping adventures. Looks like you had a great site there. I always slept like a baby with the sound of the waves hitting the shore! Thanx for sharin'! (PS: your stickers get shown off in my next video)
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 6 лет назад
Hey Q ! I don't know I almost always keep the coffee in my kettle ! lol I have a terrible memory lol haha having a secondary start is awesome ! I sure wish I had one, and yes they do make mowers, I have a Honda push mower lol !! I don't have a shovel or bear spray, those are good ideas ! (Wendell will protect me from a bear.... hahahaha) Awesome I can't wait to see your next video, you guys are crazy, keep the videos coming buddy !
@NavigateOffroad
@NavigateOffroad 6 лет назад
You sleep in the Canadian woods without bear spray??? I hope you at least have a rifle..or a death wish. 🤣 J/k, I've never even been to Canada (sad I know). I assume it's like Alaska though in the sense that you carry a gun and bear spray when sleeping in the woods.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 6 лет назад
hahaha yeah I really should get some bear spray..... I like to have a gun with me but people are so scared of guns now it's insane.... and as far as I know I can't just bring a gun in the woods with me, I'd need to have a hunting license, just to have the excuse to have the gun.... Canada isn't quite as easy going with the guns as you guys are.... but I do have my Fire Arms license and hunting license, just need to go buy a "Varment license" then I can have a gun in the woods I believe... Sure wish I could just bring it for protection....

Not a bad load out. The only thing I would add is spare parts like a belt. If your belt burns up in th woods, without a spare your screwed.

Hey man ! thats awesome ! you got the biggest baddest bike haha What are you looking to do to it? I recommend 1) Good set of tires (stock ones usually aren't great) 2) Winch, to get ya un-stuck haha. All your camping gear can be put into dry bags, so a storage box isn't needed but I'd say a good quality tent and sleeping bag is important, plus an air mattress for comfort. You can roll up extra clothes for a pillow or buy an inflatable one. Also you will probably want a way to secondary start your bike just incase the battery dies.... I have a video on that too. I have just a Motomaster battery bank/car starter, I usually carry two, one to charge camera equipment, and one to start the bike. (haven't needed it yet)

Nice video man, good info. Not sure if you've thought about it before, but camelbacks are a great replacement to carrying a canteen or two around. Plus you can strap them down and still grab a drink while riding.

Really enjoyed your video. Something you may want to try that works great for me, I think you have the same rear box that I have. Factory Yamaha box. In the right rear corner of the box I installed a double lighter type plug to charge phone or what ever you wish while riding. I ran power to the rear box. I also have 2 LED lights in each side of the box. A toggle switch just above plug outlets for LEDs. If I New how to send you a picture I would. Works great.
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 5 лет назад
Hey Terry ! glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the support ! I might look into that, that's a good idea ! always nice to have spots to charge things. I sure wish the bike makers would put those 12v outlets somewhere better, maybe in the storage compartment or something, it's not like people will have there phones charging outside the bike while it's moving haha

Love the video. How do you keep your drybag or other gear from being damaged from rubbing when strapped to the racks? I seem to have a lot of damaged gear from rubbing on the metal racks, vibration etc. Tried a cheap tarp underneath with mixed results
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 5 лет назад
Hey, we'll there is no protection, I just strapped it tight with bungie cords, and it didn't more, no wear marks after. so hopefully that works for me. I do have a rubber mat, really high quality, its what a power linesman would use to insulate himself from a hotline while he's working... I used to use that under my soft bag on my old Grizz, maybe i'll try that again.

I envy you. My goal is to go on a multi-day long distance atv camping trip that covers Wisconsin and Michigan, Also, I was thinking about a 2018/2019 Grizzly (standard edition with eps). What is your honest opinion about the unit as far as reliability and overall satisfaction. Any input would be much appreciated Thanks! Keep up the great videos!!
@Maritimer
@Maritimer 6 лет назад
man I'd love to go on a multi-day trip, with different camping locations, maybe my next trip ! To be honest I'd go with the 2019 model, they went back to the 686cc motor (2016-2018 is the new 708cc) but that 686 is bullet proof and have far less issues than the 708 motor, which is probably why Yamaha went back to it. Saying that my bike hasn't had any issues as of yet. The Grizzly is known for being reliable and a great trail bike, you'll never compete with Can Am for power but if your doing trail riding 40-55klm/hr then you really don't need 1000cc Twin. it's overkill. Some guys all they care about is having the power and fastest bike, and thats totally fine, it's just not my style. thanks for the support !
@NavigateOffroad
@NavigateOffroad 6 лет назад
Alan Capoldo why dont you? There are multiple places in Michigan and Wisconsin you could pull it off. Just no time?? Would be a great adventure I'd you could. I keep saying I'm going to do it as well but haven't done a multi day, so dont get me wrong no judgement here...haha

@Maritimer
@Maritimer 6 лет назад
Hey Vic ! I was never a fan of the electric shift, they should stick with manual foot shift or just go Automatic like everyone else. The 2019 Grizzly is really nice and they went back to the 686cc engine which is more reliable than the 708cc (that I have on my bike) and you deff can't go wrong with a King Quad, they are awesome.

I wish it were that easy.... in Canada the gun laws are strict. I cant ever have a pistol with me, only allowed at gun ranges. and to have my shot gun or rifle It needs to be hunting season of some sort, there is a season most of the year though just none during the winter months.
