First trip with homemade trailer. Trailer carrying ca:250kg (550lbs) Hitch is a standard 50mm (2") ball hitch type modified to articulate. It works very well. Polaris Sportsman 1000 Work Mode ideal for slow pulling in terrain
I was really pleased for you that you got your tent completely set up and the stove on before that epic rainstorm. Your trailer was excellent, the suspension was particularly impressive going over that fallen tree, and it was great to hear of the trusting villager whom gave you use of his workshop, what a lovely kind man. Your journey looked really beautiful, lovely riding, scenery and adventure, with a wonderful, warm tent at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing your video.
Very nice and well done.I enjoyed watching your video and it gave me a few good ideas for my upcoming build.Looks like you guys had fun, keep them coming
2018 October 3day 240km trip gave no video due to camera failure,, sorry. Trailer was reinforced before this trip and all went ok. We take turns to pull the trailer so everyone can share the higher fuel consumtion.
Wow! Great stuff. I love what you’ve done and I’m looking forward to a much longer video. What luck to find a welder as well. That monster was cool but not much footage of it. It looks man made? Was it a native people pure water catchment? Very interesting.
Great job, but I'm a bit concerns about the high centre of gravity. Shouldn't you have widened the axles a couple more inches to prevent roll-over like what happened near the end? In the meantime, this looked like a fabulous adventure. Where?
Axle track width is chosen to follow the ATV tracks in tight turns i.e tight forest. It's allways a tradeoff. We roll the trailer now an then, it's no big deal for us. See latest video :-)
awesome trailer setup! I think I might need me one of those now ;-) .....why was that creek the color of coca cola? it's really clear, not muddy, just brown
hi i work for a dealer and i just took home an old box for a ranger 6x6 im looking at making a trailer out of it, great video looked kind of top heavy at some times, how did it ride at faster speeds 20-30 mph? great video i subbed
Trailer has no problem at higher speeds due to twin axels. Runs very stable. Twin axle "walking beam" is the way to go. See our ATV campers on my channel. Yes it's a bit top heavy fully loaded but we prefer to have narrow track between wheels so trailer will not cut corners. That is a big advantage in tight terrain.
Tony Williams Thanks Tony ! You gave my brain something to wrap around since I can’t put my hands on the handlebars right now with this virus going around . I’ve been thinking about a trailer for a while and I don’t plan on using wood . Nice job guy .
This clearly demonstrates the benefits of the articulating axle quad trailer. Being an outdoor enthusiast all my life I get very concerned about the impact that atv's are having on our precious wetland areas. I have seen whole forest ecosystems destroyed by these powerful machines. It isn't the machines but the irresponsible users that are doing this. We are the victims of our own success and we all pay the price especially the animals that call these desecrated areas home.
