ATV Swamp Tracking Through Snow - Can-Am XT 1000 & Yamaha Grizzly 700

Out for a ride to try out the new Can-Am Outlander XT 1000 in the snow alongside the Yamaha Grizzly 700.
It is the remaining footage from the last video's ride. Another cold day, but at least it was a bit warmer. This has been another waaay too cold winter like last year.
Both riding on Commander Tracks which worked awesome. The snow is getting pretty deep now as you hear in the video. (ya, ya, we were just a bit excited to get out of the house. lol) Since this video though, we have had almost another foot of the stuff and it has been brutally cold since. Oh well, Spring will get here eventually.

Lot`s of snow cubbeezx! Very lucky lol! You know just saying you should get DPS for the outty. It has 3 modes of power steering, so like min,med,then high. Just to help out with steering if your in a bad spot or something. And just last week I took a buds 1K for a rip,man oh man, the thing likes to just pull. That will be my next atv for sure. But XMR I think, and with the 360 apache tracks :)!

Kyle Fitzgerald Yes, we have got quite a bit of snow this past month..it is really DEEP out there LOL The Outlander has the 3 modes of steering, and I've noticed it is easier to steer than the Grizzly. Definitely LOTS of power...you'll be happy with one for sure. Thanks for watching.

Great video you guys! I appreciate your videos because I can feel like I'm riding and still stay warm. Here in Michigan the weather man's favorite phrase is "more cold air from Canada". I wish you would keep your air up there! I use my four wheeler for plowing snow and we can't even get one day that I can thaw out the ice and snow on it! By the way, I'm kinda getting used to the Can Am but I'm still glad to see the Grizzly in the videos!

Curt Alphenaar Thanks very much Curt! Glad you enjoy the ride along with us. Sorry about the cold air...hoping it warms up here soon. Takes us a good hour to try and clear most of the snow out of the suspension when we get back home...heated garage would be nice! Love the Grizzly and always will.

Hahaha that was a fun video; and pretty nostalgic with the Sesame Street & Weebles references - LOL. I liked the "boinging spring" sound for the word deep. Funny. I'm always amazed at how much snow those things can go through with the tracks on. That CanAm is so powerful - YIKES! When you were going down that steep hill it didn't look like much from CK's camera, but from yours we could really see how bad it was - Yikes again! CK looks so tiny on those machines {probably because she's a tiny person :) } It's really nice of you to keep those trails groomed for your neighbour. Thumbs up to you guys for being good neighbours!!! Thanx for sharin' your day.

I don't think I even remember what -30c feels like, let alone -45. Here in the Okanagan it barley hit -20 and it lasted 2 days, not like the good old days when I lived in Manitoba and it stayed -40 for 2 months. Great video, but I'm not sure if I would be out there without handle bar warmers.

another great vid! i hear you about the weather. Just got a wildcat trail but i live in NB we got hit by 4-5 blizzards in 3 weeks...snow is almost 6 feet high, haven't got it on any trails yet, good to see someone gets to play with their new toy tho :) , can't wait to see more

that is really awesome video cubbeezx and ck .. sure does tracks system goes pretty good .. but 1 big problem .. the beaver will get revenge this summer .. oohh boy .. lol oh and guess what .. speaking of tracks system .. me and my buddy fred will build one this summer and plus the tracks will be lots more traction then your track and here why .. your track cubbeezx is all rubber .. but the way we going to build is all cleats ... and abit wider too .. that will be awesome project for us .. can wait to try it out next winter

Wow the tracks look awesome and it look's like a lot of fun riding in the snow and I know you 2 have on them heavy duty suits but neg. 20 to cold for me I'll just stay inside and watch you 2. Great video and the can-am looks good on tracks kinda surprised Cubbee hasn't figured out how to ride a wheelie on the tracks yet LOL but I know before it's over he will I'm sure of it just kidding

any Caliber It was a cold day, but we dressed warm and felt nice and toasty warm for most of the ride. They tracks are a blast in the snow, and we had a great time. No wheelies on the tracks yet...almost impossible but I'm sure when the wheels go back on...watch out! Thanks for watching.

Nice. You doing a great job of making me want to trade in my KQ750 on a new Outlander 1000! lol. I had the twin that started it all years ago, the Kawasaki Prairie 700. I loved the instant torque at whatever speed I was doing. It used to outrun just about any sport quad back then in the little drag races,lo! I'm liking that new Gen 2 Can am more and more. I wonder if the snowmobile clubs would let me run a tracked atv on our trails here in Pa? i would have to ask and see. I could see windshieds in your future for your winter atv riding. Nice video as always, stay warm!

Stu650Zuk Thanks for checking out the video. The power of the Vtwin is nice! Around here you cannot run ATVs with tracks on the groomed snowmobile trails, but I know in other places they do let you. Best to check I guess. A windshield would really help to cut the wind...riding an ATV at -20 feels a lot colder than riding a snowmobile at -20! Thanks again.

Nice videos, I have watched a few of them. What map program do you use in the Garmin? I currently have TopoCanada, but just purchased Backroads Map Ontario GPS. Your GPS seems to indicate many side trails, or is it previous tracks you saved. Thanks.

Canesser No hand warmers on the Can-Am. One of the first accessories I need to add. Can Am does apparently make a set that is very easy to install. A must for winters around here!

TROY BURDON Tracks are great for cruising around in the snow and exploring. You can go places you wouldn't be able to go in the summer. We haven't gone a lot of miles with tracks, however so far no issues at all with wear on anything, including belts and clutches. They are designed to gear down the quad so there is reduced top speed. The Commander WS4 tracks are very easy to steer and don't get plugged up with snow..FUN, FUN, FUN!

undetectable6221 We are planning a 1" lift on the Kodiak...2 or 3 is pretty big....not sure if it would do any damage, but probably would put some extra stress on things...maybe some of our viewers have done it already?

Do both those machines, the Yamaha and the CanAm ( well I know the Can Am does ) have power steering? If you folks travelled in staggered tracks through the snow, you'd clear a dandy snowshoe or ski trail , wouldn't you? Great, to have those tracks, why bother with a snowmobile, when you have these track equipped ATV's. These tracks can be used almost all year 'round.

Hey Reg. Yes they sure do...definitely makes steering with tracks on a lot easier. We groom lots of trails around our neck of the woods and they sure do work good! We pull a set of 3 tires hooked together to pack/smooth a trail for walking. The tracks do sure help to turn the ATV's into all season vehicles! Thanks for checking out the video.

+miller440x They were very similar however we found the WS4's were easier to steer than the Tatou's. There were also wider and the snow didn't stick to them as much. Hope that helps!

I feel Can-Am fever coming upon me lol. Veryt impressed with that beast. Don't be surprised if I end up with one this summer! Do prefer to break it in during the summer on wheels but looks like you're treating her nice on the tracks! So you enjoy riding tracked ATVs more than snow mobiles? Did you get rid of yours?

Canesser LOL Definitely impressed with the power of the Can Am! Looking forward to testing it out this summer with tires on...breaking it in is no fun, but really trying to do my best LOL Our snowmobiles were older and had the short tracks and we found in the deep snow, they would always be getting stuck. Tracks were a lot cheaper than 2 new sleds, (but don't get me wrong new sleds would be nice!) Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video.

Exactly, I'm weighing the options knowing that sleds are so much more expensive (in so many ways) and it's hard to justify a sled and ATV in the garage. Need to win the lottery. An upgrade on the other hand . . . Would probably only need to get a mounting kit for my Camoplast T4Ss and could transfer the tracks right over?

Robert Huckell Hey Robert...CK here...honest I had the Grizzly to the bar....it was full throttle and wasn't even close...Love the Grizzly but of course with smaller engine it's not going to be as fast as the Can Am.
