ATV Trail Riding in BC - Day 4 AM Ride - Lake/Cabin Hunting

This is Day 5 at Moyie, and Day 4 of riding. This was our morning ride.
I had no phone/GPS this morning because I had dropped it in the creek the night before while vigorously shaking the 10 lbs of trail dust out of my pants. Luckily, it landed perfectly on the rocks, popping off the back & spewing out the battery. It was submerged in elbow deep water, but never got damaged (with the exception of a few tiny light spots on my screen which are barely noticeable).
Our mission for the day was to look for Cooper Lake & any trapper cabins we happened across along the way. Problem was, we had no idea which road would take us there. I could see the lake on my Phone/GPS topo map, but there were no trails/roads leading to it on my map. Why we never thought of using Lloyd's phone to check out Google Earth is beyond me. I'll just chalk it up to old-guy-ism.

We started off heading in the right direction, but quickly got sidetracked by all the excellent opportunities posed by the many side trails leading off the main road. Our A.D.D. was kicking in hard at this point; or was it the old-guy-ism? Not sure. Oh well, that's how it goes when you're trail riding . . . you just kinda' explore.

LOL - Thanx for the comments Cubbee - appreciated! I think I have just over 1,100 miles on it now. I doubt you'd wanna see any video footage of a fat old man bathing in a mountain river - LOL - not a pretty sight. Not sure if you've seen Day 3 ride yet, but it was definitely a better video. Thanx for watchin'!

Hi Marion. The next one "should" be up in a few days, but no promises. I seem to be away from home more than "at" home these days. Thanx for commenting & for watching!

Hey Gunny! Ya, if I hadn't have left my camera on the dash of Lloyd's truck, we would have seen a lot more. Oh well, makes for a shorter vid - LOL. Thanx for the comments & for watchin'! Greatly appreciated!

Hey Worktoride Ace, I live in the Province of Saskatchewan. The southern half is mostly farm land and the northern half is boreal forest. I live in the south, in the Capital city, Regina. Check it out on Wikipedia. Enjoy your 3 months off. I'll definitely check out your videos when u post them. Thanx again for the comments and for watchin!

That cabin is ideal for a zombie hideout,fresh water from the spring,and too far out of town for the zombies to walk ;)

Nice video Quad! I like all the creek crossings in this one! Sorry to hear that happened to your phone, but that was good that it checked out OK. I think it happens to everyone at least once. My last pnone got crushed by one of "B's" hooves so it was not fixable. I got in late on this vid, but it was a good one! Thanks for Sharing!!!

Another masterpiece for the video archives.As to your GPS anomaly, Garmin 62 series is very capable and should handle all your requirements.The next time you are in this area camping just think about the bear just behind the camper.It is "Barely Possible" he just might want a snack!Just curious what machines are you counterparts riding?In my last post you told me the cook position was filled, how about "dish washer". I just wish I was their with you.Thanks 4 sharing with others, Ken

Great video. Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the commentary. The Honda with electronic shift persuaded me to go that route. Thanks for the great enjoyment. Looming forward to the next video.

Is this the cobre lake just past elliot lake
@quaddingsous

Hi Robert, If you are referring to Elliot Lake up near 100 Mile House, no it is not. This is Cooper Lake in the Moyie Mountain Range in BC, Canada. I checked the maps and could not find an Elliot Lake in the area, so you are probably referring to a different spot. If we are indeed talking about the same area, I'd be interested in knowing where Elliot Lake is. Thanx for the comments and for watchin'!

Hello Brykl1, I agree, it is beautiful country. I am going back to the mountains this coming August (hopefully) for an ATV trip. It has been 2 years now since my last trip there. Thank you for the kind word and thank you for watching!
