As I was watching Aty and Ui playing nicely together, Captain Aty suddenly turned into a baby.
I've never seen this happen before, but what the heck is going on?
On this day, he clung to my body and wouldn't leave me even after the photo shoot.

Q&A >Does Ui ever get jealous of Aty who is pampered with me? No. Ui doesn't get jealous at all, even when Aty wants to be pampered with me. >Doesn't Ui bite Aty when they are playing? She still bites Aty sometimes. But now that Aty has started to forgive Ui, I've decided to keep an eye on them. They're getting along better and better without my intervention.

Thanks Mr Otterman for sharing Aty's & Ui's life with us. It's a special moment for us to watch them wherever they are. Ui is becoming herself also a good swimmer. She has the same muscular body as Aty has. It's why I think they can swimmer in a deep wather as soon as she is able to control her afraid. I noticed that Aty snuggled Ui many times. I' m happy they are more and more friendly and showing affection to each other. Hugs from Brazil.

Otters, especially very active ones like Aty and Ui, need to eat frequently. They digest what they eat very quickly, so they have to refuel often to maintain good health. As you may have noticed, they want to eat, exercise some more, and eat again or else eat exercise really hard, and sleep soundly for awhile. If they were in the wild, they would spend about 3-5 hours a day (or in the case of females of breeding age 5-8 hours a day) hunting to feed themselves and their young. Otterman helps Aty and Ui live as close to a natural otter life as he can. Some of the other otter owners aren't as knowledgeable and/or scrupulous about their otters' diet and exercise as he is.

Aty is a wonderful little man. He has helped a lot to rehabilitate Ui. Every now and then I think he just wants to chill out and enjoy being daddy’s little boy, daddy’s baby. You have done wonders Otterman dad!

ATY is falling back into baby patterns because Ui has gotten more attention than his mind and heart can accept. It's a common phenomenon in kinder garden, that older siblings show reactions like baby talk, clinging onto, rattling their toys or rolling over just like a toddler. They copy those patterns because they have experienced that it is causing their parents to care for those who do that. It usually is a sign for a long lasting deficit of attention. I would say, Aty is asking Otterman for more one to one time on his conditions.

I saw Lin-san's video that Otterman was holding Ui so tenderly like jewelry on a boat, while Aty was on his shoulder (caz Aty was not afraid of being on the boat). No wonder Aty wants to return to baby. He would also want to receive special care from Otterman. I'm sure he has had more than enough, though:) Never enough...♪♫

Otterman, first, I love how you make and share these videos, showing your love and caring for your otters. Second, I think there is a harness system where you could wear a light vest that has a clip on the front or side which would allow you to have hands free yet also keep both otters on their long leashes clipped to you. Could be handy.

Ui-chan still has some food aggression. I know from experience that's an extremely difficult habit to break a pet of. Meanwhile, Aty is still jealous of his new roommate even as they're now willing & able to play together. Some days he just wants Daddy to himself. He looked down at Ui… then climbed further up Otterman's arm. Silly spoiled boy.

The change in Ui's swimming capabilities in just a few weeks is amazing. From being terrified to go underwater if she couldn't touch bottom and still have her head able to pop out, she's now got her technique down and she dives and swims like a pro, perfectly calmly. She's gained a lot of confidence in her abilities.

It seems like Ui is gobbling and swallowing her food rather than chewing it well like Aty? I think somehow she needs to learn to eat slower or she may end up overweight like Hana, who also learned early on to just swallow her food🤭 instead of chewing it🤢 you’ve done an absolutely great job of raising Aty❤️🥰😘❤️ I hope for similar results with Ui, though she had a much rougher start in life. Much love to all of you❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I noticed that too. Aty is not yet finish one fish, and Ui already gobbled up two fish. 🤭 Ui eats VERY FAST.

I don't think Ui will run into the same issues as Princess "Big H" Hana. Otterman keeps his otter-children on a pretty strict diet _and_ takes them to rivers regularly. Also, much as I love her, Hana is quite _l a z y._ Ui is not. Remember: Ui spent all of her youth in solitary confinement. One thing that does is conditions you to eat fast.
