Thanks so much Vicente...yes, I was thinking the Rosemarkie was suitable for the delicate ornamentation and sparse harmony that can be used for Medieval music. Thanks, your comments on this harp have inspired me! Julie
Youre wellcome, The Rosemarkie, is made based on medieval harp carvins, and with the medieval style of harp and sound..light string tension, gut strings etc so it gives that particular medieval inspired particular sound of medieval harp style. After comes the playing style too...i play with finger nails.... But yes, that harp you want to get is perfect for playing medieval music indeed!
This is so beautiful Vicente! I was thinking of ordering the Rosemarkie medieval harp from Ardival (19 stringed) as the bigger ones are beyond my pocket! I would be a complete beginner on harp but have played various folk instruments before like concertina and whistle and love Medieval, especially ornamented the way you play, such an ancient sound. Do you think a 19 stringed harp a decent choice for this sort of early music? I'd be very grateful for your advice, thanks so much Julie
Thanks Julie! Yes indeed a Rossemarkie 19 string medieval harp is perfect for playing medieval music.. Also, Ardival harps are very nice instruments ! So you wont regret if you get one! ;)
