What I notices is that you only invite people who share your views. Why don't you invite somebody who will challenge them. It does not have to be extreme but I do not see a lot of critical thinking here. You tried to give DA credit for being to some degree a good oposition party and that was shot down. If everything the DA does is racist then these discussions become mute. The answer is already absolute.
@@thomasprogli3372In defence of this platform I'd posit that any right thinking mind knows that the majority of people in this kantry have been stifled and crumpled upon for eons. Every time Gogo Aubrey is here, I feel like a little sitting at the feet of her elder and looking up to learn so much. Truly, his wisdom surpasses human understanding. ❤
Gogo and Sizwe I give you my highest accolades for the fair and honest intellectual analysis, I hope that this type of discussion can be archived for our kids to understand our past, present and future.
Sizwe your relationship with Gogo doesn’t go unnoticed, I am happy for you in that regard. I am glad that many things I have explained from my own research, understanding and observations are expressed by Gogo. It’s comforting and a relief. I have been explaining the recent occurrences in our country’s politics, with the aim of making it so easy that the anyone, from child to the not politically versed adult, can understand it. Our people’s lack of education has resulted in a relaxed posture from our leaders and collectively we need to scrutinise information and impart it onto others in a language they can understand and process. Thank you for a great show always!

Another great episode 👏 Dr. Sizwe. Please let 🙏 continue to have such conversations, we may not agree as South Africans but lets keep the dialog on especially for such a time as this. I thank you and team 🙏, this job is not easy, i appreciate your platform.
This people run behind white people, study at historical white schools, stay in historical white suburbs. They come and tell you how bad is the system they are benefiting from.
Hi Sizwe could you please Pls invite Professor Mandlakayise John Hlophe, a leader of the third biggest party, MKP in parliament, a man who suffered systematic racism in western cape
South Africa Country is not Zuma own, his house He must take care on his sick leave history and 82 years Go and rest to take care of all his grandchildren. Zuma must stop making jokes and noise
I can see the racial hate in your comment. As if us whites have captured the country lol we control nothing. Stop blaming whites and have a look at your leaders. 30 years of black people in power and its gotten worse! Education is worse! Wake up and realise the last good president your party had is the great Mandela. Since then its been a bunch of people whose only priority was to make themselves and their families richer, not to help the nation
I have listened to all the SMWX episodes since the elections for political insights, including this episode. However, I found that this conversation pushed me to think deeper about how I view life altogether. Thank you.

I'm in Swaziland, but I follow your podcasts Mr Mpofu-Welsh, you have done a good analysis of the SA political sphere, that both left and right have a fair share of wrongs, which end up jeopardizing the ultimate goal of attaining democracy. MK and EFF have done mistakes, but the DA has racist push backs to other parties that they do not favour, killing the spirit of forming a GNU.
MK has done no mistakes. All it deed was enter the political space and contest elections. EFF also entered the political space and opened our eyes about what was wrong in the system. So please educate us on their mistakes
The Anc fas been captured by the DA. Its clear and visible, once can see that the apartheid regime is still at work and just to finalize, where are the disbanded security forces of NIS and BOSS? Wake up South Africa

Thank you Dr Sizwe and Gogo Aubrey for yet another interesting episode. Something that I think we haven’t explored enough is the fact that the ANC is financially bankrupt basically insolvent and that could be the biggest reason why you see the ANC taking decisions that are strange and unimaginable I.e grand coalition with the DA. I mean it cannot be that members and leaders of the ANC are not aware of the fact that Cyril Ramaphosa has failed as a president of the country and the party more especially those leaders in KZN and Gauteng who have political aspirations. Look for example when the ANC campaigned in Gauteng the leadership of Gauteng used the face of former president Mbeki more than ramaphosa, I think that was a sign form ANC Gauteng that they don’t have enough confidence in Ramaphosa I am sure if president Zuma did not join MK Party, the ANC in KZN would have used his face more than Ramaphosa. Now the question we have to ask ourselves is but if Ramaphosa is not enjoying enough support in the ANC why is he still around? The answer I think is the financial situation of the ANC, I think big business and the banks in SA made it clear to the party that if Cyril goes the will stop financing the ANC and will call all the loans that a due and payable essentially leaving the ANC bankrupt and unable to pay it’s obligations and debts! Please comment Dr Sizwe I would to know what do you think about my analysis.
Awesome! Next time we have gogo please do touch on Orania and then on his opinion with regards to ANC recognizing it. Thank you SMWX for being the alternative to manufactured opinion
We are trying to get into and change white institutions like banks, schools and business's it's not going to happen. We need to create our own. But is easier sit and complain than build. The rest of Africa is going to leave us behind, Smaller African countries created there own banking systems independent of traditional systems, we still fixated on getting into the club that does not want us. We have the numbers if we build our own institutions we will leave these legacy ones behind.
It's like you saying I must build my house that I'm already living in doesn't make sense, I can impove on it yes, better develop it yes and that's what is going to happen with the GNU given to others then we can kiss our democracy laws and economy goodbye
Exactly....accurate comment...wallowing in the past isn't gonna get you anywhere. Take a leaf out of the Orania book, listen to one of "your own" (Black Pen) chatting to one of the leaders of Orania...try, real hard, to remove your blinkers and remove your tunnel vision, and see what can be done when you apply principles of hard work, faith, diligence, morals and ethics....don't put people down who have had the courage to build something out of nothing. You WILL be passed by, overlooked and forgotten, by those who choose to move on. Think about it, it's really not that challenging."Handout" mentalities and mindsets do not belong in a country wanting to move forward.
Have to agree with Gogo when he suggests that South Africans are upset with the GNU for all of the wrong reasons because fundamentally, the ANC is similar to the DA in most aspects. I watched the speech of the President during his inauguration and realized that he spoke about the challenges that South Africans face such as joblessness and opinions that divide our public discourse such as GBV and crime. He mentioned the need to address those particular subjects so many times I ended up losing count. However, very alarmingly, he mention the word "land" ONLY ONCE! And that was only in relation to people needing to farm. He spoke a very long time and mentioned the land only once and I knew there and then that this ANC was everything that commentators like the EFF have been accusing them of them all along. The land debate is effectively dead as far as the ANC leadership is concerned and so shall it remain that way for the next five years as the DA learns ways to discharge it's mandate through the ANC.
This platform has become something of a national treasure: High quality content, and very educational. Thank you for your exceptional work my brother 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
uGogo Aubrey is a true embodiment of African wisdom which can help guide black people of origin to navigate carefully through the misleading narrative of inclusive engagement in the name of GNU
Genius! You can't write the word "Genius," and it shows the effect of your 30% pass rate! In isiZulu, there is no word called isipoki it is a borrowed word from English, "spook." Ngunis called it "ithongo." Izangoma are bloody liars. This man has gone crazy. South Africa will work like it or not.

Apatheid is a crime against humanity it's very disturbing to hear some political parties who still want to protect a constitution that will never create a better life for all
Am not SouthAfrican but Sizwe u have a flawless intellectual interaction with guests, its more like an informed conversation and yu donit wth much easiness.🙏
Agreed. These guys are under the illusion the solution to South African problems is political theory. We need concrete getting your hands dirty solutions... And enough with the conspiracy theories.
And some of you are waiting for that to happen, that's how South Africans are like, in fact, all most the entire African continent. In first world countries, after elections, everyone forget about slogans and they build the country, here in South Africa we fold our arms, but when we start talking, everything will be negative.
Coming to think about it, Mbeki once admitted sometime ago that during an interview on 702 channel that no President and cabinet ministers of South Africa know the constitution of the country like Jacob Zuma does. That is why the anc is scared of Zuma and cannot predict his next move.
Well described Gogo. I describe you as a dynamite in a small package. All your guests are great analysts who do not fake. Thank you to bring Gogo again whom I can't stop listen to. Ayeye
Thank you Swizwe, but why are we choosing only Springbok as a apartheid denial, what about all the buildings, institutions, and every other apartheid built thing like Eskom, Denel etc, is/are not apartheid denial? why are we selective in our enology?
ESKOM l, Denel, Transnet have been transformed previously only a few people were electrified, you know which people were previledged, Denel/transnet other SOEhas been transformed previously they only worked for a few of a certain skin. We are not saying Springboks/Cricket SA are racist, what we are saying they are not representative of the true demographics of SA, in the same way we say our Economy, Land Ownership, are still representative of Aphartheid and disspossetion of Africans.
I am glad that Zille reacted like this and demonstrated that this is their coalition is the GND( Government of National Division). The ANC has shortened its life span. I do not see the ANC getting 28% in 2029. This dies not mean that the DA is safe, the ActionSA should prepare itself in replacing the DA as a cut-throat-capitalist political party, but not as the first largest opposition party, because that position will be occupied by the ANC.
I've recently discovered your channel and I must say I thoroughly enjoy the discourse. One is constantly learning. We are at an exciting period of our young democracy and the machinations by the key players are something to behold.
A black man is considered civilised based on the extent to which he mimics the white man. It pains me deep, and I don’t know if this means black people lack an intrinsic identity or if it’s just the cultural indoctrination of western hegemony doing its thing. Given the colonial past I can only assume that it’s the latter.
I have always held this view and I am flattered that Gogo expresses it also: It's time for MKP to get down to the business of opposition politics and set up, internally, a formidable governance structure that will give the voter confidence in the party's ability to govern.
Hey, really hope you see this comment. Great video but what I think is missing from progressive conversations in this country is the way that we don't include the global context. USA is very seriously in danger and dedollarisation is very close to being actualised, closer than we think. A major cause of this is privatisation of state resources, yet we have political parties in this country ignorantly attaching their identity to privatisation. If we had a true understanding of what this is and how it is impacting the west we would be able to see right through it. When you understand the global consequence of these kind of topics it becomes so easy to see how conservative the DA and others actually are. In real time we are seeing the way that the elites control governments and the veil and mystery of the elites in our country becomes clear as day. Mexico is such an excellent example of a country with very similar history as ours and are rising about western imperialism so well. Their political history mirrors our except that they are years ahead of us. They have successfully nationalised the land and especially their mining industry very recently and as a result have increased their minimum wage by ~80 %. Mexico is a REAL example of the principles of socialism and their people are benefiting from it. It's so important for us to understand the role that BRICS plays in the end of western imperialism and the dollar because the DA poses a very real threat to it. We (myself included) are soo ignorant to the bigger picture and the critical part that SA has to play in it and we must start to get educated. Please consider looking into this. Geopolitical Economy Report on YT is an excellent resource that explains everything really well and has helped me tremendously.
Girl, I'm full agree with you on this matter, but we don't have global thinkers like yourself or me. My biggest fear is in a few months we will hear an announcement that SA is withdrawing from BRICS. Many people don't understand that there's no such thing as democracy in Africa, it's just a model word created by those who controll the world. South African educational system is so bad that even an accountant is not politically enclined about what is happening in our country. In other countries people are fully aware of the economic situation in their country. All these grants are not because government cares, they promote dependency, poverty and create an unproductive population. Can I ask what is your field of work, mine is Town Planning. I wish we could sit over for lunch and discuss these grilling issues of our country
Dankie Gogo! I can’t remember how many conversations I had were people kept saying the ANC and DA are diametrically opposed. I kept Insisting that I real don’t see this difference. If there was a difference than we could’ve seen it. We did not. Many live in hope shame
Absolutely..we we also Coerced to believe that the ONLY system that would Liberate us is the one that we Elect to power some Political Leaders into Governance...don't we have an Alternative whereby the Civil Society could play a role in Deciding it's Autonomous Freedom?...which will ensure our Trajectory to Self Determination and Freedom...why do we Conform to Politics and Politicians?
@@eddiekhanyile4588 if you look at it lines are drawn but it's not easy to see them. Those who do not conform will go to jail. Look at KZN the army & large numbers of police here to coerce the public. 45% sidelined

Dr. I’ve been pleading that you invite Dr. Joel Modiri and Prof Clement Marumoagae. I’ve seen that you’re attempted to Get Prof. Madlingozi, I hope you get him soon
You often hear from social commentators and political analysts that 'people did not vote for a GNU.' When you cast your vote, you are saying that you trust the party you voted for to make the best decisions. If the party you voted for participates in coalitions, that is their decision, and you entrusted them that power. You can correct that in the next elections; South Africans have survived much, and we will continue, in support of, or in spite of, our government.
For some of us who vote for particular parties based on policies this coalition thing is not favourable to us,ie,if I had voted for ANC and the ANC join forces with DA which by the way has way different policies to ANC,shouldn't I feel like I am being betrayed by the party I voted for?
@@SbusisoNgubane-xq7xxthat is the point, you vote for a party that you think will best represent your aspirations. There are millions of decisions they will have to make, they can’t be holding a referendum for every decision or policy position. You then have to hold their feet to the fire during their term of office and when their term expires you look at the report scorecard and if you are not happy you take your vote elsewhere. As already mentioned history is a cycle of folly and correction.
@@khaltsharivist365I beg to disagree. It would be an affront to and perversion of democracy to present yourself to the electorate as having a particular stance on matters they would consider core to their vote and then a week later taunt them with doing the exact opposite. It would be disingenuous & morally inexcusable to now tell your constituency I lied & misrepresented my position to get your vote, but you have to suck it up for the next five years. In a Republic, the will of the People is to be paramount and not of politicians & their organizations. These wishes are determined through elections after aspiring representatives made their propositions to the body electorate. Historically revolutions and coup' have followed when these types of shenanigans were played on unsuspecting populations, eg Ukraine-2014, Tunisia-2011. I think civics should be a compulsory subject at SA schools, because we gullibly accept undemocratic ideas as gospel & surrender our agency as individuals & collectives to the demagoguery of politicians.
And political leaders won't entertain coalitions that will be in contrast with their followers, because they know their followers will notbvote them again, that happened to APC
Only God and ancestors wisdom individual given can give such analytical wisdom . We are grateful Gogo with your wisdom and pray that iziNyanya zaseAfrica will protect you all the time and thank you Dr for always bringing such an incredible being in African soil 🙏🙏🙏
"PEOPLE VOTED IN MAJORITY,COUNTING DECIDED,OTHERWISE TO PLEASE MARKETS,BUT THE CLEAR BOTTON LINE IS,VOTES HAVE BEEN RIGGED,NOW NO ONE TALKS& MAKE NOISE ABOUT IT EXCEPT MKP,WHEREAS THAT HAPPENED DAYLIGHT..
Another thought provoking episode... I am still reeling from the "theft" we just witnessed in real time. It's still like a bad dream to see South Africa being walked back into the early 1900s. Whilst we think of a way forward, I'd like to commend especially the EFF and MK leadership for their calm heads. We should not take it for granted that one word, and there would have been chaos. A lot of provocation happened with people's votes not being their voice as Gogo mentioned at the start (the DA and ANC are not what the majority want and they chose to lock out others in the coalition called a GNU). Most African states fall into chaos after elections precisely for this reason, where votes are stolen. May this episode show people the importance of continuous engagement and activism because elections are an event that can easily be swung in favour of those with money and power. Also, its important for Africans to learn the importance of funding their politics. So many parties take Oppenheimer money because Africans want benefits without contributing.
