AUBURN, AL -Long after they graduate, high school students will remember their homecoming dance.
One Auburn High School senior is making sure her lifelong friend has a night he will never forget.
Taylor Johnson and Holman Head grew up together.
"We lived on the same street for like nine years, we are super close friends and our families are super close," said Taylor.
"She has always been there for him and she has been able to be a part of his world and lets him be a part of her world," said Holman’s mother, Amy Head.
The two have shared a lifelong friendship built on happy memories. One memory stands out in Taylor's mind.
"Any time I think of Holman, I think of racecar outfits," Taylor said.
Holman loves racing, so for her senior year homecoming proposal Taylor dressed up as Holman's favorite driver Kyle Busch and held a sign that asked "Holman, will you race to homecoming with me?"
Holman said yes.
"It just means the world to me," explained Holman.
"Well, like you heard him say it just means the world to him it is something he has never been able to do," Amy said. .
Taylor says Holman is her constant joy in life. He always has a smile and a hug whenever they see each other.
"Holman makes my life better in so many ways. He is one of my favorite people. He's just so selfless, so happy in everything he does. He just sees and gets so much joy out of life," Taylor explained.
As they practice their dancing, Taylor and Holman laugh and smile. These two friends may not realize it now, but their dance will continue long after the music stops.
"It will be a memory they both have forever and in his heart he will dance forever," Amy said.
Auburn's homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 15. Holman and Taylor plan to go to Niffer's to eat with their families before the dance.
